Three Years Later

Well to say its been awhile since I have updated my blog is an understatement! But I'm back and ready to try this again! I finally feel like I have something to write about and his name is Hudson! My plan is to write something every month (maybe more if I am feeling frisky). I know that today is the first of February but I'm going to try from now on to write at least one a month.
To start things off let me tell you about the most amazing gift I've every received here lately. I'm talking about our little guy Hudson. He is the biggest blessing that Chase and I have ever had. It is so much fun to watch him change everyday. He is the coolest little guy and we are so glad that God chose us to be his parents! Every month I try to take a picture of him and write down some of the achievements he has accomplished that month. Sadly I had a lot of them saved on my phone but lost them when i got a new phone. So from here on out I am going to write them on here so that i won't lose them. I am going to take a step back a little and write down what he had done from month 1-5.

One Month Old:
- We welcomed Hudson Drake Hanner on August 2, 2012. Hud weighed in at 7 pounds 14 ounces and was 20 1/4 inches long. He had a small case of jaundice and loved to sleep. Both his Meena and his Nana stayed with us to help adjust to having a newborn. Hudson is such a strong boy and came out holding his head up like a big boy. Hud had reflux pretty bad and was put on Nexum to help with his spit up and crying.

Two Months Old:
- After we made our first appearance at church Hud caught a bug and we had to take him to the doctor. It was so sad seeing him not feeling good but after a couple of days he was back to normal. When we went in to see the doctor they weighed him and he was 12 pounds 9 ounces and 23 inches long. I was the first to see Hud's precious crooked smile. After singing to him over and over "If your happy and you know it" he showed me how happy he was on September 18th (at almost 7 weeks old). I wasn't prepared for his next achievement of rolling over at 8 weeks old. He was playing on his tummy and I walked away to change out the laundry and when I came back he was laying on his back. I almost didn't believe it so I put him back on his tummy and seconds later he had done it again. He loved to coo and make spit bubbles.

Three Months Old:
- At three months old I received another gift . . . Hudson slept 8 hours at night!!! You would have thought I had won the lottery. He found his hands and loves to suck on them. Not just one finger or his thumb but his whole fist. He also found himself in the mirror and I hope that he is not conceited when he gets older because he sure does like to look at himself. But it sure does make me laugh to see him get so excited to see himself. We made our first road trip this month actually we made three. We went to see Mandi and Patrick's new little girls twice and we went to Nana's Angel Fire house. He loved riding in the motor home that we took. Hudson, along with his cousins Caleb and Clayton, bounced the whole way there. He loved playing with Jennifer and Hunter's little guys and just watched everything they did. Hudson also got to dress up for his first Halloween this month. He went trick or treating as Superman. Benton loved to call him Super Baby! We had so much fun taking him to our friends and family's houses.

Four Months Old:
-Weighing in at 16 pounds and 10 ounces and 25 3/4 inches long, Hudson is a chunky monkey. We went to San Antonio for Thanksgiving and right before we got in the car Hudson decide that he wanted to roll over from his back to his tummy. This time I was camera ready and caught it on video. Hudson found his feet this month and he is fascinated by them. We had heard Hud laugh before but one afternoon Chase took him out to feed Lucky and Hud thought that was the funniest thing ever to watch her jump out for her food. What a sweet laugh he has!
Five Months Old:
- It seems like this month Hudson has grown up so much. He has become so aware of his surroundings. He loves his Daddy so much and he always gives him the best smiles. We started eating cereal this month and that has been an adventure. He is doing better every day but that first bite is always fun to watch. He weighs 19 pounds and is 26 inches long so he is a growing boy. Hud also started sitting up this month. Sometimes he needs some help but he is getting better. I'm afraid of how soon he will be mobile because he is starting to roll around everywhere. He gets a little mad when he can't roll anymore because a piece of furniture is in the way.

Well that should catch you up at least on the last five months. Sorry if I rambled on but I hope to keep you all updated more often. Until next time!

With love,
Macey

I know this might be a surprise to many but its been awhile since I have sat down to write something. The past few months (yes I said months) have been very busy around the Hanner household. We celebrated Thanksgiving with my family in Lubbock and had a great time with everyone. There was lots of food and fun but we had to head back to Abilene because we moved three days later.
We moved to our new house bright and early Monday December 1st. we had lots of help from Mark, Jana, Hunter, Jennifer and Erin (and of course Benton). I took off two days of work and by the afternoon of the second day I was finished and had started to decorate. I have a few pictures of the new house and they will be posted later.
For Christmas we headed to Montana to spend some time with Jana’s family. We made the 24hour trip in a RV and besides the trampoline “bed” in the back and the attempts to feed Benton his green beans (it was a little messy) it was a great way to travel. It was so cold (some days it was -8) but that didn’t stop the boys from hunting. I don’t know how they did it but they made a hunting trip almost everyday starting at 6:00am and ending at dark (4:45pm). As for the girls, we went into town one day and Jennifer and I tried to get motivated to scrapbook (one of us got more done then the other). We watched movies and played lots of games and it was a great relaxing trip.
Well I think that’s all I have for now. Maybe next time it won’t take me so long to update. Have a great week and here are some pictures that from our many adventures.

Birthday Fun!!

It’s been awhile since I have anything exciting to write about but last Saturday I celebrated my 24 birthday. Chase took the day off of work AND took a day off of hunting (even though it was opening day of duck session). We spent the day together hanging out just the two of us. We went to lunch at one of our favorite places to eat and then went to the mall to look around and see if I could find anything that I wanted for our new house. I couldn’t find anything there so we continued our search at a couple more stores and then went a watched the movie Fireproof. By the way that is such a good movie and if you haven’t seen it you need to. It was such a great day!!

The Hanner family celebrated with me on Monday night in Cisco. John and Dianne were gracious enough to open their home to us for dinner. We had and wonderful meal and toped it off with a cake Chase bought (I mean made! wink wink!!) It was so nice of everyone to come. Well I think that’s all for now!

Let’s give this a try

Ok so after lots of encouragement from many different people I am going to make an attempt at this whole blogging thing. I never thought that I would blog until I had kids or at least something to talk about but I thought that it would be a great way to keep in contact with our family and friends that we don’t get to see all the time.
Well I guess I can officially update yall that Chase and I have become home owners again!! We bought a beautiful home in an area that we absolutely love! Our closing date is December 1st and it can’t come any sooner. We have been looking into moving for awhile now and never found exactly what we both wanted until we went into this house. It has such a welcoming feeling when you walk in the front door and we both knew that it was the house for us. Well I guess that’s all that I have for now but stay tuned for more to come. Here are some pictures of our new house!!
