Compromise

One thing I love having kids around for is to teach me new things. A usual problem in our house is: Asa wants to play Superhero/Transformer and Mei wants to play doll house. Solution- they bring both worlds together. See pictures.

Now even better is that this was not my idea! As soon as Mei is done with her homework Asa calls out "Time for Doll house" and then end up playing together all night. Asa using his toys and Mei using hers. Truly a gift.

What are the things in my own life I need to bring together and never thought possible? It is food for thought.....

First Day of School (kind of)

Here is our almost nine month old! Has two bottle teeth and working on four on top! Yikes! She loves to eat. For example, we went out to eat yesterday for lunch. I gave her a little bit of my mashed potatoes thinking she would have a few bits. After polishing off most of my whole meal I was left hungry!

She loves to play, sleep and eat. Seriously, are all third babies this good?

Happy Teachers Day! Sept 10th this year you bring flowers to your teachers. Here are the kids with their picked out flowers.

Miriam is in second grade this year. It has proven to be more homework! But she still loves it- we are thankful for that.

Asa is in the middle year of preschool. He some ways his Chinese is the best of all of us as he has been in preschool the longest. He by far can express what he wants!

All in all we are blessed to be in China for such a time as this!

Summer Pictures

So it only took four years. Yes, it has been four years since we took family pictures!! Poor Asa- no family photos with just him and Miriam.

It was one HOT day in Fremont, NE. But I think the photos turned out well. My kids were not too hip on smiling- but still cute.

Can't really see but Mei got her ears pierced this summer.

We celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary this summer too. We are getting old. But we are happy and in love. That is the best gift we could ever have. Love you Joab Meyer!
