Simply Home...

Yes, We are a family who loves being at home {when we can!}. With the girls playing basketball and busy with all kinds of other school activities, friends and church we are often busy but we LOVE just being at HOME. Here are some FUN things going on at the casa...

One of my BFF's, Betsy, has become a pro at making homemade laundry soap. According to her research it comes out to costing only five cents per load of laundry. She made me some and brought it to me at Bible study this morning. I cant wait to use it and have a lesson in making my own real soon! Miss Em came home with her 3rd grade cabbage! She was so excited! This weekend she found the perfect place to plant it... In a hollow tree stump! I just hope it survives Jasper {the horse}.

Abbey Grace is a clarinet playing fool! She is really improving. They are now suppose to practice 30 minutes a day and she has been really taking it serious. They are getting ready for Spring contest and concert. She is really growing up!

Miss Em spent 1 hour hula hooping the other night! Yes, we timed it... She actually probably went longer than that... {You cant even really see the hula hoop in this picture!}

The next day she said her hips hurt so she stuffed herself with pillows... Silly Girl! You make me smile EVERY.SINGLE.DAY! Lainey took a reading level evaluation this past week at school and now can read books up to the 12 grade! CRAZINESS!!! I explained to her that just because she is smart enough to read books on that level that books on that level may not be appropriate for her... She and Abbey currently have the same book checked out from the library! {I hate that I dont have a new picture of my Lainey Girl!}

Yep, HOME... That's where I am...It's a good place to be...

This Friday I am thankful for my sporty, oldest daughter... She loves sports and gives it all that she's got!

Last weekend at her ball game we got to see her do lots of fast breaks and lay-ups! So fun!

Can't wait to see Abbey G. play again tomorrow!

Oh yes, we are also thankful for the RAIN!

Happy Weekend!

Totally Tuesday Randomness...

Yes, I am going to be random today! And I think I will even number my random points!

1. The other night the girls cooked dinner for Will and I. It was super sweet. They are always wanting to cook us supper so Sunday night they made us supper. We had appetizers outside while we enjoyed a "show" on the trampoline. Then we came inside to a candle light dinner. They had set up the card table in the dining room and turned on a few lamps. So sweet!

2. I am really enjoying a Bible Study with a few other ladies right now by Beth Moore. We are doing the study called "The Inheritance." Today's lesson was wonderful. After the lesson we agreed we want our teen daughters to hear it... We talked about being heiresses to the Kings Throne and that is why it is so important to only do the best for our body, mind and spirit! So good for our girls to hear in this time of their growing up!

3. Miss Em is the beautician in the family. She is AMAZING! She did this little inverted pony tail on her own hair, but the other day she is was french braiding everyone's hair in sight!

4. I am so proud of the girls because once again they all made straight A's!

5. Have you heard of the book "One Thousand Gifts?" You should read it! I am just on the fourth chapter but its amazing so far. I am also taking the challenge of counting 1,000 blessings this year. I am loving the first few chapters that helped me realize to fully enjoy God's Grace I must give thanks and find pure joy!

6. Saturday, we took an afternoon and headed to the city. I wanted to use a few Christmas gift cards and wanted to eat at a yummy restaurant that has gluten free pizza. When we were in Wal-Mart the girls were facinated with this soda display. I said, "Man, we dont get the girls out enough!"

7. I really need to get back to running/walking. Since Vegas I have fallen off the wagon. I got some new shoes with my Christmas gift cards hoping that will help... and for the fact that my others were worn out... Lets hope I get some motivation!

8. Yep, I am obsessed with Words with Friends. I scored 102 points the other day!!!!

9. Abbey is on the road to flip-flopping away! She can do it on the trampoline with ease! She also did it at gym the other day with out the "pointer finger" spot! Cheerleader try-outs are fast approaching and she is super excited. (yes, this former cheerleader momma is, too!)

10. RAIN, RAIN... we are waiting on you today!

Oh The Day...

Today is PaPa Jim's Birthday... PaPa Jim is a super sweet man. He married my mom a few years ago and loves my girls and Will and I like his own. Jim has been in the hospital for a week now with a blood clot in his leg... Yesderday Jim was transferred to a Houston Hospital so that he could have surgery today to help relieve the blood clot and hopefully solve this problem for good! It's not the way Jim or my mom wanted to celebrate his birthday but hopefully he will be on the road to recovery soon and the blood clot will not cause any more pain or threats to his other organs. Jim is now in ICU for the evening and recovering.

Please keep our PaPa Jim {the Birthday Boy} in your prayers!

The Little Artist...

Every one who knows Lainey, knows she is my little artist. Remember when she won the state wide contest for the "Trashing Texas Beaches" Campaign and her art work was in the State Capital?!? We are often approached by people who randomly see her draw something because they want to compliment her on her talent. She is so crafty! Lainey spends most of her free time drawing and creating. When Lainey Beth saw the art contest in the American Girl magazine she HAD to enter! This is the painting that she did for it! Yep, its ALL. ABOUT. SPACE! Her second LOVE... Second to ART!... And this is the envolope she mailed it off in...

It couldnt just be mailed in a plain envelope! It had to be covered in aliens!

Happy Hump Day!

Miss Em and the Red Hots...

Pee-Wee basketball is simply adorable! I love watching them play especially when Miss Em is involved. Emiley really does love basketball and she is pretty good! Em and her team the Red Hots had their first game this past Saturday and they played GREAT! Here is Miss Em as the forward!

They played a very touch 4 quarters and the game went into overtime! They got beat in overtime but both teams played SUPER!!! So proud of my little #2!

Oops! A blurry iPhone team picture...

Good Job Red Hots! Cant wait to watch you again!

FridayFavorites...

One of my favorite things is downloading pictures from my phone and finding "hidden treasure" pictures that the girls have taken! Really it is SO FUN! They are so cute and have such a fun time capturing their day, too {Maybe its not so fun when I realize I thought I had 200 pics on my phone but really I had 400!} One of the girls FUN babysitters did they hair curly one night so of course they had to ask for the MAGICAL curling iron for Christmas!
I am sure in this picture Abbey was asking Miss Em to pose with her new Teddy Bear that one of her BFFs gave her for Christmas! Sister FUN is the BEST!!
And finally what is better than a sister and cousin feet picture with Christmas houseshoes! Friday Favorite Fun shots! {I am sure my girls overstimulate their sweet, quiet cousin Whitney 100% of the time but we sure LOVE her with all our hearts!}
Happy Weekend!

Making Dolls...

Over the Christmas Break the girls went with DeeDee to learn how to make dolls from Leba {DeeDee's mom}. These dolls are made from "scratch". I mean they form the heads and hands and every piece of the doll. The girls were really excited about their two day project. Here they are working their clay that would later be their doll... This is the beginnings of their heads... It's amazing to me!

Here is are the "insides" and the hands...

Here is Miss Em's face during the process. After they get the head and face done they apply make-up to give the face color. They also put in eyeballs and eyelashes.

Here the faces as they "cook!"

Here are all three girls and their doll faces during the process...

They they try hair of their heads...

And here are the FINAL products! This is Abbey's doll...

This one is Emiley's...

And here is Lainey's! I think they did an amazing job! They LOVED their days of doll making.

It is truly and art. The girls said it wasnt as hard as they thought it would be but theirs were not as good as Leba's!

My Little Chef...

Lainey Girl is always asking if she can cook supper. Not just HELP me with supper but cook supper all by herself. During the week this just isnt possible because I usually have supper "going" before the girls get home from school, so this weekend we let Lainey good supper ALONE! She was so excited! She got out my new measuring spoons, put on her new apron and got busy! She had her friends in the kitchen to help and they were the ONLY ones allowed in the kitchen. {These are the adorable hand-made owl and monkey that she got for Christmas. Perfect "Lainey" gifts!}

She also had to have Lucy with her... Yes, Lucy has been in her life forever!

She then found our dinner menu in the The Children's Better Homes and Garden Cookbook and got busy. She did change up the pizza crust just a bit to make it gluten free for me! She made it with rice flour instead and it turned out perfect!!!

When she was finished we had a beautiful homemade pizza and a spinach salad with vingarette dressing...

She had also researched a little surprise on the internet. She got a fondant recipe and made a "semi" fondant and dipped marshmellows in it! YUMMY and super sweet in ALL WAYS!!

We had a wonderful family dinner thanks to our very talented Lainey Girl!
