Year One: Check
My last day teaching preschool was this past Thursday. We had a water party, which was a lot of fun. It will be nice to have the summer break from teaching (and have my house back!), but I loved teaching this last year. I loved that 6 hours a week was not too demanding, and I loved seeing the kids get into whatever theme we were learning about and their progress throughout the year. I'm apprehensive about next year because I won't have my sister to lean on and share the workload with, and I have a lot of work to do this summer putting together a new curriculum of themes etc. It's a little overwhelming at this point, but I have 3 months to figure it all out. :o) I sure am going to miss these kiddos over the summer though!

Diamond Club
The owner of the company Matt works for offered Matt Diamond Club tickets to the Astros game yesterday. We were scheduled to babysit for our babysitting co-op, but luckily we were able to trade with another couple. The owner rarely offers to give these seats away (row 7 right behind home plate), but this is the second time he's offered them to Matt! The first time Matt was offered these tickets was 8 months ago, and I had just barely been called into the Primary presidency and the tickets were the same night of my first presidency meeting. Because I would have had to cancel the day of, I passed on the tickets and Matt took a friend. After they came home and told me all the food they consumed and how awesome the seats were, I was very excited this time around.
We parked our mini-van among a Mercedes SLK 500, a BMW 750i, a McLaren, a Bugatti (several of the player's cars) right next to the stadium. Needless to say, we felt a little out of place. It was the first time ever that we had to go down stairs in order to get to our seats. The seats were actually cushioned and comfy instead of hard and uncomfortable. Because we were sitting right behind home plate, we knew we would be on T.V.! We kept calling family to watch the game so they could see us! All in all, it was the best free date we've ever had!
The price of the tickets! ($375 each)

Day to Day
Carter is at the stage right now where he loves to look in the trash can for left-over "yummy" snacks. In general his objective has been to dig through the trash looking for a fruit snack wrapper and then hold it in front of my face making a whining noise, thus communicating that he wants some fruit snacks. He's also discovered a few times how to throw things away in the garbage (i.e. a shoe or other object). Hence the reason that the trash can now sits on top of a chair in my kitchen

My little man, Caleb, is in love with music. He loves to dance to it and listen to it. It's a great independent activity for him which I fully support. This day he was listening to a CD with all the 2011 Primary songs on them just laying down and singing along with all the songs. It was so cute, and I loved his sweet voice singing in the background while I was prepping dinner in the kitchen.

Zoo Field Trip
After spending all month learning about specific zoo animals, the children in my preschool class were so excited to see them all live. We didn't quite make it to all the animals we studied before everyone needed to head out, but we enjoyed what we saw. Now that I have a zoo membership, we will be frequenting the zoo quite a bit this next year.
Here are some monkeys and a lion. (Caleb's on the right.)
Most all of my preschool students (minus 3 girls) sporting their animal masks we made at preschool

Caitlyn, Dallin, and Caleb daring to touch a rhino :o)
It's crazy to me that preschool is wrapping up at the end of this month. My sister and I have loved taking on this endeavor together and really enjoyed ourselves! We loved splitting the workload and bouncing ideas off each other. We will be teaching different age groups next year, so we're enjoying our last month of team-teaching.
