Won't You Tell Me How to Get...

How to get to Sesame street! Sesame Street Live came to Abilene, and Nana got us tickets. Benton generally doesn't sit still long enough to watch much TV, but Elmo somehow captures his attention (at least for a few moments!)
After dinner and ice cream we headed to the show.
Benton was pretty unimpressed until Elmo and Big Bird came walking out on stage. We had great seats, and Benton was AMAZED. I have never seen him act this engrossed in anything. He sat on Nana's lap not moving or hardly even blinking.

Mesmerized!

Elmo's World was complete with Dorthy the goldfish, Mr. Noodle, and his computer. As someone who has seen quite a few episodes, it was pretty close to what is on tv.
He finally got a hold of himself, and really got into the show. He was clapping and marching right along with all the other kiddies. Any time Elmo left the stage, he immediately begged him to come back.

Benton is still two days later talking about Elmo, Big Bird who was sad, Mr. Noodle, Oscar, Cookie Monster, Abby, Burt, and Ernie.

Hanner boys in attendance! Hunter was taking pictures on his phone, and sending them out to all his friends. They were all jealous of how he got to spend his evening! Don't worry boys, your times will all come too.

Thanks Nana for a memorable night. I loved getting to watch the happiness on the face of my little man. I'm not sure what it is about Elmo, but to Benton he's a rock star!

Fore

Time for a little backyard golf lesson with Daddy. Benton loves roaming around the golf corse. His daddy can't wait until he actually gets to play a round with the little man.
visualizing the shot....
Hole in one!
Let the celebrating begin!

Hmmm...driver or iron?

Oops hope I didn't leave a mark.

Once upon a time, a long long time ago

...our family celebrated Easter lunch at Honey and Poppa's house. Though the time has long past for Easter posts, I have been doing a lot of looking back at my blog to fill in Benton's baby book. Therefore, I will swallow my embarrassment and play catch up from many weeks ago.
First of all, Honey made this outfit. Actually she made all her grandkids outfits. Be jealous!
I was trying to use my fancy lens and ended up overexposing most of the pictures I took. That's probably the real reason I haven't blogged about this before. Maybe someday I'll get better in the photography department!

Would you believe that this is the best we got of the cousins? The rest were terrible! These babies wanted to play!
Buttercup Ben and his three chins :) Not pictured: thunder thighs!
And they're off, continuing on the Dods' tradition of youngest to oldest out the door.
Little man was finished after he found the peaches. He just wanted us to open them so he could eat.

After the hunt, we tried to get pictures of their loot.
Someone unwisely opened his playdough, and
of course he took a bite!
Still chewing...
throws away his egg,
and tries to take Clara's. Isn't that typical of a boy?

After going home to change clothes, we headed out to the golf course with the Hanners. Wouldn't you know the Easter bunny came there too!

Hello

Missed these beautiful baby blues? Here's what we've been up to the last five weeks since I've last felt the urge to blog.
Benton has grown a little taller,
we've done a lot of reading,
wearing our pj's most of the day.
Dressed up in mudding clothes,

stomped in puddles,
and enjoyed our last little bit of having a one-year-old-boy.
