Landscaping...Kind of

We received notices from our HOA saying that our weeds around the house were too tall (they werent really THAT bad!) and we needed to address the issue or we would be fined. So what did Mark do...weed whacked the weeds...seriously! So I finally decided if he wouldnt do it, I would. So I weeded around the house and with the help of my AWESOME brother Joe planted some shrubs.

I just need to finish it up by filling it in with mulch. But finally my yard looks better! Hopefully the shrubs will make the weeding less maintance for me. And thanks again Joe for being so awesome and helping me tackle this task! You are the best!!!

Happy Bday Sweet Kate

My adorable neice Kate turned 2 and for her birthday she had a monkey party at the park on Saturday.
She got this bag with a little dog and carried a gift bag around like it was a purse. She was so cute!
My niece Kiera and Ashton enjoying the cake.
They had a monkey pinata. Ashton took his turn but didnt quite grasp the idea of holding it like a bat. But atleast he hit it :)
By the end of the day I think Kate was a little pooped. I love this picture cause she looks drunk :) Happy Birthday big girl! Love you!

Smart Mouth

When ever Ashton gets in trouble I tell him no and he looks at me with a big smile. I start to count, 1,2,3. He has learned to say two, so now he thinks he is so funny after I say one to say two. Bugger! He thinks he is hilarious to say 2 before me. Smart mouth!

Father's Day Weekend

Our family went on a mini vacation for father's day to St. George. Mark's boss bought a house and let us and our family friends, the Steele's, come for a few days down there. This was totally a Marky vacation. I knew I was in for a different type of vacation then I was used to when they said "should we go back to the house for a nap?" I thought they meant for the kids and thought they could nap in the car, but no...they said "for the grown ups"...what the??? Who naps!!! It was a weekend of not doing too much but still having a fun time together.
The house was out in Entrada at the Cliffs (Amazing!) My favorite spot of the house was the courtyard. I loved sitting out there and hanging out with Ashton, who also loved the courtyard.

There was a clubhouse with a big pool and kiddie pool we went and relaxed there for a bit.

Then we went out to Tucacahn and saw Annie. My awesome grandma and grandpa were so nice to watch Ashton while we all went.

Mark loved seeing Annie. He kept singing "tommorrow" all weekend long.

We went out through Snow Canyon and saw the sand dunes, went hunting to see hyroglyphics, we never found them but we searched for a long time.

For lunch one day we went to Pancho & Leftys...really good. We ate out ALOT and one of my favorite restaurants was the Bear Paw...delicious breakfast!

The boys before we left. This photo was hilarious because it is just like Brian and Mark, just their little mini thems. I came out to the car and they were hanging out playing with the car with big Rock Stars in their hands. Like Fathers like sons.

I loved St George, I loved the heat and I loved the house. I told Mark we should move out there if Low Book ever opens a store down there. It was awesome!

Not the best day for the Zoo

Carol and I made plans to go to Hogle Zoo today about 3 weeks ago. So Ashton, Caden and I went and met up with her.
It wasnt the best day to go because it was supposed to sprinkle but we decided to go anyways. We still had fun even though it was drizzling a bit.
Ashton eatting his chick-a-fila and looking so handsome in his stroller
This Girafe thought he was trying out for America's next top Girafe...she kept giving sexy poses around the wall being all coy and such.
But all the sudden it was down poor! I mean we were getting drenched, even the zebras were staying under their umbrella, they were smarter than the rest of us.
Ashton went hiding for cover also. I had the canopy over him and he pulled it all the way down over him so the rain couldnt get him. He went half way across the park like this until we got to the car.
This is us almost back to the entrance. It was so crazy. We still had fun though. Maybe next time we can actually see ALL the animals!

My Handful

I have no photo to post because my sweet innocent son broke my camera. Ashton has become a HANDFUL!!! Ashton is a climber now and into EVERYTHING! He has learned to climb onto the kitchen bar, onto the bathroom sink and up to the TV in the family room. He broke my camera, broke my glasses and I catch him shoving games into the Wii console. I have to watch him 24/7 to make sure he isnt into something new.
He also is not napping much anymore, maybe an hour, and then he wont go to bed until about 10:30. Dont get me wrong, I try! Around 8:30 or 9 I lay him down and then I hear him talking in his crib and then screaming. So I get him up and he runs sprints down the hall, around the house and laughs hysterically...oh boy! He usually doesnt get tired and go down until after Mark gets home and some nights I fall asleep before him. How does he have so much energy!
As much of a stinker that he is I still cant help but smile and laugh as he smiles with his big blue eyes at me. I'm sure this is probably only the beginning of what is to come with the fabulous age of 2.

Baby Sentences

My little guy is so adorable. He is saying little 2/3 word sentences and it is so cute. He says Thank you and when you say your welcome he says Thank you again. Also when he is looking for something he will go "Remote where are you? ", or "Train where are you"...basically fill in the blank and add...where are you. I love it!!! It is so fun and I cant help but grin huge everytime he does it!

Crazy Park

We went out to dinner in SLC the other night and by the restaurant there was this crazy park. It was a man's backyard that he had opened to the public. He had carved crazy stuff.
This is a sphinx with the face of Joseph Smith.
The biggest bird house I have ever seen...A bird MANSION!
Legs, Feet and a head...kind of morbid (I guess it is from Daniel 2)
This is the self carving of the man who made this. The park had carvings in rocks, statues and everything was related to a scripture from the bible. This park was so random!!! You really have to have a open mind when going there.

Pebbles goes to the doctor

Pebbles has had to go to the Vet the past few Saturdays to get her ear infection checked. Her ears are SO small the vet said she will always have ear infections. Poor Pebbles. But she sure loved the car ride over. She sat next to Ashton in the booster seat (Caden's booster seat).
She is so funny, she sat there all on her own.
