Finger-painting Fun...

Today is our first day of summer to be at home ALL day! We are not going anywhere... NOT even swimming! The girls have been doing fun things like making pickle pops, dancing to music, riding their bikes and finger-painting!

I asked Abbey what she was painting. She replied, "IDK!"

Lainey says, "Oh my, she is even talking in text now!"

Lainey informed us she was making a tree filled with delicate birds. Of course she is! She is so creative.

Miss Em was making a smiley face but then she messed up so now she is just having FUN!! Having FUN is what today is all about. Having fun at home!! Happy summer.

Proud To Be An American

Last week we had a very rare opportunity. An American soldier's body, who died fighting for our freedom, was flown into our small town airport. The citizens of our town were asked to line the streets from the airport to the funeral home. We if course took part in this once in a lifetime... Very moving day!

There were so many people and hundreds of flags. The riding club lead the procession through town.

I can't even tell you how meaningful this experience was. The streets were pure silence. Everyone was full of respect for this man... So thankful for his service for our freedom...God Bless America and the Men and Women who serve.

How Random Can You Get?...

Yes, I know once again I have been lacking in the blog department but it has been busy around here AND my computer is in the shop! So I am blogging from my phone again. The saddest thing is that I can't share all the great pictures from my new camera.

So I will give you some bloggy randomness until bigger and better things are available!

First a picture of my super, cute hubby of almost 14 years! The girls and I helped him pick out these new shades while on a little road trip this weekend. We almost rear-ended our BFF's to get this picture!

Speaking of our BFF's, we met the Horton's this weekend! It always seems like we have 100 kids when we are together!

I love peacocks! They are so pretty. This one was blocking our county road the other day! I warned you of the randomness!!

Lainey and Emiley attended a wonderful cheer camp last week. They learned a really hard dance (which they both proved they have some awesome moves), sone cute cheers, and got some great practice on their jumps.

Miss Em had to have her hair French braided!!

The girls have been doing a running workout a few evenings a week. Let me just say... IT.IS.TOUGH! They girls love it though. Abbey's softball team starts their play-off tourney next week! Busy times!

Kid's Triathlon...

Oh, You know a few weekends ago the girls competed in a kid's triathlon here in H-town! We got up pretty early and headed down to one of our local parks so that we could get their swim transition set up and their new bikes all ready to go. Then it was time for the body marking! The girls were really excited about this part because they had seen this done to their daddy lots of times before.
It was so cute to see them all ready for the race!
The race was a little hard for us to watch because it had staggered starts, of course, and we had three kids in it! I watched Emiley all through the swim and then watched her through transition then realized Lainey was swimming... So I headed back to the pool and watched Lainey.
I watched Lainey at transition then realized I was missing Abbey swim and had probably missed Emiley ride her bike!
Isn't Miss Em just too cute for words??
So I soon just headed over to the track so that I could FOR SURE see all three girls finish!

They all did such a good job! I wish I could have been all over the triathlon course so that I could have pictures of all three of them throughout the race but it was just not possible!
I am so thankful that our little community offers such a great opportunity for our kids. The girls had a BLAST!
And Miss Emiley ended up getting 2nd place in her age group!
Lainey was in a pretty tough age group and didnt place put did great!
Abbey placed first in her age group!
It was a FUN Saturday morning!

Friday Favorites... ACU Wildcat Edition!

This Friday my FAVORITE is ACU WILDCAT CAMP!!! Abbey just returned from a four day stay at ACU for Wildcat Camp. It is an all-sport camp and since sports are "her thing"... She LOVES this camp! She loves it even more since many of her BFF's go with her. This year Abbey was chosen as the Female MVP of the camp! Yep, I was one proud Momma! I went to this camp when I was young. It is for 5th-7th grade girls and boys. They do sports like softball, volleyball, soccer {Abbey's favorite! And Abbey got to be with Elliot from the ACU girl's soccer team all week. She was SO EXCITED!}, cheerleading, basketball, and tennis. It gives the kids a chance to work on all the sports and learn a little more about each sport.
I stayed in Abilene part of the week which is way I was MIA from the blog and also went to San Angelo for a day to visit my Mi-Ma. I checked in with he girls one morning at softball! They were having LOTS of fun!
In the evenings the kids got to do fun things like go to Prime Time and watch a movie on the ACU lawn. They also had devo's and got to go roller skating. Abbey LOVES ACU already and hope her love just continues to grow.
This year Camp Wildcat was even better because Kooper {her buddy since birth} came, too!
Oh yes, and Hannah was there again this year!
It was a great four days for Miss Abbey Grace! I am so glad she was able to experience it! Thanks ACU for making it a great week for my daughter. Coach Walker and his staff were amazing.

The Frio...

Last weekend we took a little mini-vacation to the Frio River. On our way, we made a stop through Brady to visit my brother and see my adorable nephew play some baseball. He was GREAT! We made it to the river late Thursday night for a much needed time of rest and relaxation. I enjoyed just spending time with my family. Will and some of his high school buddies had had this trip planned since January. The river was low so we didnt do any floating but we did just sit in the river! There was a large rock that the kids could climb on and jump into a deep spot in the river. The really enjoyed the day Friday.
The condos where we stayed were great and had a beautiful pool. There was a fun water slide that kept them busy the rest of the time. I think the kids were in the water from sun-up to sun-down. We got a great start to our summer tans!

The girls had a great time playing with Will's friend's kids! Abbey and Carley are just months apart.
Lainey had to rest some!
The pool was huge and perfect for all the people!
We stayed by the pool a lot. We ate lunch down there one day and sat by it until midnight one night.
We enjoyed watermelon, s'mores...
We cooked on the grill and made briskets! It was a great little get away.
On our way home on Sunday we stopped in Fredericksburg and at some German food! Will even had to try a beer named "Abbey."
The girls loved eating on the patio even though it was almost 100 degrees.
Tonya, Shane, Mills and Mason met us for lunch but I didnt even get their pictures. The girls always love getting to see their cousins! I am not sure who talked more... Lainey or Mason or Emiley!
We had a great time!
