A Gentle Peace by Goff James
A gentle peace, the sweetest ever known, Descends with chords that rise and softly fall. In nature’s psalms, beauty rare is sown, An angel’s touch embracing one and all.
Dawn’s chanting voice, a balm upon the ear, Lifts weary spirits, heals each hidden wound. No fear remains, for faith is shining clear, As grace and hope within the heart are found.
The music swells, a comfort deep and true, A presence felt, unseen, yet ever near. It washes clean, makes everything anew, And dries away each solitary tear.
In soaring notes, the soul finds sweet release, A haven built of joy and perfect peace.

Grief is tidal. In time, it can recede and leave one with feelings of peace and advancement, only for it to wash back in with all its crushing hopelessness and sorrow.
