Between The Lines

Between the lines of these posts are many wonderful, random moments in life....

Elli at school with "paper Elli":

Elli gave a presentation on making snow globes for "How To" day. She did a fantastic job!:

Ashlan was Louisa May Alcott for the PA Museum at school. She was AWESOME!:

The girls both participated in the recycling competition at school. The challenge was to make a valentine's holder out of recycled products. They won 1st and 2nd place in their grades:

Matt's Birthday:

Visits from friends:

Just what I saw as I looked down the aisle while at Home Depot.
Love it...:

One morning before church. She's just so dang cute!:

Random dancing pictures found on the camera:

Time in the sprinkler fountain:

Kate at cousin Alexis's gravesite:

Valentine's Day breakfast:

(And let me add....my sweet husband surprised me for Valentine's Day with an overnight in Pittsburgh....an amazing restaurant, the Pittsburgh Symphony, a beautiful hotel, shopping....it was heavenly. I love him so much.)

And many more moments to come.......

Winter Wonderland

One of the joys of living in a winter wonderland is, of course, playing in the snow! The girls LOVE to go sledding, and lucky for them, their school lets them go sledding on the hill behind the school building for recess....how cool is that!

Here's some footage from our sledding outings this winter:

(Uncle Scott came for the fun too!)

Giving Thanks....

This year, and every year, we give thanks for family. My sister Kristin, her husband Greg, and son Jacob came to share Thanksgiving with us! We LOVED having them in our home...baking, playing, watching movies, visiting into the night, exploring Amish country, and oh yeah...eating!

What does it say that we took a picture of the pies, but not the people???? :)

The kids were enthralled with the Amish buggys...they counted at least 60 throughout the day:

Jake getting ready to give us a ride:

The Amish country store had puppies for sale...the girls begged, but lost:

We visited some Amish furniture stores. Such beautiful furniture! Greg and Kristin contemplate whether to buy this piece...: (JK)

We love you, Fenn's!! Thank you for coming and playing with us....

Apples Galore.....and More

We love, love, love Fall! Here's a sample of our festivities and fun....

Apple picking at our favorite farm:

A trip to the temple to enjoy the colors:

We took family drives to look at leaves and went To Peek and Peak's Fall Festival:

Can't wait for another Fall full of apple pie!

Zoo Boo

(Elli's cat, Matt's spider, and Ashlan's wolf)

We celebrated Halloween at the zoo this year! Our local zoo puts on what's called "Zoo Boo", and you can go trick or treating throughout the zoo. The girls loved it, and we got to share it with some furry friends too!

Hermione and Gabriella with their skeleton friend:

The lions were out:

The polar bear was obviously very into the Halloween festivities:

We also had a "trunk or treat" at our church:

Brian Wilson stopped by to visit the party (Go Giants!!):

I had a girlfriend's Halloween party I was invited to as well....we were asked to dress up representing an "era" of the past....I just couldn't pass up dressing as a portrayal of my youth...oh, the 80's....(makes me cringe when I look at it because it's so opposite the real me!) :):

And to top it off...Ashlan was able to wear her costume to ice-skating practice:

Happy Halloween!

For Those We Love

I'm sure it is no secret that I have a lot to catch up on here on the blog! Life has been FULL....which is how I like it....but I want to sit and breathe and remember, so you're going to get a wonderful variety of posts today! I was looking at these pictures the other day, and realized I had never posted about them.

We ran in the Susan G. Komen "Race for the Cure" last June in Buffalo, in honor of my dear friend, Amy. It is a memory most sweet to us, and it was sincerely an honor to share it with her and so many others that we love. It stirred the heart...seeing so many women stand together, having fought or still fighting....

Our family, decked out in pink and sporting "Team Hulse" bandanas:

The queenly quad (Ashlan, Afton, Elli, Ella):

The whole team at the finish line:

I love you Amy dear!:
