Talk

Friday, March 31, 2006
@Friday, March 31, 2006

27 march to 31 march 2006
enrichment programmes spanned the week
sadly, but definitely, it has now bade farewell to the year 2006.

monday, 27 march
the play "the importance of being kiasu" was staged in LT5
though humorous and entertaining, it's ultimate aim was to bring across the importance of building close tie and healthy relations with those around you.
meaningful indeed.

tuesday, 28 march
8 hours of adventure filled the initially boring and dry day
it was a test of determination through having fun

wednesday, 29 march
the talk on marine conservation wasn't as boring as most would have imagined
no strings attached, it was enriching

thursday, 30 march
another course that lasted 8 hours
dance workshop this time round
hip-hop, street jazz, ballet, cha-cha and rock 'n' roll
looked like a clown especially during street jazz
it was really "hands like legs and legs like hand"

friday, 31 march
arts programme once more, though it's dance this time round
whoa, they are splendid and gorgeous
thereafter, there was the NJ crime scene
perhaps, investigation-related shows have been frequent in my life
the storyline was quite predictable
so, jojo was afterall the culprit after 3 hours of "investigation"

stamp, stamp, stamp
slowly, but surely,
empty spaces at the back of that yellow card got filled up
clocked in a total of 21 hours =D

@Wednesday, March 29, 2006

perhaps i was really too tired last night
so tired that i failed to keep a close watch on my memories
allowing a fraction of them to escape from the clutches of brain cells
unfortunately for them, they somehow ended up in the pensive

so, here's a continuation of yesterday's event
basically, there was a "script" for the adventure course

Climber: "Am I on belay?"
Belayer: "Belay on"
Climber: "Climbing"
Belayer: "Climb on"
Climber: "Jumping"
Belayer: "Jump on"

well, if that was a real script (what some of my friends call it), then it'll be the ultimate example of a lousy script. by the way, nobody actually bothered to stick to their lines. it was such a mouthful...
hence the challenge was more of trying to get the "script" right, especially under the watchful eyes of our teachers

within that little space available in me, "regrets" dominates
left with only 1 pathetic hurdle before accomplishing my attempts
still can't figure out i didn't have the courage and strength to continue
it's as if my legs were magnets - permanantly attracted to the staples
probably "confidence" wavered...
anyway, it doesn't make sense to brainstorm for the probable reasons
since the fact that i've failed cannot be evaded

fortunately, i did manage to complete the rest
if not i would jolly well have rammed myself against the wall
challenge pole has currently positioned itself top in my list of favourites
standing on two legs on a pole with a surface area equivalent to that of the equatorial plane of a soccer ball is indeed rewarding
imagine having the gentle breeze caressing your face that has probably been charred, due to long periods of exposure to UV rays, while enjoying the spectular glance high up there
nevertheless, the end to it approach minutes later when you have decided to take the plunge that appeared as if we'll hit the ground in seconds
(well, that would never be possible. it is afterall not a suicide attempt)
thereafter, many of the other obstacles were stimulates of suicide
(though with safety harnesses attached)
why not a suicide-drill perhaps...since there's fire-drill
shall not mention who, but there was one who only decided to plunge after
...standing...for a WHOLE 50 MINUTES...
imagine the outcome and reaction
(erm... by yourself though...can't be bothered to elaborate)

had initially contemplate to write about you-now-who
but decided against that shortly after
shouldn't really spent so much precious time on that kind of stuff
it's time our attention finds another intended party
someone or something that deserves it more

definitely looking to more of such in future
a thought owned not only by me alone, but also equally by many others
perhaps better results can be yield the next time round
however, till then, it's nothing but building castles in the air

Challenge Ropes Course, Abseil & Zip-line Towers and Challenge Pole
is tantamount to an exhaustive day of work
with seemingly endless difficulties to overcome
and yet, nonetheless, it automatically terminates at the end of the day
and eventually, all these constitutes to a night of undisturbed rest

yippee, went back nhsb percussion
"great changes" would be an apt discription
(got new junior by the name of benedict too)
well, went rampaging at the riser
jus to bring out something that hasn't seen light...
for at least the past 2 years...
theorically speaking, they are called "whirling tubes"
to put them across crudely, they are just washing machine pipes
(though cut into sections of different length)
anyway, no point dwelling into how that came about, and what is it used for
(cos it's like 5 years back and it's definitely not for washing machines!)

so, looking around the room
many had the 'huh?' kind of expression
something so common in our lives had seem to alienated itself
not their fault though as even the youngest juniors who have a slightest clue of what those "pipes" are have already graduated and are now in J1
in other words, none saw "that" before till today

thereafter, what happened would be predictable
being kinda like a monkey, it's only possible i'll play with "them" again
haha, wasn't the only 1 who don't seem his/her age though
kak and jh joined the fun
hmm..that "thing", in short, produced a ghostly sound
(which apparently sounded somewhat like a choir to mr tan)
anyway, he didn't know we have that, neither do the teachers
band maybe playing winds of poseidon once more
can't wait to hear it one more as it really does bring back fond memories

oh yarh, told the teacher we wanted to borrow instruments...
....and it turned out to be a dustbin and some washing machine pipes...
should have seen the kind of UNBELIEVABLE expression on her face
(since they didn't know we had that)
talking about the dustbin which "rightfully belonged to kak"
there were a whole load of rubbish in it
wonder how long have they been residing in there
and...why would anyone have thought to dump something in there
(perhaps it's a dustbin afterall...maybe at times one don't think that far...)

wanting to borrow such stuff means we have to carry it out of school
well, it isn't that hard to imagine the looks passers-by have on their faces
afterall, carrying that does looks strange and attention seeking
haix

spent the entire day outside
my eyelids are already giving up on me
presume my biological systems are failing on me soon for today
it wouldn't be long before i find myself surrounded in darkness for one moment
and the next, find myself in some dreamland
before that happens, just let me end here...
wouldn't want to salivate all over my keyboard...
(if that even happens in the first place...)

"...you've a chim mind..."
-peilin-
So basically, simplicity shall dominate and reign this time round. After weeks of break (unfortunately, from band and nort mugging), saturday was once again reserved by band. Ironically, practice ended with one realising that there will be a week break again seemingly due to enrichment week. Well, percussion's current strength is 9 (with kak finally joining =D). A word to describe today's practice -- fun (though we were caught for starting a private "rally" illegally...) Did miss saigon, but it turned up to be more of miss saigang for ernest and i, we were practically doing "rojak". Anyway, that wasn't the fun part. Too bad we didn't manage to wrap up the practice by tricking heng to walk into the so-called "infra-red trap" set up by weiyi cos chong accidentally destroyed it last minute. Not forgetting the fact that weiyi was mistakenly called as aikido (can't seem to see the link, but perhaps the intended party was meant to be kak). Haix...not time go watch superband. Nvm, shall wait patiently till it's broadcast.

10th february
marks the start of the common-test-marathon
nort a great day to start with
had a high fever the night before and shot to close 40
(wonder if my non-regenerative brain cells were killed)
fateful morning
my fever was accompanied by questions which were greek to me
they still are anyway
well, at least "fever" wasn't lonely
so what's with consumerism and stuff?
left without a clue till today

11th march
tried to get down to serious work
but it wasn't within my capabilities
slept through till the 12th
had to appease my fever

from 13th march onwards
much as i hope for a week of rest, it was a week of mugging
my butt just can't get glued to my seat
flipped through great deal of pages...
but loading tension was low
low affinity for information (not oxygen), i guess
nonetheless, bade fever goodbye
man, it was tough to complete the syllabus
mugging and more mugging
7 days in a row

20th march
2 months since my birthday
nah....it's the continuation of common test
so it was, biology and mathematics
there was this question about caixin and fish kill
and the doubt some had in their mind was "what's caixin?"
a person's name...species of fishes...vegetables
or what have you
all the renditions were hilarious
then, maths came along
way before time was up, there were already people counting
not how much they are confident of scoring
but rather how many marks will be donated to the teachers
seldom so generous, i would say
anyway, kinda sad that junior class saw major change
some many people left, mostly those whom one can crap with

21st march
chemistry tagged behind too
at least it was do-able this time round
apart from mcqs where it's more of a "I feel that the answer is this" kind

22nd march
3 more days before the tests come to an end
physics was out to kill
not a disappointment though since i'm terrible at it

23rd march
-speechless and disappointed-

24th march
the final paper finally reached the finishing line
what a long way we've come and it's only the start of the term
damn embrassing at KAP after being sabotaged once more
5 against 1 (had to succumb isn't it?)
thought that a least it's be the end to tests for now
but only reach home to find out that there's another one to come
...2 weeks down...
at least it's 1 this time round, not a throng
right now, it's time to worry about dance night 2006
stage manager=stressful
hope it'll be a success though and that it'll be a fun experience
=D
