Christmas Day/Night

Christmas morning is always nice because we don't have to leave to go to Papa/Pia's or Nana's until later in the afternoon. So we spend the morning in our PJ's and play, put the kids down for naps, shower and get ready and then go! I couldn't imagine having to hurry and open gifts, hurry and get ready and then hurry and leave. With my older brother (that has disowned us) we would have to be at his house at 9:00am, we would open gifts, eat, and then kinda be kicked out at 12:30 so the kids could nap. It was almost like it was an obligation for them to have us over. Now take into account that their kids were the only babies and we ADORED them and I always felt kinda cheated out of watching them enjoy and play...it was just so...routine? Not relaxing AT.ALL. Here are the babies all dressed to go to Nana's for Christmas. Hazel's dress is darling and Hagen looks as handsome as ever.

Here is Nana and her Grandbabies. So sweet that Hagen is the token boy...the girls both love the kids so much and are like little mothers to them. I can hardly get Hagen to smile normal anymore...I get the fake smile or strained look.

Here is Ryan with his sister Kristen. She is the most perfect person I have known. Honestly, she would do anything for anyone, is a FABULOUS teacher, hard worker, goes to church religiously and participates. One thing that she needs to do is learn to say NO. She takes on so much and spreads herself out so thin. I love this girl...I'm so happy to have her in my life. Ryan thinks she is pretty special too. They live in Frisco, but we don't see them that often! Her kids are older and have tons of activities and she is busy with her commitments and then there is us with two littles and working.

Family picture on Christmas...see what I mean about Hagen's smiling? I think he is over the camera! I still can't believe we have 2 kids...looking at family photos is just so special. LOVE my hubby and babies!

So we get to Nana's around 2:30, open gifts, eat, clean up and then we go to Ryan's Aunt and Uncle's house...just 4 houses away. It was the first time that Ryan's cousin Shannon had met Hazel. I think she liked her. Here is Aunt Karen and Shannon checking out Hazel's shoes. I had gotten her some Stuart Weitzman black patton shoes with a big black flower and a rhinestone for Christmas Day...she would not keep them on! I was heartbroken...they were DARLING. So she had on Zebra Stride Rite shoes in her Christmas dress. :( Shannon is really into fashion so the clothes that she picks out for the kids are always SO cute! She lives in Austin with her husband Phil.

We had some drinks and desert and watched a video of Pappy's 90th birthday party. It was a great time! We had to leave around 8:00 because Hazel was done. We had a great time and both kids were really good so it was fine.

What a wonderful holiday season! To be honest, I'm ready to take all the decorations down. I just feel like everything is so dusty with it up! I may talk Ryan into starting that tomorrow. He likes waiting until after the 1st, but I'm ready now.

Christmas morning!

Santa came! It was so easy this year as there were not really too many things to put together. I did shopping throughout the past 3-4 months so it wasn't a big rush either which is killer! Hagen's loot:
Tee Pee
Digger thing for yard
Lincoln Logs
Darth Vader clock
Bat Mobile
Bow and Arrow - Nerf
Shotgun - Nerf
learning tablet
remote control moon
coloring books and dry erase crayon activity book
Rocket
Bouncy ball thing
He loved it all! We were so excited to see him so excited. When we woke him up he said, "Is it time? I think I heard some banging last night...maybe it was Santa?"

When he first came downstairs he quickly looked at his stuff and then ran over to Hazel's stash and was pointing out her goodies to her. She stood there clueless and drooly with a heavy diaper.

Hazel got:

crawl through tube

TONS of hand me down books I saved of Hagen's

Refrigerator farm thing

Purse and some jewelry

Brickle blocks

Giraffe rocker

Aqua doodle

Puzzles

Dino bounce ball thing

Henrietta the Hen

Push toy that isn't too noisy!!

Baby iPhone...

I have been looking and looking for brickle blocks FOREVER! I couldn't find them until Mom called one day and found some and ordered them...and they came in their own little box!

I think one of Hagen's favorite things to open is his stocking. I remember liking it too because it usually had some candy in it!!

It was SO fun this year because Hagen got it...he understood and was so excited. Kirby the Elf is back at the North Pole and oh how I wish he would stay year round. Hagen's listening has been less than stellar and Hazel has been a handful too. BUT I wouldn't trade them in for anything. I am so thankful for Hagen and Hazel and love them to pieces! Can't wait until next Christmas and see if Hazel gets it!

Tata,

Carrie

P.S. The guns and bow and arrow are only for when Hazel is not around (sleeping or out with me). There is a target on the back door that is where he can shoot it. It is alot more powerful than we thought it would be! Ryan put Rudolph on the door last night to aim for...nice...

Hagen's gifts for Ryan and I

So this year we told Hagen he needed to shop for Ryan and I for Christmas presents. Ryan took him shopping for me and I got:
1. a pine cone ball - it is about the size of a basketball and it all pine cones

2. a girl nutcracker that is dressed up as a Hawaiian girl...pink grass skirt, pink coconut bra, and lei...her cleavage is where the nuts are cracked...hmm...

3. Hello Kitty capri fleece PJ bottoms

4. an Oscar the grouch t-shirt that is WAY small...I'll exchange it for a larger one

5. a snow globe

6. a potted bulb

7. Chap stick necklace

Ryan kept the receipt and we were just going to take things back and get credit, but I am going to keep everything and exchange the shirt for a larger size. That nutcracker girl will be in the family for years to come. Now I need to figure out where I can hang a large ball of pine cones? Crafty ladies? Any ideas?

I took Hagen to Home Depot for Ryan's. He got:
1. A hammer with a cutting thing on one end

2. a large pair of utility scissors

3. a pair of gloves

4. some hose clamps?!?

5. a box with different size screw driver head things

He was so excited about shopping for us! When we first went into home depot he was looking at the circular saws...out of the price range which was $50. He did have a large ceiling fan duster that I was able to put back after he forgot about it.

I love this new tradition! It is so fun to see what he comes up with!

Christmas Eve

This year is the year that my brother Adam (the nice one) goes to NC to visit his wife's family, so we spend Christmas Eve with my parents! I remember 2 years ago it snowed and was the prettiest eve EVER! It almost snowed this year, but not quite. Both kids had strep so it was good to have a laid back day. Mom made her famous Cheese Soup, we baked potatoes in the crock pot, and Ryan smoked a brisket! Yes, we will probably be burned out on smoked stuff soon enough, but not yet.

They got over around 2:00 and we immediately started opening gifts. Hazel still hasn't figured out how to open things but luckily Hagen was there to open them for her! He would be so cute and say, "Hazel, look! Aww how sweet Hazel...it's a baby!" and stuff like that. I think he was actually more excited for her to get her gifts than he was for his own!! Mom and Dad got him the V-tech tablet and he loves it. I'm hoping it will keep him off our iPad. Most of their things they get the kids is for us to put out from Santa...HUGE help!! They truly don't care if it is known to be from them...

After we ate, the kids got in their Christmas PJ's, Hagen put out the cookies (SO STALE) he made last week, put out the reindeer food, and then they cozied up to Papa on the couch and read "Twas the Night Before Christmas"...Hazel even sat still!

Mom got this book and dog thing that is SO cute. Her and Hagen were reading it together. At certain words/phrases in the book the dog barks, growls, squeeks, whatever. It is so cute!!

Hazel went to bed at 6:45 and Hagen said he was ready for bed too! So around 7:00 all the toys from the attic were being put out. It was nice having Mom and Dad there to see what all the got for the kids! I do the shopping and so most of the stuff they don't see. Dad was on teepee duty, Mom was on stocking duty, I was on arrangement duty, and Ryan was putting together random toys. We were done in NO time! We didn't have any really hard to put together things this year!

Dad told me one year after we went to bed he had to put together a swing set. The box said "3 easy steps!" Well, step one was to bolt the 1,000's of bolts together...he said it was a nightmare.

Thanks Mom and Dad for once again a wonderful Christmas. We loved having you over and look forward to our "Eve" day in 2 more years!!

Love,

Carrie

Cookie Decorating and exchanging gifts with cousins

Noah and Emily will be visiting family in NC this year so we met before they left and decorated cookies for Santa and exchanged gifts! The gap between the girls is slowly filling up! They get so excited to see each other. Hazels ponies are getting longer and Em's curls are coming in fast!! Hagen and Hazel gave Em and Noah personalized books with their faces in them. Hazel got a cute pink outfit with poodles on it and Hagen got a t-shirt with Spider man AND Captain America! It was a huge hit! I also gave Adam and Rebecca salt dough ornaments...I couldn't resist. My brother has started...wait for it...collecting coins! Ha! He loves it and is finding some really old coins. So I found an ornament that was for a coin collector. I got Rebecca one that is a girl with a camera since she has started a photography business. So happy for her because she is so good...and loves it!

Ryan smoked a briscuit and a chicken so we had that for dinner. The kids are growing up so fast! Here they are having a private meal at their very own kid table. Emily is even using a fork now!

I can't wait to eavesdrop on the conversations here in a few years...

Here they are decorating cookies...Hagen made Hazel some smaller ones and she just ate them but we pretended she was decorating too. Noah and Em don't know but Santa is coming that night! About a week early, but they had to before they left on their flight.

So, we decorated cookies just in the nick of time. Tell you what, the volume in the house with all 4 of them now vocal is out of control. Mostly tile over there so it just ECHOS and is LOUD! It's funny because Hagen and Noah run around, Emily is following, and bringing up the rear is Hazel trying to keep up. So glad they are going to grow up together.

Tata,

Carrie

Polar Express

We did Polar Express this year again! It is a train in Grapevine that takes you on seriously like a 20 minute ride. It is short but perfect! The kids all had matching PJ's on...Hazel and Emily in red and the boys in green. It was POURING outside so Rain boots for the boys! Here is Hazel and Papa!!
Sweet Hazel was getting so sleepy. I had to take Sophie with us (who is usually in her bed ONLY) because the ride was late and WAY past her bedtime. It was a good thing I did!!

The kids watching a show before boarding the train! Hazel got a second wind and was walking around and dancing quite a bit!!!

Here are the kids about to board the train...aren't they cute?? I still can't believe we have kids the same gender and so close in age...what are the odds????

Uncle Adam is one of Hazel's favorite. She just stares at him and you can tell she just loves him!! So glad to have such great aunts and uncles in the kids lives...

Papa and Pia came along this year. I think they were impressed! We met at Cantina Larado before hand to eat and then headed to Grapevine. I think this will be a tradition for years to come! I hope so at least.

Carrie

wrapping up the end of the year

So I'm wrapping up the end of the year...doing some organizing at the office, etc. I've got a huge Christmas Zit and it keeps bleeding since it is in a spot where if I move any muscle in my face it cracks it. I look swell. OH, and I had my hair in a sock bun on the tippy top of my head 2 days in a row. I am just looking fabulous at work lately.

I went to pick Hagen up from school yesterday and he was in time out reading a book. When his eyes met mine he had the SADDEST look on his face. I took him out into the hallway and asked him why he was in time out. He had the quiver lip and eyes filled to the brim with tears. "I don't know Mama." I asked him if he really didn't know or if he was afraid to tell me. I followed it up with he needs to tell me everything and that I would be very upset if he hid anything from me. Also that if he didn't tell me and I had to ask the teacher I wouldn't be happy. He started crying that "cant catch my breath" cry and said he wasn't being a good listener and the teacher told him to put centers away and come sit on his name and he didn't. I thanked him for telling me and said no shows tonight. and that was it...easy peasy.

Hazel has figured out how to take backward steps. It is so cute to watch...it looks like she is trying to do the moon walk.

Hazel also LOVES the Yeti or however you spell it on the old Rudolph show...you know that big white snow monster? Smiles and laughs when he is on the TV.

Hagen called me Peanut Butter Underpants one day when he was mad at me...Oooooooo....scary.

Hagen has been making alot of ornaments lately. I got some at Hobby Lobby for a cold afternoon when Ryan was out of town. He colored it and put glitter glue on it and was so proud! Well, one night Hagen was going potty standing up (if you know what I mean). Hazel came in with the ornament in her hands...looked at Hagen...and dropped his ornament in the stream. He was sad...but surprisingly not angry! Hazel laughed...I stifled in a laugh while fishing out the ornament...and Hagen told Hazel it is not nice to tee tee on ornaments! That's Right Hagen...that's right...

Ryan got a year review and it was very positive. He has worked so hard this year and missed out of some firsts of Miss Hazel. I'm glad that he has a job that he enjoys and likes and the feelings are mutual.

So Ryan and I have been doing our date nights on the patio wrapped up in blankets with a heater on lately. We just love it outside because it feels like we are away. Plus, It is snore city if I am inside on the couch drinking. Hagen has been joining us some and cozying up and watching football. He said he loves date night! I remember growing up my parents would have steak night and alot of times it was after we were in bed. I remember being so jealous of the marinated mushrooms and the avocado with this special dressing my mom would make to put over it! Weird huh? I was jealous of marinated mushrooms and avocado salad...

Hagen started playing soccer! I wish everyone could see how ADORABLE he is in his biker shorts "soccer underware" that he wears under his shorts. It is indoor soccer so it is not cold. Ryan has been taking him mostly and I stay home because his games are at 8:00am so we have to leave around 7:15...Miss Hazel and I like our sleep. I took him last week because I wanted to go and also to let Ryan sleep in a bit. It was adorable...like little ants running around. They got creamed...but were having fun. Hagen kicks and then falls on purpose. Plus, he is tackling...the opponets AND his teammates. Even if they don't have the ball...weirdo. We are working on trying all the sports out and seeing which one he likes best. Will be interesting! After the games Ryan gets him a slurpee and chips...it's 9:00 freaking o'clock in the morning people! I was mortified that I had to do so...it is an "atta boy" for Hagen.

I sent my older brother a note through LinkedIn last week..."Hey Matt, with the holidays here you have been on my mind alot. I just wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas. Love, Carrie"....nothing...I sent a Christmas card also as I have every year. I'm not surprised at no response, but it just blows my mind that he is gone...but only lives about 10 minutes from me...

Hagen NEVER got into cabinets except for the Tupperware cabinet which I let him get into. Hazel? She is into EVERYTHING she is not supposed to be into. So this week the locks went on the cabinets...which is a huge thorn in my side. We have the ones that you use the magnet to unlock...BEATING.

"Hazel, what does Santa say?"
"Ha Ha Ha"
too cute

Hagen and I went on a date the other night. He took a shower, put his PJ's on and we went through Starbucks drive thru for Hot Chocolate and drove around in the rain looking at lights! Ryan is so Bah Humbug and doesn't like lights...Hazel goes to be early so it was just Hagen and I! We like the Christmas carols and looking at lights so really it was best that it was just us two. Ryan needs to get a grip and realize that he will have to do things even if he doesn't like it because it is about the KIDS and not him...dipshit...

In the morning I tell the kids lets go to school! I then put hats and coats on. Well now when I say "Let's go to school" Hazel walks fast to the hat box and picks out her hat and tries to put it on and walks to the back door. She is so cute...growing up way fast

This is so random...I just had alot of thoughts on my mind...

Holiday traditions

I've been horrible about posting things! Life is busy...good and busy so it leaves me little time to talk about what is going on!

Hagen is just sweet. He is having some issues with his listening skills so I have to make sure and make him look me in the eyes and give him specific instructions. Like this morning. "Hagen, I need you to brush your teeth, put these shoes on, and pick out a holiday book to take to school. Got it? OK, now what do you need to do?" He repeats and slowly does what is asked. He is just like me in that he has a million things floating in his mind and it is hard to concentrate...I get it.

Hazel is walking like a pro now. She has even started trying to run or walk very fast. She is the cutest little walker ever!! She is saying the sound of "H" when we ask her what Santa says. She is also sounding out a "D" when she sees Dapper, but that is pretty much her extent on talking. I'm sure she is going to be talking our ears off soon enough so we will just wait. She also just popped her 5th tooth!

I wanted to make a list of some of our holiday traditions and talk about some new ones we have going on!
1. Kirby our Elf has been here since Thanksgiving night. I'm not sure if Hagen cares this year to be honest. He likes to look for him in the morning and then when I say "Hagen, Kirby saw that" if he is up to no good he just kinda shrugs it off.

2. I love decorating the tree every year! I like to see our ornaments from the years past. To be honest I stress out about the yearly ornaments every year! This year I couldn't find a salt dough person. People kept saying for me to make them...they don't understand that these look like homemade, but not like crap...they are detailed and just not something I want to do. Hagen's this year is Batman and Hazel's is a little girl in a Christening gown.

3. Christmas Eve we are having my parents over to our house. We have decided that Ryan will smoke a brisket, Mom will make her famous cheese soup, and I will put baked potatoes in the crock pot and have some snacks. We don't want to be cooking all day...we just want to chill, drink, and eat. I can't wait and honestly love spending the day with my family and my parents...it is calm and relaxing.

4. Hagen is already excited about putting out reindeer food for Santa and the reindeer.

5. OK, people will be so jealous on this one. My parents give us money for Santa. They pay for Santa's gifts. So basically we don't spend money on the kids because Papa and Pia do it! They tell us to go shopping for the kids and they pay for it. It is wonderful!! Then they get things for the kids that they need or just stuff they want to get them. It is not that exciting sometimes to be honest. It's not like they give them the toy of their dreams...but they don't care. They want Santa to be the true hero. I just can't wait till the day to say, "you know all those fabulous gifts Santa brought you? Your Papa and Pia are the true Santa's". Of course it will be when they are way older...I can't wait to help Hagen and Hazel out with Santa when they have a family of their own...it means so much!

6. Our Santa gifts are all unwrapped and displayed. Most are out of the box and put together. I HATE having all the wrapping, twist ties, boxes, etc. Nice to have them all ready to play with!

7. Ryan and I skip gifts for each other. We are just so opposite that it is stressful. We do things throughout the year and would much rather focus on the family. BUT we have a new thing this year. Ryan will take Hagen to Target with $50 and tell him to shop for me...anything he wants to get me. I will then do the same for Ryan. I can't wait to blog about what he picked out!! Could be hilarious...

8. This year is Ryan's mom to have us for Christmas Day. I have a great time and love his family, but it is so hard to not have the holidays like you grew up knowing. It is sad that my parents will be alone on Christmas Day (My brother will be in NC with his wife's family). But it is good that on the year that we DO spend Christmas with my parents is when Adam's family is in town and is there too. I think that is one of the hard parts of getting married is switching holidays...Ryan and I started doing this when we started dating...

9. So my Dad gets envelopes with $100 in each to hand out to strangers that look like they could use some help. I have decided to do this also and can not WAIT to do so! Honestly, if you have a little money to spare this holiday season, put a chunk in an envelope, drive to an area that is needy, and pull over and hand an envelope that says "Merry Christmas" to a stranger...there is no feeling that matches it. Make sure the drive away and not look back...you will feel wonderful.

That's what I can think of for now...

Carrie

Thanksgiving 2011!

What? I know...I am a terrible blogger!!
This year we spent Thanksgiving at my brother Adam's house. We fried 2 turkeys and everyone brought over a side and an appetiser or desert. I can honestly say that it was the most stress free Thanksgiving to date!! The kids eat first and then go watch a movie and then the adults eat. Hazel took a rest while we ate so it was relaxing.

Of course, wherever the festivities are there is a path of destruction that is made. The boys and Emily really got into all the toys and they were strung out all over the house!!! We had to make sure that the toys were kicked the the edges to make sure we didn't step on them and break our necks!!

Hazel sported 2 pony's for the first time. Not sure if I like it. Kinda looks like Shrek to me...not her, the hair. In the picture above she is VERY sleepy. I had just woken her up from her winter nap and we were about to head home.

The boys are at such a fun age! They love playing together and are SO.LOUD. BUT that is what cousins do. I wish they remain the best of friends forever. They truly love each other, but also get on each other's nerves!

I am so thankful...just with everything. I have a wonderful hubby, beautiful and healthy kids, a fabulous job and work schedule, a comfy house, and the best family and friends I could wish for. I just feel so blessed and thankful for everything that my life has turned out to be. Except my little boobs and saggy rear...but I will take that.

Hazel is 1 year old!

I'm not going to do all that "how did the time go by so fast" crap...but it's true...
Sweet Hazel Grace, you are 1 year old! It's actually a few days past your 1st birthday but you didn't have your 1 year well check until last night and I wanted to put that in this post.

Your brother loves you so much! Loves to kiss you...hug you...put things on his head so you walk to him to get it. Yes, you are walking! Not all the time, but you can if you want to. I swear you will be walking around to anyone and everyone and then I come in and you plop down because you know I'll scoop you right up...very true. You are like my ventriloquist doll...always on my side.

For your birthday party we had the family over for Rudy's BBQ and some Bundt cakes. You weren't so sure about your cake but you played with it for a bit. You got some cute outfits, some toys, and a silver cup and silverware. The outfits you got were DARLING! One of MY favorite gifts you got was a journal that Pia wrote for me. When I was going through some PPD I was stressed out about not having your baby book as updated as Hagen's. Mom said not to worry...now I know why. She started a journal months before I found out I was pregnant with you! Talking about having another baby, all the way through all of your firsts, your weights at Dr.'s Appointments, her feelings for having you in her life, etc. It is honestly one of the most special gifts I have EVER received!!

Some things to note about your first year:

  • You take short naps at school, but your teacher hands you some board books to look at in your crib and you are quiet so your friends can sleep

  • You started wearing shoes...I am a firm believer in no shoes while learning to walk...but with it getting colder I need something to keep your socks on

  • You have 2 top teeth and 2 bottom teeth

  • You have been off bottles since you were about 10 months old

  • You transitioned to Whole Milk this week and have had no issues

  • You still have your giraffe paci for nap and nighttime...I am wondering when I should cut that out. Never had to do it with Hagen as he was not a paci baby

  • I love putting your hair in a pony on top of your head...I will not cut bangs...I will not cut bangs...I will not cut bangs...

  • You love your bunny chair and Hagen's puppy chair...you tackle, love on it, give it kisses...etc. Best baby gift ever!

  • You really enjoy your bath

  • A special time of day with you is after your bath and PJ's you and I sit in Great Grandma Hazel Grace's chair and we read books. You like the books where you can pet them...the ones that have fur on the animals, etc. You love looking at books!

  • You are such a good eater and especially when it comes to fruit and pasta...you were not that into formula but you LOVE milk...you come from a family of big milk drinkers and I think you will fit in just fine!

  • You have started to dance...just bouncing really, but it is so cute

  • Dapper pisses you off with his tail knocking you over...

You rarely cry...it is usually because you are tired Your stats from the doctor:

Weight: 16 pounds 7.5 ounces (0%)

Height: 28 3/4 inches (35%)

Head: 17 3/4 inches (48%)

They are a bit concerned with your weight (here we go AGAIN) so I am taking you in for a weight check in a month. We did this with your brother and it PISSED me off because it is just how the babies in our family grow...slow.

One last thing Hazel, I wasn't sure about having a girl...I had it in my mind that there was no way to have a girl and I was going to have all boys (with both of my brothers having one of each...what are the odds I would too). When I found out you were a girl I kinda panicked...just thought of how I was going to have to protect you from Internet predators, make sure your clothes were appropriate, worry about you going on a date, being really cute like your Mama and being really niave like me too, etc. I didn't really think about all the positives of having a girl. You have been everything I ever wanted and I didn't know...my life is complete with you. I know that sounds corny, but I am just in love with you. Happy Birthday Hazel!!

Love,

Mama

Halloween!

Fun Halloween this year! I think next year will be even better because Hazel will be 2 and can go out trick or treating with the cousins! Here is a picture of Hazel and her BFF Sophie. They don't smile...very serious...but they liked the parade and got lots of smiles and Aww's...
Hagen got to hold Annalisa's hand...she was Hello Kitty! he was SO excited as you can see. Loved having his family "fan club" front and center to greet him!

Miss Piggy didn't even mind her hat...I was shocked! She looked ADORABLE!! I loved her little costume...

Hagen looks so grown up below!! So heroic and handsome. He was SUPER stoked about trick or treating. Ryan took him to Noah's house to go with him and Emily. They have way more fun together. I stayed home to pass out candy and put Hazel to bed. Sista isn't feeling good. Hopefully those Antibiotics work on those ears! I fear they aren't!

This is probably the last kissy pic of the boys. Adam and Ryan had a fit when Rebecca asked them to kiss! It's time to grow up and man up and no more kissing. :(

We didn't have that many trick or treaters this year! We live on a culdsac and the houses at the beginning of it had their lights out. We all had our lights on and lots of candy, but alot of families didn't want to walk down the street to our's. boo!

So Hagen had to take his costume to school and not wear it until before the parade (which was at 4:00). Well, when he took it off last night he wasn't wearing any under ware! I guess he striped COMPLETELY when he changed! Took Captain Inappropriate to a whole new level!!

Hazel's Baptism

Sweet baby Hazel Grace was FINALLY baptised this past weekend! We had some scheduling conflicts with Ryan's traveling and getting the required class in (only offered once a month) and then setting a date. She wore a BEAUTIFUL dress bought by my parents...long, smocked, detailed...just perfect! Here she goes!
Hagen was so proud...he was curious and it was interesting explaining it to him as we are TERRIBLE about going to church...we need to get our crap together!! The water was warm so she didn't cry much...just a little...

I love this picture...so sweet...
My brother is the Godfather and Aunt Kristen is the Godmother of both Hagen and Hazel...

Here she is enjoying some celebratory cake! Practicing for her big birthday in a week...what?!

The bib she is wearing while eating her cake says "future nun". Aunt Kristen got it for her and it is adorable! She received some precious things...a cross necklace, a pearl bracelet, a silver cuff, a cute picture frame, some books, and a beautiful cross for her room.

She had a double ear infection and I had a cold. The ladies were not feeling very good at all! But it was a beautiful day and the kids behaved very well.

That night after the family left I was outside letting the dog out and I looked up in the sky and saw a shooting star. I believe that Great Grandma Hazel Grace Adams was sending me a sign that she witnessed the baptism and is so proud...

Pumpkin Patch

So this past weekend we went to the pumpkin patch! Ryan was out of town so I loaded up the kids in the wagon and met Adam and family there. We had a great time! Although, Hagen has had better days...think someone is missing his Daddy!

We petted the animals, we had a hot dog lunch, went on a hayride, posed the kids for the cousin picture (they all love that), and we took home our millionth pumpkin!

I LOVE that the kids are around the same age...makes outings like this so much fun. I love that the girls are even closer in age than the boys are...but the boys are still BFF's 4E!

We missed out on our annual family picture at the farm, but that's OK...Aunt Rebecca captured the above sweet SWEET images of my little pumpkins.
