Soccer starts for Kenyon

Saturday, April 5, 2008

Spring season started up again and we were hoping Kenyon would be excited and actually stay out on the field. Well he played the entire game and had a great time. We were so proud of him and loved watching him. He told us before the game that he wanted us to cheer for him, which we did. He was so cute. He scored and even assisted on another goal. Now he is looking forward to his next game and wants to score more goals.

Happy Birthday Hunter!

Hunter turned 6 on Thursday, April 3.  In school he got to be VIP the week before his birthday.  We made a poster about what he likes to do and made cupcakes for his entire class.  It was fun to see him stand in front of his class and tell about himself and then answer questions.  He is  growing up so much and becoming very interactive with the other students.

For his birthday we had a family dinner and opened gifts.  On Friday he had a LEGO party with his friends.  We tried to get the boys excited about celebrating their birthdays by going to LEGOland & Sea World but in the end they want friend parties.  I was disappointed because I really would love to go to LEGOland.  So with a few days notice I put together a party and invitations.  Hunter was excited and hoped his friends would get him LEGOs since it was a LEGO party.  Well they did and he has so many LEGO Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Mission to Mars, Speed Racers, and cars.  Hopefully we can work on not losing any in the carpet so I don't vacuum any pieces up and then when Elise starts crawling she won't find any surprises.

Easter Weekend

Saturday, March 22

Easter weekend went pretty well.  Saturday we had an egg hunt in Grandpa & Grandma Grange's backyard.  The boys did not want to go to the one Farmington City was hosting so I did the best I could.  I had a ton of eggs and had fun finding places to hide them.  The boys were so excited and loved hunting for them unlike last year when I had them just scattered around our yard.  Before we started our egg hunt we made our traditional bunny ears.  I was surprised that Elise kept hers on.

With having 9 o'clock church we all had to be completely ready for church before we could go see what the Easter Bunny brought us.  This year Hunter came home from school telling us that we as parents were the Easter Bunny.  He is still young that we weren't ready for this to be over so we talked to him and told him that we were his helpers.  Well late Saturday night I headed out to for new Easter stuff so Hunter would believe a little longer.  Sunday morning they found their easter baskets and a toy from us with a note.  The Easter Bunny was sad that Hunter did not believe so he told him that when he got home from church he would have to work for his Easter stuff this year.  The Easter Bunny left clues for the boys to hunt for the Easter goodies.  When they found them, they got new transformer baskets with a lego set and goodies.  He even left Elise a bunny basket with some bibs and food.  Hunter was so excited and made sure that we knew he believed.  He was so cute during it all.

Between church and dinner Kevin and I put on "Enchanted" for the kids and we took a nap. It was so needed. We had a yummy Easter dinner with Kevin's family.  We started to feel pretty yucky that day so we didn't have too much of an appetite, but what we ate was delicious.  Thank goodness whatever we had didn't last - about a day or so.  It was awful to feel so rundown and just completely out of it.  No energy at all.

Spring soccer begins...

Wednesday, March 19

Tonight Hunter started soccer up again. He was a little timid at first but then got back into it. He scored a goal - telling me it was for the family. He went on to tell me that he will try and score a goal for each of us next week.

We had a great time at the game. This was Elise's first soccer game and she slept through the whole thing. The weather had been nice all day, but the wind picked up and it was pretty chilly during the game.

Here are a few pictures but check out more at

St. Patrick's Day

Monday, March 17

Tonight for FHE we were invited to celebrate St. Patty's with some friends. We had a great time and enjoyed some great food. The kids had a great time as well, when we got home they were so tired they didn't complain about going to bed.

Kenyon had a great time with the ballons.

Elise - 4 months old

Monday, March 17

Today Elise had her 4 month check-up.  She was really happy for having to be woken up and not being able to eat completely.  She is surprisingly long for being one of our babies - 25 inches (80%).  She is still putting on weight but not much - 13 lbs 3 oz. (40%).  So she is our tall skinny girl with a 39 mm head.  She is doing really well and is healthy, so we are happy.  We now just need to work on her rolling over.
I have never enjoyed taking my kids to get their shots.  I am glad that Elise is a pro at them. Today she smiled at the nurse even when her legs were being held down.  Even after the first needle, she continued to smile and coo.  When the second needle went in - she still didn't cry.  It was when the needle was pulled out that she started to cry, but it only lasted a few seconds before she started cooing again.  It has been a few hours and she has slept and is happy as can be.  What a good girl!!!

Water, water everywhere...

Yesterday afternoon we arrived home to find our house was being taken over by water. Our master bathroom toilet has always run off and on. Well yesterday it decided to not stop and it made a mess of everything. It leeked from upstairs to our main level family room and our basement family room. We were able to get a restoration company to our home last night. So, with the carpet ripped up and the pad removed they were able to place many fans throughout the rooms to help dry everything. I am grateful to have Kevin's parents so close that we are staying with them for a few days. I was at the house today dealing with things (Kevin is out of town) and I could hardly think with all the fans and the humidity. I took a few pictures so you could get a glimpse into what is happening. It will be nice to get the repairs underway hopefully next week.
