Trip to the Coast/Utah Spring Break

To start off Kyle's spring break we went on a trip to the Oregon coast with Kyle's parents and Heather and Zac's family. We went on a hike in the rain one day and we walked to the beach/sand dunes another day and stayed up late after the kids were asleep playing Hand and Foot. It was a lot of fun!

After we got home from the coast we packed up again and drove to Utah! I wanted to go back and see my friends from Spring Lake Elementary and my dear friends Amber and Ryan. Kyle wanted to see his mission buddies and surprise Kaitlyn. Our time there went way too fast. Then on our way home we stopped in Rexburg to surprise my sister Natalie and Kyle's brother Taylor. We had a wonderful time and it was a much needed break!

Snow Shoeing!!!

Ashley and I had been wanting to go snowshoeing for awhile this semester. I bought some snowshoes a couple years ago at a thrift store and Ashley got some nice ones from my parents for Christmas this year. My uncle Jay told me about a place up bear Mt. Hood called Frog Lake. I was very busy with school all semester but we found an open Saturday when I was sick of studying and headed up to the mountains. When we got there we were excited to see that they were having dog sled races. Unfortunately the races were done for the day but we did get to see one musher out for one last ride. It reminded me of the movie Iron Will. It was very cold and we couldn't seem to keep James bundled and comfortable at the same time. We didn't hike for very long but we had a great time!

This guy almost fell off his sled because the dogs were taking off so fast!

James at 10 months old

James is the light of my life! He is so adorable and sweet and I love him so much! I feel so lucky I get to be his mom! I just wanted to do a quick update of what he is doing and how he is growing! At 10 months he:
  • Gives the best smiles!
  • Crawls all over the place
  • Stands up and walks holding on the furniture a little
  • Started giving scowls
  • Slept through the night 3 or 4 times!
  • Still deciding if he likes baby food or people food or just milk
All I can say is that he is growing up way too fast! I can't believe he is so old!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Celebration of Smiles

Kyle volunteered with his Dental Class at the Children's Museum one weekend to help teach kids all about dental hygiene. They had different booths set up all over with different activities. Kyle was at the tooth pillow station (for the tooth fairy). James and I showed and and had a great time exploring the museum.

This wall has water running down and behind it is a room full of water toys and experiments! Too fun!

We were walking down a hall that looked like a forest and had trees to play in! Oh the green thing on James' face is a sugar bug! Face painting is fun!

This is a room full of clay. We are in the baby area where he can crawl around and play with clay to his little hearts content!

Next we went to the art room and painted a tooth.

This was the baby room with toys and books and mirrors all enclosed so the little ones can't escape.

James got a tatoo of a toothbrush

And last but not least here we are the tooth family!

Lovin' My Little Man

I am the luckiest Mom in the world! I just love my little man to death! He is so much fun and always making me laugh. One night Kyle was tickling him above his head and James was laughing so hard when he took a bite out of Kyle's forehead...

I have also been trying lots of new foods with James to find out what he likes to eat. One morning I made Orange Julius and James couldn't get enough if it!

Here are some pictures of him looking so cute in his apron from Nana C getting into things!

And lastly I think James might just take after his Daddy and be a dentist because he is always looking in our mouths...

Ashley's Hair

So pretty much my entire life I have had long hair. I cut my hair to my shoulders once and cried for a couple of days when I was 12 and ever since I have always gotten the same hair cut. I have been wanting to try something new but have been pretty nervous. Kyle has always encouraged me to do something new because he always knew I wanted to and needed the extra support so I did it!

AFTER...

So here is the new me!!! I am not going to lie I cried for a day and a half and hated it but now I love it! It is so easy to do and I feel cute! I donated my hair to Locks of Love so hopefully I can help someone out!
