Goodman Family

The rain started last night and we knew Hunter's tournament would be postponed or cancelled all together.  When we woke up I decided to make a big breakfast.  It wasn't long before my dad (drandaddy) and Rob decided to pitch in.  We had quite a feast and a few extra guest.  My nephews Jonah & Carter, my sister Heather and her kids Charlie & Hannah and Carly(my friends daughter).




I feel like God has blessed me with such a wonderful family and I am so grateful for everyday I get to spend with them.  Today I got to spend an awesome day with my husband, my children, my parents, both my sisters and my nephews & nieces.  So while some saw today as a rainy, dreary day I saw it as a blessing that allowed me some much needed family time.

 Finally after all of the painting, cleaning, packing and unpacking we have a new place to call home.

Well this week started off with a bad sinus infection and double ear infection.  I felt horrible.  Saturday and Sunday were consumed by moving which made me feel even worse.  Like moms do I had to take one for the team, after all it is the kids spring break too.
Monday we spent most of the day laying around relaxing and unpacking boxes.

Tuesday
The fun started.  We met some of my teacher friends and their kids at Cici's Pizza for lunch then went bowling.

Wednesday
Today a hectic day.  When we woke up I realized Macy & Deacon the dogs we are dog sitting for our good friends the Crenshaws had escaped from the backyard.  I was paniced.  I drove around the neighborhood for an hour asking anyone and everyone had they seen them.  Finally we found Macy the german shepard but Deacon the doberman was still missing.  We drove around for several more hours and Amanda Crenshaw hung signs.  We were at a loss.  Haley kept saying "Mom we HAVE to find him."

Thursday 
Around 9:00am I got a phone call from a neighbor saying she found Deacon.  I went and picked him up.  I was so relieved.  We decided to brave it and meet my sister Amy and her kids for a fun outing at Chuck E Cheese.  We picked up my nephew Charlie and headed out for some fun.  Hunter decided to stay at his friend Logan's house.  Amy and I had a great time catching up and the kids loved running around playing games.

Haley was very sick around her birthday so we had to postpone any friend activities.  We decided that during spring break she could have a couple of friends spend the night and do something special.  She decided that tonight was the night.  We picked up her friends and headed to Mezcal.  The girls stayed up late giggling and watching movies.

Friday
I took Haley and her friends to get their nails done.  They of course picked the brightest colors in the place.  It was so fun getting a pedicure listening to them talk and giggle.  We finally got lunch and headed home.

Tonight was the start of our very busy time of year.  We kicked off the 2011 Tiger Baseball season with a tournament game at 6:00.

Saturday & Sunday
Both of our weekend days were packed with baseball and family.  Saturday we had a wonderful day with two Arlington Tiger wins topped off with Exline's Best Pizza in Town for dinner with mom, Heather, Hannah & Charlie.

Sunday we played more baseball with Haley's softball practice mixed in the middle.  After a tough 3-2 loss in the Championship game we thought the boys deserved a treat.  We went to Yogurt Mountain & ordered Chili's takeout.  Yes we did dessert first.

Robbie and I met when we were in high school.  We dated for 5 years before getting married.  We married on August 5, 1994.  It was one of the best days of my life.  We moved to Henderson, TN where I attended Freed-Hardeman on a softball scholarship.  In 1997 we decided to start our family.  After a long lesson in patience we were blessed with a beautiful baby boy.  Hunter Robert Goodman was born October 8, 1999 he weighed in at 8lbs 10oz and was 19 1/2 inches long.  When Hunter was 8 months old we found out that God had a wonderful blessing headed our way.  On March 5, 2001 the beautiful surprise God planned for us arrived.  Haley Clark Goodman was born weighing in at 8lbs 2oz and 19 1/2 inches long.
Hunter is a sweet super competitive boy.  He looks at everything like it is a competition.  He plays competitive baseball and football.  He plays basketball too.  He is in his 5th year of competitive baseball.  He just finished his second season of competitive football. 
Haley is a girly girl.  Anybody who knows me knows she doesn't get that from me.  She does play sports.  She has played soccer, basketball, and softball.  So far she doesn't have a favorite.  It takes her a little bit to get aggressive but once she does the other team better watch out.  


There isn't a day that goes by that I don't count my blessings.  God has given me such a loving family.  I am thankful for them everyday.
