Yesterday...

I do NOT want to relive yesterday... not ever! It started out a great day. The girls and I were cleaning and busy around the house... then at 3 o'clock it hit! Emiley started throwing up. I got her settled for about an hour then it was time to take Lainey and Abbey to play practice. We thought we would stop my Sonic on our way to play practice to get a drink and Sprite for Ms. Em, the sick one. As we were going up the hill to Sonic in the pouring rain (more to post on that later and the LAKE in our front pasture and the roads blocked to even get out of our house!) Lainey yelled, "Roll down the window, I need to throw up!" So I roll down the window, rain pouring in, Lainey hanging her head out like a dog throwing up. We pull into Sonic and she gives them a little "treat" in the parking lot. During all this Abbey decides we need to get the sisters home and that she would skip play practice, too. That sounded great to me so I made one last stop to get my computer that had been in the shop for almost two weeks. (I have been using Abbey's computer... mine is hooked up, but my outlook and messenger are not working... frustrated... and yet another story!) We got to Hometown Computing... while I was in getting my computer... Abbey was now throwing up in their parking lot! I was so ready to get home. We finally made it home! All three girls threw up until about midnight last night. I had a splitting headache, but never got sick to my stomach... Thank Goodness...The girls slept til nine this morning and everyone seems good... thus far! I am busy washing ALL sheets, pillows, blankies today hoping that good 'ole daddy can make it through without getting this one!!!

It happened to me...

Well, I had made it almost eight years as a mother and it had never happened to me... until today! My toothbrush was used as a cleaning utensil today by none other than Ms. Em. The girls WANTED to help me clean today. After a slight fever and body ache yesterday, I woke up ready to clean today. I was scrubbing the marble counter tops and the stainless appliances and the girls wanted to do the bathrooms. Abbey was using the bleach cleaner on the sinks and potties and Emiley had the glass cleaner, her green stool, and a paper towel to do the mirrors. Lainey was working on her room. I took a break to go out and feed all our crazy animals and came back into the house to Emiley screaming from the vanity in our bathroom. She had used her stool to get up there, but couldn't get down on her own. She was screaming " I have been stuck here for 100 days and I have been brushing this sink for 100 hours!!!" I was laughing at her until I walked in and saw her scrubbing the sink with MY toothbrush! I explained to her how she should not use people's toothbrushes to clean bathroom fixtures and she told me I should not have left her stuck on the counter for 100 hours. Thank goodness my hubby makes us keep an "extras" basket in the bathroom for all the necessities...

SURPRISE!!...

This past Saturday we had a SURPRISE Tea Party (Wedding Shower) for Will's sister, Molly. Marilyn and I went to San Angelo on Friday to supposedly spend the night with Mima and Molly for just a "visit." We told Molly we had to leave SA at noon to get back... but we told a story!! We went back to MiMa's, changed into our tea party clothes and hats and headed for the party. We were suppose to bring a cup and saucer to present her with... The girls had lots of fun at the party. Paul's mother, Rose, and Jessica and Julie did a wonderful job at planning the whole thing and keeping it a secret. We had a great lunch, decorated straw hats for a contest, played a few games, and watched Molly open all the different cup and saucer combinations. Molly also received a new tea pot from Paul's sisters who live in Michigan and were not able to attend the affair. We had a really fun time celebrating with Molly for her upcoming marriage.
This was something that Lainey really loved! She is all about dressing up and having tea parties!

Emiley almost spilled the beans. As we were leaving Aunt Molly's house Sat morning for pretend... she asked Aunt Molly if we were still have the party. I heard Emiley say this so I made a quick cover up and told her our meeting with Mima for lunch was not really a party... but we needed to get going because Mima was waiting on us. Molly said she did not think a thing about it! Thank goodness the month long planning for this SURPRISE went off without a hitch!

Our Wedding Weekend...

This weekend we traveled to Huntsville for my dad's wedding. After all that has taken place within my family unit this year... this really felt like a new beginning and a very new chapter in my life and my dad's. Thanks to my GREAT little brother, we arrived in Huntsville around five o'clock Friday evening. Will had to present an audit Friday night, so we were not suppose to arrive until late. Chad came out of his way to get the girls and me. We got in town in just enough time to have dinner with lots of friends and family and then head to dad's house for a game of Catch Phrase. It was a great time being with my dad, Dee, and aunts, uncles, cousins, and Mi Ma. Saturday started out really relaxing. Will and I and the girls met Gary, Vi, Chad, Gina, Whit and Garrett for breakfast at IHOP and then headed to the wedding spot to deliver dishes, etc. When we got back to Dad's the electricity was off so we visited in the dark , had lunch, and then began dressing for the wedding.
It was a very casual wedding with just close friends and family attending. It was held at a Historic Bed and Breakfast in Huntsville. The girls and cousins looked adorable and did a great job standing on the balcony quietly watching the ceremony. They each carried a white daisy. They looked so CUTE!
After the wedding , the family went to Dad's for a catered meal. We had lots of great food... shrimp, steak and chicken K-Bobs, salad, rice, green beans and wedding cake. The fellowship was great with our family and Dee's family. Everyone had a great time!
The girls loved this picture of them with Big Abby and Megan. (Dee's daughters) It was a good weekend filled with visiting and family time. We are so thankful for our families and the time we get to spend together. Best Wishes to the Newlyweds...

My first race!...

I finally got up enough nerve to enter my first race. I wish that I had done a race when I was really running and working out regularly... I would have done better... but hey, I finally entered one and it wasnt so bad. I was worried about looking like a fool or getting beat by EVERYONE. Will was so good to encourage me... and of course he was right. I did just fine! I am not a speedster by any means. I ALWAYS run about 12 minute miles... sometimes a little slower... sometimes a little faster. It was the case this weekend. I did the 4K (about two and a half miles) and finished in 30 minutes. I got 98th place overall and 6th place in my age division (31-35yr. females). I dont know how many were actually in the race, but I wasnt last because there were lots more finishing after me. Gina and Will did great! They both ran the 10K (6 miles.). They both met their goals for finishing under their set times. They are both so competitive... they would DIE before not meet a goal when it comes to sports. It was lots of fun and I hope to get back on track to running more often so that I can run a half marathon in December.
(We asked a man on the corner to take a picture of all three of us, but he "videoed" us instead so I dont have a still shot of Will, Gina, and I!... I look pretty silly in this pic. No make-up and I wanted to stand up tall to show off my first number!!...173)

A Trip to the Children's Museum...

While the girls were staying with my Aunt Susan (while we were in Dallas) they took a trip to the children's museum in New Braunfels. They had so much fun... They are still talking about it. I thought it was really cute how they all had different things about the museum that were their "favorite parts." Abbey loved anything and everything that had to do with animals. She liked pretending to be a bat and see some sort of gorilla. Lainey, the artist, loved the painting center and was also intrigued with the astronaut suit, even though she did not really want to try it on. They did however dress up like a policeman and fireman in one of the centers. Emiley loved the candy and the little dog that she got in the gift shop. She loves that dog so much she has slept with it every night and it even went to VBS with her this morning. Its name is Jaggy!
Here they are as bats. They also got to "fly" through a bat cave. It really sounds like a cool place! We may have to make a family trip back there when we go to Schlitterbahn so that Will and I can check it out! Thanks Susan for a great few days with the girls!!!

Happy (Belated) Birtday, Babe...

Well, while we were in Dallas Will celebrated a birthday on June 1... so since I missed it... I am posting on it a bit late. Will was not looking forward to the BIG 31... (I wasnt either, but when it was me turning 31 and having "anxiety" about it.. he just laughed) 31 just sounds so much older than 30... oh well it is going to happen. It was great planning that we were away for his birthday. We were able to have a nice dinner all alone! Will is the best! I am so blessed to call him "mine." He is a great husband and father and leader of our household. He has taught me so many things in our ten year marriage. Will keeps me grounded and helps me see things exactly as they are. He is realistic, trustworthy, honest, funny, and really cute for a short blond guy! I am so thankful that he chose me and I am with him to celebrate birthday after birthday after birthday! I Love You, Will...... Happy Birthday...

I'M back to the real world...

We've been going non-stop since school got out for summe! I was able to post about the family reunion... but since then things have been crazy, fun, busy. I spent Monday ( a week ago) doing laundry and repacking. On Tuesday, I met my aunt Susan in Marble Falls and then did some shopping with Marilyn before heading home. Once we got home Tuesday evening, it was time for me to pack myself up for a four day, three night get away.... JUST ME AND WILL! (Can you tell I was excited about it???) Will had to go to an investment conference in Dallas. We actually stayed at the Omni Mandalay in Las Colinas. It was so nice!!! We drove in early Wednesday morning... just beating the storm that was blowing in. Luckily the storm did not last long so that I could hit the malls and Will could "do some business" on the golf course. I has so much fun just shopping, snacking, trying on clothes, etc... all alone. I spent every afternoon laying out by the pool all alone just reading, swimming laps, sipping on lemon water, and looking at the lake around the hotel. On Wednesday night we had a great dinner at the hotel with others at the conference. We dined on a lobster shooter, calamari, prosciutto wrapped sea bass, asparagus, and on and on and on. It was a delicious meal. We were suppose to be treated to gondula rides after dinner on Lake Carolyn but due to the weather we were not able to do this. So instead they had a character artist come and draw us as cartoons riding a godula. It was really cute! Then on Thursday, it was more of the same. Will headed to his meetings.... I slept late, went to the mall, and came back to swim and relax. Thursday night we were able to meet our super friends Jon and Amy for dinner. It was great to see them and catch up! Hopefully we can get together again over the summer. Friday was the same... more shopping and swimming for me and meetings for Will. I did meet some really nice ladies Friday at the pool. (That is us in he picture) They were from California, Illinios, New Jersey, Kansas, and Pennsylvania. We had fun visiting and talking about our husbands and their careers. Friday night we had dinner with others in downtown Dallas at Bob's Steak and Chop House. It didnt look like much on the outside, but was beautiful on the inside....... we were shocked as we walked into candlelight dinner. Will dined on roasted duck and I stuck to traditional steak. We had a great cab ride over there and back with people from all over the US. Saturday morning came too fast... I did have breakfast at a cute bakery with my pool friends and then went to Sam Moon with a couple of them before check out time. I was so much fun just getting away!!! We got mid afternoon and I headed to pick up the girls. They were glad to be home. My house looked like a terrible storm had occured within it so Monday was CLEANING day. I did laundry and got "reorganized." We have already spent lots of days at the country club and plan on going again this afternoon. I enjoyed my trip and time with my husband... but I am also looking forward to slowing down and enjoying the summer in my real world! No more fancy hotel room where they make my bed, clean the bathroom and turn my bed down for me and draw my curtains for bedtime...
