1. Still have not managed to get my carpets cleaned.
2. Is hunting season over yet?
3. While at my Mom's house last Sunday Madi commented that she thought Lilly's bottom tooth was coming through. Sure enough, Monday evening when I checked again I found that her bottom left tooth had broken through. Wednesday night I realized that one of her top teeth had also broken through. Poor thing. I can only imagine how painful that must be, and to be honest, she has been a champ.
4. Can't believe that first term is almost over.
5. Lilly has reached the "stranger danger" stage.
6. So excited for another nephew. Cohen is going to have a baby brother in April.
7. Pat threw a great Halloween party on Tuesday night. The kids looked so cute in their costumes. A decent photo with all three of them turned out to be impossible.
8. I'm so sad I'll be missing the annual "deer hunt" breakfast at Little America this Sunday. Somehow we managed to plan the primary program on the weekend of the deer hunt.
9. I love watching Olivia interact with Lilly. She just loves her and lights up every time she sees her. She continually asks to babysit and is always "protecting" her from Will.
10. Spent a great afternoon yesterday at Gardner's Village with Lilly, Meg and kids.

The Run-down
1. Working is hard. Being a mom is hard. Being a working mom is quadruply hard.
2. Lilly is sitting up, but gets a little tipsy if she leans to the sides.
3. I'm so lucky that while I'm working Lilly is happy, safe and loved at Meg's house.
4. I've been thinking for the last little while about dying my hair red. You know, like auburn red (not brownish maroon). I've been feeling really mommy-ish and have decided I need a big change. The only thing stopping me is the thought of the upkeep.
5. Lilly is a smart one. She has realized that there is no need to take a bottle during the day while I'm at work because she can just keep me up all night to nurse her.
6. I made some really cute candy corn cupcakes today. I love Halloween.
7. Lilly is going to be a witch for Halloween. Grandma Pat bought her an adorable orange and black costume and I can't wait to put her in it.
8. No teeth yet for Lilly and her eye color is still undetermined.
9. Gub is busy as ever with work, baseball, and more baseball.
10. My carpets need to be cleaned SO bad! That's going to be top priority this week. I wish I could afford to replace the carpet in my house with hardwood floors... maybe some day.

California
1. Received a call last week that our AP US History teacher had quit. Yep, you guessed it. With only three weeks for preparation I was suckered into the job.
2. Really excited that my mom will no longer be working Fridays.
3. Spent four days this week at an AP conference in Palos Verdes California. It was beautiful. Gub and Lilly flew out with me. Lilly did great on her first plane ride. Gub gets the Father of the Year award for not only watching Lilly while I was at the conference, but for driving her to me several times a day so I could feed her.
4. After the AP conference we drove to Malibu so Gub could work a baseball camp at Pepperdine University. What a beautiful campus. The baseball field overlooks the Pacific Ocean. We'll be heading home tomorrow evening.
5. Have decided to start feeding Lilly solids next week when we get home.
6. Sad that we had to miss the Nelson family trip to Park City.
7. Lilly in finally taking a bottle
8. Saw some pictures of me in a bathing suit this week. They were scary. I mean, I knew I was white, but wow! Gub told me my job over the next few days is to spend at least an hour a day in the sun.
9. Not ready for school to start but am looking forward to fall.
10. Wishing we had a Chipotle in Spanish Fork. Yum, I love it!

4 Month Check Up
A not so fun afternoon at the dr's office. For some reason Lilly was really upset before the shots even began. The nurse was obviously bugging her and I'm sure it didn't help that she didn't get her afternoon nap. Check out the red blotches all over her face from crying so hard -- like mother, like daughter. If you know me well you know that anytime I cry my checks become covered in the same red splotches.
4 Month Stats:
14 lbs 4 oz - 60th Percentile
25.5 inches - 87th Percentile

August, already??
1. Lilly and I spent a great weekend in St. George with my parents, Seth and Amanda, and Maddie. Unfortunately Gub had to work.
2. Came home from St. George with an awful cold. It just doesn't feel right to have a cold in August.
3. Nursing + Cold = Misery. Is a simple dose of NyQuil too much to ask for?
4. Last week Lilly rolled from her back to tummy. This week she mastered the roll from tummy to back.
5. I have almost completed the top of my quilt. This is a huge considering the fact that I bought the fabric months and months ago and did not start it until this week.
6. Lilly has discovered how to take out her own binki. The only problem is that she can't get it back in.
7. Gub and I watched the kiddos last night while Meagan attended her 10 year reunion. It's scary to think that my own 10 year reunion is fast approaching. Am I really that old?
8. Maddie stood on the scale with Lilly this week and said she (lilly) weighs about 15 pounds. Her four month appointment is tomorrow and I can't wait to see if that really could be true.
9. Gub has been working really hard this summer It seems like he has worked a million baseball camps (softball too). I'm not sure how he handles the long hours and hot sun. I think it's safe to say that he is camped-out!
10. Is it really August already?
11. Lilly's eye color: still undetermined

Update
1. Phew...the rodeo is finally over.
2. Lilly is such a content baby. She likes to be held, but she also loves to just lay on the floor (on her back of course -- tummy time is too much work).
3. I've been contmeplating cutting Lilly's troll hair, but I just can't bring myself to do it. For some reason I'm kind of attached.
4. Lilly can grab her toes and it's so cute!
5. Gub's knee scope went great except for the huge rash he got on the back of his knee. He obviously had a reaction, but we're not quite sure what it was to.
6. Gub has become quite the smoker (meat smoker, that is). I bought him a smoker for Father's Day and it's quickly become the most used/liked present I've ever given him. His hickory brown sugar ribs with homemade bbq sauce are my favorite.
7. I honestly have the best family ever! There is no way I could pull off the rodeo funraiser without all the help from my family. Thank you!
8. Madison saw Justin Bieber in concert this weekend in Las Vegas. She definitely has Bieber fever!
9. Lilly rolled over from her back to her tummy this week.
10. Olivia walked into my house this week and said, "Wendi, your house a mess." Gotta love their honesty.

The Latest
I've decided that I need to do better at updating my blog. Not because anyone else cares about my ordinary life (not that there's anything wrong with ordinary. In fact, I'm perfectly happy with ordinary), but because time seems to moving way too fast and it scares me. Because it's the writing that I detest, I'm taking a cue from some of my blogging friends (thanks Whitney and others) and making it a goal to at least jot down a quick list of what's going on in my life. A run-down, so to speak, of the latest happenings, even if they are boring and ordinary. Hopefully I can keep it up!
1. I love, love, love being a mom.
2. Lilly is officially giggling and reaching for things.
3. Gub is having his knee scoped on Monday.
4. Preparing for the big Rodeo fundraiser next week.
5. I think I lost a nursing pad at the grocery store today. Oops. Is that what those sticky things are for?
6. It's barely noon and I've already had two cans of Diet Pepsi.
7. Wishing I were better at finishing projects.
8. Finally going to check out the cake store on Main Street today.
9. Lilly is waking up three times a night again and it's killing me! No amount of sleep makes up for getting up every 2-3 hours. She had been sleeping the entire night or waking just once so it must be a growth spurt or something. I hope she gets back into the groove.
10. So excited my bff is in town.
11. I've tried several times, with no success, to give Lilly a bottle. I knew I should have started earlier but life just got in the way. I'm really worried about what will happen when I go back to work. Meagan promises that she won't tell me how bad she cries on that first day.
