Truth Time

Here are a few pics from Truth's visit a couple of weeks ago. She was here basically for the Golden Grandchild and found some time to squeeze in her direct progeny. Of course the trip included a trek to Rosie's Quilt Store where we searched through the button chest for shoe shaped buttons for Stephy's future quilt. The Boy behaved well even though Truth would say "Stop that!" whenever he started to fuss. No wonder we turned out the way we did. (j/k Truth I blame you for all the good stuff too)

Mormon Mecca

This weekend I took a trip to the Mormon Mecca for the Bi-Annual Conferenza Generale. Thursday night I flew in and went to watched the U of U vs. Oregon St. game with 8243, T and A. All former residence of SD. It was really good to watch even though I'm not a fan. I stayed the night with Megs and the next day had lunch with Jess from Stockton. Couldn't pass up a chance to eat some Cafe Rio.
I was also able to see a lot of friends and mish peeps and catch up on all the good times. Oddly enough, I only took one picture the whole time I was there. A nice picture with my mission president's wife at the reunion.
It was fun to see all the peeps and talk about the members in Rome. Then on Saturday morning, Pres. Monsen announced a temple in Rome and that was great to hear. Here is a link to view the land. You can't really see the villeta. But just know that place is awesome. There are 3 pictures, so be sure to scroll through them all. http://www.ldschurchtemples.com/rome/construction/
I was able to attend the Sunday afternoon session and although I had some serious nosebleed seats and too much hot air, it was still great to see the prophet speak. I also enjoy when the foreigners speak. They spice it up a little. On Saturday I watched conference with Quickhands and Murray and we crafted. It's tradition. We are making felt pillow covers that we have cut out designs and then will have fabric underneath. Mine will go perfectly with my bedspread and room decor.
Sunday at conference, the metal detector went off as I went through. The Security Guard said it was my "magnetic personality." I told him it was the metal plate in my head. He really didn't know how to react to that. Made me laugh as I walked off. Later as I was entering the plane the male flight attendant said "Hey Rockstar!" and I responded "I'm going to shoot my assistant. No one was supposed to recognize me after the surgery." He just stared.
Sunday I had a delicious meal of grass-fed beef, local produce of beets, potatoes and home-made apple pie. I found some others trying to be HFCS free and Going Green. It was like fuel to my Green fire. I even picked up some reading material for the plane ride about the farming industry and how we should treat the land. I can't wait for me self-sufficient house and farm.
