Life is crazy as usual, but good crazy! Like weather is wonderful lately crazy! Like Ryan has been in town more crazy! Like my kids are the smartest and sweetest ever crazy! I have a few things I want to remember so bullets it is. AAAAANNNNDDD here we go:
1. Hagen was eating breakfast on Sunday morning when we brought Hazel down to join him. He promptly said, "Good morning Pickle Pants!" What? Pickle pants?
2. Hazel is just as sweet as can be (well, sometimes). She is testing her limits lately and we witnessed one in the midst of her doing it. I was folding laundry, she grabbed a sock slowly and looked around (Ryan and I were on to her), she slowly walked into the 1/2 bath and returned a few minutes later with a guilty look. I took her hand, walked her into the bathroom and saw the sock in the toilet. She cried...I told her that was naughty and then Ryan and I died laughing behind her back. She needs to work on her game...so far no poker face!
3. Hagen has really stepped up on chores. He clears his place setting after meals. I have had to tell him to put his cup next to the sink and not drop it into the sink because he was loving the milk explosion...I was not. He is also feeding Dapper. I think he likes having chores...makes him feel like a man.
4. Hazel has been in her survival swimming and is doing really well. The thing is it is a quick intense 10 minutes a day for 4 days in a week. She is going on her 6th week of it. She swallows a lot of air so the teacher burps the babies to make their tummy's fell better. One day she wouldn't burp and was tooting all night. I mean like crazy. She was tooting in the bath and Hagen was laughing as he could hear it from the other room. After Hazel went to bed he wanted to take a bath (which is a lot messier than him just jumping in the shower). I told him to take a shower because Hazel was tooting in the tub all night (trying to gross him out). He responded, "Mom, you drained all the tooty water didn't you?" All I could do was stare at him...
5. I wore a swimsuit cover-up to work last week. I could NOT figure out why it kept creeping up on me! I felt like a total moron. I swear I thought it was a dress...it had the drawstring waist and was darling.
6. Last weekend we decided to let Hagen have a go at no naps! NEVER.AGAIN. He was pretty good but the meltdown that happened Sunday night out of pure exhaustion was a sign that he still needs them. Geesh...it's amazing we all survived that one
7. I was pulling weeds outside and came in all hot and sweaty. Hagen wanted to snuggle up and Ryan said, "Hagen, what does Mama smell like?" Hagen said, "She smells like an angel." How sweet is he! I smelled of BO and dirt...
8. The toy closet was out of control. On Saturday I had Hagen go in and put toys that he is no longer playing with in a pile so we can give them to someone that doesn't have as many toys. I was shocked. He was trying to get rid of everything! I had to talk with him about how it was very nice but he should keep some for himself too. He was SO proud of going to goodwill and donating his toys to other kids. And just for the record...he had 6 Spiderman figures...all different sizes.
9. Hagen at dinner the other night. "Mom, get me a fruit cup. My poop is sharp today!" A little back story...when he has trouble going I tell him he needs to eat more fruit to make it not hurt. He listens well I guess. Ha!
10. Ryan and I went on a real date! I called a sitter and we were going out! Who do we call? My parents. We met them for a nice dinner and then went home before 9:00...what nerds! Ha! But we had such a good time. Not having to tend to kids and have an actual uninterrupted conversation was needed.
I think that is about it for now!

Bye Bye to Hazel's Paci
First of all, Hazel says bye bye but with a d...so if she says a single Bye it is "Die"...hmmm...
The night I got back from my girls getaway, it wasn't 5 minutes before Hazel face planted into the window sill. She was bleeding quite a bit! I got her to put a wet washcloth on it and was able to lay her down to check out the damage. It was just a little cut on her top lip. While I was looking in her mouth I swear I saw her top teeth narrowing like you would think a paci or bottle baby (after a year) would have.
I got her an ice pack to hold and immediately went to get her paci (the only one in the house) and cut the tip off. I didn't realize that you didn't have to cut much to make a BIG impact! I felt horrible. There she was with a busted lip and I cut her security paci??
She cried for 45 minutes that night and then was asleep and didn't wake up all night.
The next day at school I told the director and asked her what I do with the one there. She said I need to cut it too. So I did...she didn't nap that day...
The next few nights she would cry for about 5 minutes and then sleep...she started taking naps at school too.
I was worried about the weekend and sleeping in! I just knew she was taking hits off her paci and going back to sleep and that is why she sleeps in so late! Well, I'm proud to say that sister just likes to sleep! She was back to sleeping in till 10 - 10:30!!
So she still has her paci...it is connected to a stuffed giraffe and she snuggles with it and gums it a bit (she is still teething) but the addiction is over.
I'm so proud of her. I was SO emotional about it! I felt like the WORST parent ever! I was thinking it was a good time because she would be potty training in about 6 months, moving to her new room at school where she sleeps on a mat and not in a crib, etc. BUT when I did it it was a rash decision...SO glad it worked out!

Girls getaway!
Last weekend I went with my friend Andrea to her lake house on Cedar Creek Lake! We left Friday around 2:00, got a pedicure, drove to town and just chilled all weekend!
Andrea and I go way back. I started out not too fond of her. You see, my high school love Brad and Andrea dated way back in...well it was like 2nd grade. Well, Brad would drive by her house on the way to his house and honk his horn! It drove me NUTS!! I know it was in early Elementary but I saw it as totally disrespectful to do that especially since he knew it drove me crazy!
So I went to Tech for college and I ended up pledging Kappa Kappa Gamma with Andrea. That is where our friendship grew. We ended up going to Europe for the summer and had a blast! After college we broke up for a few years and then got married the same year and grew close again.
It was nice to talk about everything...but mainly just relax, sleep in, DRINK, and enjoy the perfect weather.
We did head out to Canton...I''m not a fan...I left with beef jerky and dip mixes. I was hungry which was not good. Canton is HUGE!
The kids and Ryan survived. Ryan even did the laundry and put it away! He left a few hours after I got home to go out of town, but he had also went to the grocery store and stocked the fridge including a deboned chicken! That is love people!
It was nice to get away and refresh the batteries.
