Family Life
Kudos to my son Keith, for finishing his first half marathon in 1:52:40. He ran the Salt Lake City Marathon with his father in law Tom. Great job to you both!!
It's been a bit since I last posted on my family happenings. This was our Easter egg coloring night. The girls were so fun. I think they would have done 20 dozen eggs if I would have had them. I tried a new way of coloring this year. I found it on Pinterest. I used Cool Aid. The only problem was I couldn't find some of the colors so we were limited. The yellow was too light to make a difference, but the red, orange and greens were beautiful.
I didn't think we would be able to do our egg hunt. The weather was so up and down. It was a little cool, but at least there was no snow. Kate was a pro at finding the eggs. Megan needed just a little help. She still walks past the bushes and points to them. I remember after last years egg hunt, Kate talked about going out and doing an egg hunt for months.
Oh how I love my little family. I don't know what people do without their family. It's been a ruff month and they are the one's I turn to for love and support when anything goes wrong. I love you to the moon and back!!

Our Love for JaKelle!
My post today is in honor of my niece Jakelle Michelle Westergard. She is in the Phoenix Children's hospital in the ICU. She is very ill and we are going yellow to show our love and support for her. It's overwhelming to see the love and support that has been shown for her. I will try to post more about her story a little later, but today I'm turning my blog yellow for her. I love you JaKelle! Keep fighting!!

Happy Valentine's Day
Last evening for family home evening we had our Valentines dinner and
caught some cute pictures of family. We had fun with some
glow sticks, but none of the pictures turned out.
Keith and Sara are two of the most photogenic people I know.

Remembering my Father
Today is my father's 86th birthday. Mt father, Lincoln Haacke was born on Pres. Lincoln's birthday at his childhood home in Woods Cross. I have thought so much of him today. Maybe because it's Sunday, and he loved Sunday's. My father had alzheimer's and his days all became jumbled. We would find him driving to the church, almost on a daily basis, dressed in his white shirt and tie ready for sacrament meeting. Even after we took his keys away I would go to their house to see my parents, and he would be dressed ready to go to church.
As we visited for ward conference today they had a group of men that sang a special number. I could hear my father's voice singing. He had a beautiful base voice and loved music. I remember how I loved to hear he and his sister, Betty play duets on the piano. I guess that's why I love music so much. There was always music in our home, both my father and mother played the piano and loved to sing.
Love you Dad

Life is Good
I know these are late, but I am trying to be better at keeping a family journal and the blog is the best way I know how. These are a few pictures of the girls during the month of January. We had a sleep over and some fun Friday nights together. I sure love these two sweet angels. They can always make me smile. Life is grand!
I got this one of Megan in a hurry, because she won't keep anything on her head or around her neck.

The Circus is in Town!
Last night for Family night we ventured out to the Farmington Fair grounds. The Jordan World Circus was in town and we thought it would be fun.
We purchased our tickets and found a seat, and while we were waiting for it to start we went down front where they were giving Elephant rides, Pony rides, and face painting.
For a small town circus it wasn't bad. Although I couldn't help but wonder what kind of life these people led? What brought them to the circus? Good thing we had our coats. It's cold in there.
The girls loved seeing the animals up close. Megan would have walked right up to them if we would have let her.

Happy New Years!!
The new year is off and running and I have yet to set my new years resolutions. Busy with school, work, young women's and family. I hope I get around to it before the month is over. I didn't set any last year and I didn't give much purpose to my year. I don't always stick to them, but I best write them down so I have a focus. At least it makes me feel better.
Well, Happy New Years to you and may this year bring much prosperity, Joy, and love in all your homes and families!
