Ok, I've been in a funk.  Well that's not the only reason I haven't posted anything in a long time.  This spring I was busy losing 47 lbs.  that's right, 47! Heck yeah, I rock!  Just kidding although I am proud of myself.  Sorry I got distracted from why I haven't posted anything in forever.  First I was consumed with weight loss, then we went on two vacations over the summer so I was gone for 5 weeks, and now I'm just in a funk.  So my current plan is to try to get back into my regular hobbies and things that make me happy like blogging, scrapbooking, reading, and sewing.

I'm also still a little bitter about yesterdays election, but I'm trying to focus on the future and the many blessings I have to be thankful for.  This article helped me see where I should be.

P.S. I'm going to try to blog a bit about our wild road trip this summer because I have amazing pictures I'm dying to post somewhere.

The Reception (Part 2)

On Saturday T.J. and Marlee had their reception at the old Church building on 1st Ave. and Center in Mesa.
This building had a special courtyard inside open to the sky.  Even though the weather was a little unpredictable, the rain held off until everything was over and cleaned up.  What a beautiful night.

(I'm still learning to use my camera, and these settings reflected the lighting the best, but if anyone moved they got blurry.  I am also still at my mom's house and she doesn't have Photoshop.  Will have to touch them up and crop later.)

The kids were in charge of the gift table and were anxiously awaiting more presents.

T.J. was a little worried when the DJ said Marlee should have at him with the cake.

He's pretty much covered, and the suit is going to the cleaners

The Wedding (Part 1)

Well I'm leaping in again completely out of order since I realized I'm four months behind and if I don't post something soon I'm going to just have to give up.  I will be coming back with Halloween, Christmas, Dean's birthday, and a few other odds and ends, but I'm throwing the wedding out there now since a few of you have asked for pictures.

Waiting for the happy couple to come out.
(Notice that Grandpa and Steve look like "Men in Black.")

Finally out and gazing at the Temple

Even Grandpa is enjoying the spring weather.

T.J. and Marlee were sealed in the San Diego Temple on March 10, and we had the reception last Saturday night.  It's been a crazy couple of weeks, but we are happy to have a new member of the family!

Returned With Honor

My sweet baby brother returned home from his mission to North Carolina in December, and it was such a great experience to be there waiting for him in the airport. Well done T.J.!

Confessions Of An Exercise Dropout

So I'm starting a new blog.  Why you may ask since I already have a hard time keeping this one current?  Well I have a new mission, and it is to lose a lot of weight.  I have lost weight several times in the past and I always need accountability in order to make it work. I know that my pride will not let me quit this goal after I have announced it to the world so here goes.

My motivation in starting the new blog is to spare my family and friends having to hear about it all the time.  This way I can put it out there and still feel accountable (or prideful), but not drive everybody crazy.  Seems like a win win to me.

The new address is: http://www.exercisedropout.blogspot.com/

Pumpkins

Yes, I know I'm a pumpkin carving goddess.  Enough said.

Big Birthday Boy

It's now official, I'm old.  My son has turned 12 and I am only one step away from the seniors center.  I've heard once they are teenagers it's all over.

Alec had his 12th birthday and I can't believe he's been my boy for 12 whole years!  I still remember taking him home from the hospital stunned that someone believed I was capable of taking care of him.

Alec is a great boy.  He has a heart of gold and is always helpful to others.  He also has terrific manners and always lets girls go first and opens doors for them.  He is good to his little brother and is always concerned with making sure everyone is happy.  He is a good student and works hard at school.  I'm so proud he's my boy.

He also finished up his 2nd class scout badge on his birthday and so now we are working on first class.  We had a family dinner after scouts and Alec picked Mandarin Chicken and chocolate cake for his birthday meal.

We also had more parties on the weekend when more family came to town for his Priesthood ordination, unfortunately I didn't take any pictures.  We are so very proud of you son, and so blessed to have you in our family.
