Most of the berries were SWEET.

We all had a great time picking and taste testing the afternoon away at Miriam and Nick's blueberry field......YUM! Thanks Taggarts!

We picked and picked.....and picked some more until we had twenty pounds of tasty strawberries. Ellen made 3 batches of freezer jam and Hamish froze several quarts of berries for smoothies. YUM! Avery volunteered to be the family mascot and danced around on her tiptoes. The rest of us sang Strawberry Fields Forever and stuffed our faces till our lips were stained red. The fruits of our labor provided us with several dessert options. We kicked off the dessert marathon with shortcake (biscuit style) and ended with thick strawberry shakes. Move over California - Oregon berries have arrived!
