Merry Christmas, Gordon Style

This year for Christmas we headed down to Daren's parents house on Wednesday evening.  Of course, what trip down south wouldn't be complete without Daren leaving me to be by myself and him going off with his brothers to go fish.  We all woke up bright and early on Christmas Eve Daren left and I waited until it warmed up just a little to take my dogs on our walk.  It was a brisk morning I'll say that much! Once we were a few feet away from my inlaws house I turn around and sure enough...we had some friends join us on our walk....

They weren't all dogs you see, my inlaws have a pet goat. He freaked me out at first, it didn't help that him and Kona had a little bit of a tiff.  All was well on our walk though.  Goaty is my new best friend.  I just loved watching him gallop down the road behind Lex and Cage(inlaws dogs) We walked around the big block twice(about 4 miles) Everyone was surprised Goaty could keep up he normally just whines when the dogs leave to do their roaming.  Isn't he cute!?!

While Daren was gone fishing I helped Daren's mom with the Christmas present for the grandparents.  All the kid's families were going to make scrapbook pages with pictures and memories.  I was thankful to have something to do. I think they turned out pretty good..  My creative juices were flowing, right Susan?

We went to Grandma/Grandpa Gordon's that evening.  Unfortunately, Daren and Reece had a little wrestling match before we left.  Daren may think he is strong but it can't make up for the 50 pounds Reece has on him. I tried to stop the fighting, but does anyone listen to me....Obviously not because Reece rolled Daren onto his back with his legs under him and next thing ya hear you hear a big POP! Loud, seriously, I can't do this story justice.  Anyways, he was in some serious pain! So we didn't stay long at his grandparents before his ankle was killing him.  We went to Daren's parents house and iced his ankle. Don't worry, he must be feeling better because he's left me for the weekend to go hunting in Nevada.

Surprisingly, everyone woke up eariler than I had anticipated on Christmas morning. It helped that Blake's bedroom door wasn't entirely closed and Meli went a sniffing and woke him up!  It was Christmas to remember that's for sure!

Reece and Daren are still friends ;)

My father in law got a zebra print snuggie....not too long after  it became my mother in law's...

Meli sat on my lap for most of the weekend, they were really tired after all the roaming and goaty fights :)
Notice anything missing from this picture? Of course not, only I would know, the bodybugg is no longer on the arm. I was sad, I cried... seriously.

Landon and Eric stopped by! I was really excited to see Landon, it had been almost 2 years! He talks now.  I love that little boy.

We watched Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and napped before lunchtime.

After lunch, Daren and I ( more I than Daren) packed up the car to head home so Daren could get ready for his hunting trip.  I loved Christmas this year! Two thumbs up to Daren who surprised me with a sewing machine.  My dream of becoming completely self sufficiant is just that much closer!

Unseasonably Cold

As everyone knows, I've made it perfectly clear. I hate winter. It's too dang cold. Especially how freezing Logan has been the past few days.  Then my little spree of bad luck with the ice last year didn't help.  But I have to say, I've had a complete attitude change! I'm loving winter this year.  Could be I proceed with caution when walking my dogs on the ice.  It could also be that I have a wonderful car with some really good tires that make me not stress about it.  I don't know what it is....but I love it. I love walking into a building and feeling a huge gush of warm arm. I love cuddling up with my dogs.  I love bundling up head to toe just to go to work.  I even have enjoyed shoveling our driveway. I'm just loving life!!

But maybe...just maybe...it could be moments like these that I catch my dogs being sweet that make me love my life..

I realize, no one understands my love for my dogs.  Even they don't get it.  But it's like sibling rivalry all the time with those two...they don't ever go near each other and growl at each other when the other gets a little too close.  So can ya blame me for being a sap when I catch the two of them loving being by each other warming up by the heater.  Sorry for the picture, I had to hurry so it's just a phone picture.

Happy ThanksBirthGiving Weekend!

In the past I have always complained about my crappy birthday. I tried really hard this year to not let anything ruin the day for me. And guess what?! It was the best birthday ever. Seriously!

Daren kept telling me I can't complain because I get a huge feast on my birthday. I don't love thanksgiving food, just the appetizers and desserts! Leftover turkey sandwiches aren't bad either.

Thanksgiving was a little bunch for us this year.  Just the usual "Sunday Dinner" crowd(2nd Generation Boston family + Daren + Chris) and my grandparents. I loved it!

There was WAY too much food though. But, I sure did devour the chocolate-peanut-krispie treats..

Charlie hung out by me the whole time cause I give him food ;)

I used the excuse over and over again "just do it as a birthday present to me"...I loved it

Daren got me a heater, it's pretty darn fancy.  I think Kona loves it more than I do

Of course, what birthday wouldn't be complete without a Kathy Bag from my grandma!

And oh what a glorious day it was to receive a MICROWAVE from my parents!!! We've gone without one for just shy of 2 months! Yes, food does taste better when cooked on/in stove/oven but sometimes my time is just a little more important.

Then on Friday mommy and I did very little shopping. Nothing in the wee hours of the morning, just later that afternoon. I did not feel good, super headache from said chocolate-peanut-krispie treats. I think I'm getting some bad TMD from grinding. Which is not so good when I have to wear rubber bands for the braces.  Who votes that it's time for these bad boys to come off!?

On Saturday, the McCauls joined us for a wonderful day. Unfortunately, we got stuck watching the BYU/Ute game. Before we watched the game they wanted to buy me a birthday present, which I really didn't expect! We went to the mall and Joe and I ended up going around and I had to try on *cringe* everything he told me to and then he'd pick which one to buy. I love the shirt I ended up with. I wouldn't have ever picked it out myself. Thanks McCaul family! I wish I had whipped the camera out for when they were here.

Thanks to everyone for making my birthday (weekend hehe) super wonderful!

I Love My McCaul Girls

A few months ago my sister, Andria, posted on her blog(one of the only posts she's posted recently) saying she had a few extra tickets for the new Twilight movie, New Moon.  I jumped on that.  I loved the first movie. I hated the books, but boy that first movie did it for me.  So Kelsi and I made a weekend out of it.  On Friday we left after Kelsi got off work and got to hang out with my really adorable nieces before we were going to eat and head to the movie.  The girls put on a performance for us! It was fabulous!

Kelsi ended up helping them choreograph a dance.  Avery was the best diva I've ever seen. She told me she reminder herself of Gabriella, from High School Musical(I think...)

Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE- there were apparently like 50+ woman planning on attending the movie with Andria's group- were meeting at Andria's before heading to dinner at Sweet Tomatoes. I stole these pictures from one of Andria's friends on facebook. It was a great night, late, but great.

P.S. Of course I loved the movie- oh that Jacob....

What Can I Say...I'm A Huge Fan

As you know by now, I love my Aggie football players.  Seriously, it's borderline embarrassing.  So when the weather forecast showed a snow storm on Saturday...did I even doubt for a second I wouldn't be there? No way.  I didn't quite know just how much snow there was going to be.  I called AJ on Friday night just to make sure he knew what he was getting himself into.  And I knew it'd be just us two crazies there.  When I went to pick AJ up Michael said he wanted to go purely for the nachos.  I questioned him multiple times making sure he knew it would be cold.  He thought the game only would last 30 minutes, silly boy.  We bundled up and headed up to the stadium.  It didn't start off too bad at all(when the picture was taken) but boy oh boy did it get chilly! It ended up being a white out. haha, oh my it was a great time though.  I don't know why Michael hasn't ever gone with us to a game before! That game, unfortunately, is the last one I am able to go to for the season. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the Boise State(oh it'll be embarrassing) game this Friday.

So I Think Ya'll Be Jealous

Last night was the So You Think You Can Dance Tour!! I know I say this like a thousand times, but seriously, we know how to have a good time.  We started out the evening, not all 8 of us, just the "Boston" part of the family night out- Kelsi, Mom, Me, Andria, and Shannon(Andria's sister in law), by going to Red Robin in our matching attire.  I think I can always handle being matchy, matchy but the looks make me feel all funny.

After Red Robin the Brown girls(Lindsay, Leslie, and Alli) showed up for the good time...in a limo!  Ok, joke they didn't come in the limo but next year I totally think we should get one for ourselves! Especially if that dang construction is still going on....

We also got offered to buy these SCAMMED wrist bands, for a "Meet and Greet" BOGUS!  It didn't dawn on us until after they only had 5, before the Browns showed up, left and then magically went and started selling more that we realized this just may not be what we thought we had gotten.  We seriously had no idea and when we asked people about it they just looked at us like we were crazy. But we didn't let that ruin the fun we had in store.

I apologize for all the dance pictures which could seriously mean nothing to most of you, but I think there are a select few of you who would really appreciate living vicariously through me.

Brandon and Jeanette...sigh...perfect couple

Phillip and Jeaninne

The "Butt Dance"

Bollywood

Super Hero Top 3 Girl Dance

Eyes On Fire- the Twilight Dance

...the Russian Folk dance made a few appearances...

Battlefield

I was so excited to see this water/table group dance.  I never did get to see it.  Loved it!

They even had a plug for the new workout videos.  Kupono was hilarious! PS Don't get the workout videos.  I got them through Netflix and I think it was fun to do once but I don't think it's a go back and try it a few more times kind of video.

They did a whole group Russian Folk Dance

The Addiction dance was so much more intense live

Then it was over and I was sad....

Then, we didn't know what to do since we had these dang wrist bands, which the Browns did end up getting one along with us. We knew where the girls who sold them to us were sitting so we were keeping our eyes on them.  They weren't moving.  So we helped ourselves down to the floor. We asked another lady and she said you had to have this sticker/badge thing.  Thats when I was ready to pack up and leave.  Seriously!?  Then we walked over to the other side of the floor and what do ya know.  It was legit!!!!  So, we went and sat in a specific section and watched the whole shows magic vanish before our eyes.

Then, the most glorious part of the whole evening....we got to meet the dancers!!

We got to watch Randi give her husband a kiss....which thank goodness that is who her husband is because the guy I was thinking it was... wooof....

Now, I didn't know just how this thing was going to work so I figured we'd have to make a plan....I knew #1 person I needed to see was Brandon.  Wham Bam Thank you Ma'am...got my picture taken with Brandon.  It was WONDERFUL!  I squated a little so he was taller than me! Notice Ade is in the background with that dang pick...

Then of course the Bostonians had to be with Brian's twin, Phillip! Andria got her shirt signed by him.  We even showed him a picture of Brian.  He was the most friendly dancer of the bunch.  He got robbed by getting kicked off that early.

We met Jason later on, Leslie apparently is a die hard fan.  She turned her shirt around so it looked like he signed her boobs. The picture Alli got was priceless.  Leslie was a giddy little school girl.
PS Thanks Leslie for being as star struck as I was...

Here's Evan.  He was sweet.

Jeaninne was a tad too busy for us Hot Tamales apparently....she was in and out quick.

Jeanette was difficult to find but totally found her! She loved our shirts.

Kaitlyn was my nieces favorite so we had to get one with her

Don't judge us by this picture.  The whole Randi business was insane.  Her sister was there bossing me around when I took perfect control on all the other situations, I knew what I was doing without her help thanks....  But Randi acted like we were crazy.  That was when we bowed out and ended the evening.

We never did end up seeing Ade(more than later when I saw him in the background of that beautiful picture of me and Brandon...) Kupono, or Melissa.  Seriously, I think they left. But that's ok anyways I didn't love any of them.  But I loved that.  I was on cloud nine and couldn't sleep last night. Thanks Boston's, McCaul's, Brown's for the BEST NIGHT EVER!
