Tee Ball Pics 2008

We just received Jay's Tee Ball pictures for this year. I have to say that it is so nice to have a picture where he isn't in the wheelchair. I tried to be his Tee Ball coach, but things didn't work out for this year. Maybe I'll get the chance for Sarah next year.

Summertime Fun!!!!

Sarah and Kaitlyn had friends over yesterday. They played in the back yard for two hours. We are having so much fun in our backyard this year. This first picture is my baby Kaitlyn sluming it in a Tshirt and diaper. This is Kaitlyn's "best friend" Hallie Humpherys. She is 4 months older than Kaitlyn and they already love each other.
This is Sarah and her best friend Hadley Humheries. They were pretending to be mermaids and splashing their tails in the pool while singing The Little Mermaid lyrics.

Picture for Grandma

Grandma Graham gave Sarah this dress when she spent the weekend with her. Sarah wore it for the first time to church today and we took a picture so that Grandma could see her in it. She was lovely. She wouldn't give me a sweet smile until I took a picture of her silly face. So the last picture was actually the first one we took and then the other two followed.

Another ER visit!!

Well, I don't have any pictures from this visit to the ER. But the story needs to be told. Not many people get the opportunity to visit the ER with all three of their children in a consecutive 12 month period.

We had just walked into Lowe's yesterday and Marcus and Sarah were looking at garden supplies. Jay and I walked over to the carts with Kaitlyn. I put Kaitlyn in the front of the cart where the small children sit. You know, right at the front so she was facing me.

Jay said, "Mom, can I push her?"

I hesitated for a second and they replied, "Sure, do you promise to be safe with my baby?"

Jay replied, "Yes!" and proceeded to grab the cart. Almost as quick as his hands touched the cart he jumped up with both feet on the bar that goes across the bottom and he pulled the entire cart completely upside down. He jumped out of the way and Kaitlyn landed flat on her face and the cart folded on top of her.

I scooped her up and watched the blood start pouring from both of her nostrils and mouth. She started screaming and people immediately started crowding around. We left as quickly as we could and took her immediately to the ER in Idaho Falls. They did a CT scan for us and everything came out okay. Nothing broken. Just a sad baby with a bloody lip and nose.

Jay feels horrible, he loves his baby sister more than life itself. So there you go, my third trip to the ER with my third child. I hope I'm done. I've been told these things happen in threes, so my turn is over.

Colorado Weekend!!!

I went on my third weekend getaway in about 8 weeks this weekend. I took Sarah, Kaitlyn, my mother, Marcia, Lisa (my sister) and her baby Cameryn to Colorado for the weekend. We drove to Colorado on Friday and dropped Sarah off at Judy's so she could spend two days and three nights with her Grandma Graham. She was so excited I thought she might pop on the way there. The rest of us went to Larkspur, Colorado to spend the weekend with my wonderful Aunt Lora and Uncle Mark. They just completed construction on their beautiful new home and we wanted to see it. They were more then gracious and we had a fabulous weekend getaway. Lisa and I are already planning a Bodine Family Reunion for July 2009 at their new home. So look for details in the near future.

In this first picture we are all relaxing on Mark and Lora's back deck. The view was magnificent. From left to right, Mark, Lora, their son Scott and Lisa.

The next two pictures are of the sunset off of the deck. It was breathtaking both nights.
It just so happened that it was the opening weekend for The Renaissance Festival in Larkspur. It will be going on next year during the family reunion so we wanted to get some pictures of it to share with everyone. As soon as we got there the cast of the Festival was at the front gate singing to people as they left. At the front of the cast was none other than Captain Jack Sparrow himself. Lisa was too shy to ask for a picture with him. So I had to do the honors. He was more than willing and Scott took the pic for us. (Eat your heart out Melissa, add this one to my list of famous people!!!)

Thank you Marcus for being so wonderful and letting me take your two beautiful girls to Colorado over Father's Day weekend so that I could go away on yet another Girls Weekend with my mom and sister. You are such a wonderful husband and father. Each of your children love you so much and have a different and special bond with you. Love you tons!!!

Sarah's Dance Picture

We just received Sarah's dance pictures for this year. I wanted to share the picture with all of you. She had a wonderful season and if you go to the past posts, you can see her recital dance.

Weather Venting!!!!

I keep track of each month that it snows in Eastern Idaho and I would like everyone to know that June is out. Today, June 11, 2008, it snowed in Eastern Idaho. As I walked around campus to and from classes today I had to dodge snowflakes. And I am not talking about a flurry here and there. Snow was coming down from the sky rapidly. I would like to repeat what I told my husband this February regarding the weather here. VAMPIRES COULD LIVE HERE!! For all of you Twilight readers you know what I'm talking about. This could be Forks. Anyway, we are looking forward to summer whenever it decides to arrive.

Tee Ball 2008

Jay is playing TeeBall again this year. Last year (when he was playing as a Yankee) his season was cut short because he broke his leg in half. This year his team is the Boston Red Sox, and he's made it through the first week. What does that tell you about the Yankees!!! He loves it and is already anxious for next year when he gets to play coach pitch. (That's when the coach pitches the ball to the kids instead of hitting it off of the tee.) Here he is as catcher. They all get a chance to play all of the positions. This is Jay sliding into home. He slides into every base. We've tried to explain to him that he doesn't have to slide into all the bases, but he says that he wants to and that's how the players on TV do it anyway.
This is Jay and his cousin Tayler. She is playing for the Colorado Rockies this year. They played each other tonight and were chatting away whenever they were on base together.
Here is a picture of my baby Kaitlyn enjoying her brother's game. I noticed that I hadn't posted any recent pictures of her lately so I thought I'd post a couple of her now. She is getting so big. She is by far our smiliest (is that a word?) baby. She is always happy, and is sleeping through the night now so everybody in the house is a little happier these days.

Here is Jay at the bat.

New Car

Marcus bought me a new car this weekend. I've wanted a minivan for about two years now and have kicked tires at the lot for about a year and a half. But I've always chickened out and talked myself out of it. Well, this weekend we finally took the leap and traded in the Durango that we've had for six years. It was sad to see it go. It's been a great car for us. But we feel like the minivan years have arrived and we found the right vehicle for the next six years. It's an 05 Toyota Sienna. And as Sarah told everyone at church today, "We got a new minivan with a T.V. in it." I love it and I can't wait to take my first roadtrip in it this next weekend to Colorado.

Batgirl in this picture is Sarah. She loves to dress up and have her picture taken.

Sarah's Last Day of Preschool (this year)

Sarah's last day of preschool for this year was today. I found out when I dropped her off this morning that her teachers wanted her to come all 5 days a week next year. Last I heard they only wanted to up her attendance to four days. She currently only attends two days a week and I thought four days was a lot. I was shocked and a little heartbroken. Five days a week just seemed like a lot for a preschooler. We decided on 4 days and that she may even only go 3 days a week every now and then. Maybe I'm wrong, but I just don't want her to get burned out before she starts kindergarten.

These first two pictures are from the first days of school in August of 07.

These next two pictures are from this morning. I'm not sure exactly, but I think she grew 2 and a half inches, and gained 3 pounds this year. I think my calculations are pretty close but just not exact.

Sarah had a lot of fun this year and made quite a few new friends. However, their names change daily so I could not tell you them right now. Her favorite part of preschool was snack time and singing time. She learned how to count to 20 and spell her name. What she looks forward to most about summer is her trip to Grandma Graham's house all by herself. She will be going for 2 days and 2 nights. She talks about it all the time and has big plans. So get ready Grandma because here she comes!!!
