Flutterby Designs DT - Family Christmas Traditions & Fa La La

Merry Christmas Flutterby peeps!!!

I hope Santa was kind to you and you survived the mad present opening frenzy that is Christmas morning.

I am just popping in before my little family and I head out the door to share two Christmas layouts featuring the completely awesome Fair Dinkum Chrissy collection by Flutterby Designs.

This is such a fun Christmas range and so perfect for a hot Aussie Christmas.

'Family Christmas Traditions'

I love this photo I snapped a couple of years ago now. I was aiming for a nice Christmas photo but got this instead. LOL My young son did not want his sister's arm on him. Hahaha. As much as I wanted a 'nice' photo, the outtakes are the ones I love best.

I created a lovely watercolour effect background on my layout just because it is my favourite thing to do. I spritzed my background with a generous amount of water first and then applied diluted Tropicana Teal Flutter Colour Paint using a large soft paintbrush. I kind of just dump the paint on the page and watch the water bleed it out before helping it along a little with my paintbrush.

I then layered on some of the Filler Photo Cards sticking to a teal, black and neutral colour scheme.

The Page Tabs are one of my all time favourite Flutterby products and I love to layer them above my photo.

My layout wouldn't be complete without a sprinkling of sweet little wood veneer pieces and cute die cuts.

Here's what I used:

For my second layout featuring a photo of my darling daughter, I have kept to a white, pink, red and kraft colour scheme.

'Fa La La'

How cute is that santa hat and the little reindeer?? They are from the Die Cut Bits & Bobs pack that is chockers full of awesome Christmas die cuts.

I strayed from my usual watercolour background for this one and simply squeezed some Raspberry Punch Flutter Colour Paint onto my layout. I then swiped away at it with a palette knife until I was happy with the coverage. As usual I sloshed on way more paint than I needed. It's typical of me which is why I always keep an art journal handy so I can swipe the excess paint onto a page or two to use later. Tags are good for this too if you have those laying around your desk.

I love the look of pink and red together and with a little kraft added too it's a pretty cool colour scheme.

I really wanted to use the Dear santa checklist Photo Card to go with my photo of my girl but it contained sentence enhancers. Now don't get me wrong I am a huge fan of sentence enhancers and must admit to using them quite regularly in everyday life. However I couldn't bring myself to use them on a layout with a photo of my daughter so I strategically placed a 'censored' sticker and a cute wood veneer present to hide them. It's a cool and creative way of covering up the naughty words if you don't want to use them.

Here's what I used:

Well I hope you are feeling inspired by my layouts today and you get a chance to sneak away and play with your own stash of Fair Dinkum Chrissy goodies. I am off to spend the morning at the zoo with my family followed by a lovely casual lunch at home.

Enjoy your Christmas day lovelies!

Cheers

Flutterby Designs DT | Bad Ass

Happy Saturday Peeps!

Today I have a layout to share for FLUTTERBY DESIGNS featuring the brand new fabulous We Run The World collection.

This layout focuses on the soft pinks and kraft contrasted with the striking black and white designs in the range.

'Bad Ass'

Of course I had to use this super embarassing photo of me messing about with neon pink zinc cream on my lips. I think my kids may have dared me to put it on and well a dare is a dare!

I started this layout by adding a soft wash of diluted Flutter Colour paint. I mixed together some Raspberry Punch with Arctic White to co-ordinate with the soft pinks in the photo cards. Once dry, I added some texture with the Sugar Sprinkles Stencil and some Golden Light Molding Paste.

I layered on some filler photo cards and embroidery thread as well as some chopped up quotes from the photo cards.

I finished by adding some embellishments, page tabs and sticky quick quotes.

Here's what I used:

I hope I have inspired you to create something with your own stash of this awesome range. Make sure you share your project in the Facebook Inspiration Group HERE so we can leave some love.

Oh and the deadline is looming to get your applications in to be a part of the most fun and awesome design team around. You still have the weekend so get cracking!! :-)

Thanks for stopping by the blog today. Have a great weekend.

Hello!

Today I am back with my last share for November (yes I know it is December already!!) for THE SCRAPBOOK STORE featuring Bo Bunny Penelope.

I have to admit that green is NOT my favourite colour to work with. I am not too fond of brown either. But combined together with a touch of blue they really seemed to work with the photo of my girl sitting on the frog at the Adelaide Zoo.

I added some flower clusters around the large chipboard piece.

I added some super cute Dusty Attic frog and dragonfly chipboard pieces.

Flutterby Designs DT | Pinkfest

Hello Flutterby Peeps!!

Today I have a couple of layouts to share with you for FLUTTERBY DESIGNS. And they both are very PINK!

The first layout I created a couple of weeks ago using bits and pieces from different collections. But then my DT kit with all of the fabulous NEW stuff arrived and I had to create with it straight away!! So I thought I would keep the pink flowing by focusing on those elements in the We Run The World collection.

'Sweetheart'

So I started this layout by mixing up some Raspberry Punch and Arctic White Flutter Colour Paints. I then swiped it across the layout with a palette knife.

I then stapled on some strips cut from Mad About You Filler Photo Cards before swiping over the edges with some of the leftover paint.

Next I layered on some messy embroidery thread as well as fussy cuts and a polaroid frame before adding my photo and all of the cute bits and pieces.

Here's what I used:
Die Cut Bits & Bobs: Mad About You

Next up is my layout featuring the BRAND NEW We Run The World Collection.

'Beautiful Girl'

For this layout, I was super excited to use the stunning new patterned papers. I LOVE the patterned papers so much and the titles of them are just perfect. I used the "Diana" paper for this one. I started by adding the same mix of Flutter Colour Paint to my background. I diluted the paints with water and also spritzed some water onto my layout to make sure I got the paint really flowing and moving about my page. Once it was dry I flicked some of the paint over the layout too.

Next I grabbed the super sweet Sugar Sprinkles Stencil and applied texture paste over it to create some lovely 3D sprinkles. I let that dry and then used a white Posca Pen to highlight some of the sprinkles.

Then I did my usual and added lots of layers of embroidery thread, filler photo cards and cute embellishments.

Here's what I used:
We Run The World:
- "Diana" patterned paper
- Everyday Etc Filler Photo Cards
- Everyday Etc Photo Cards
- Die Cut Bits & Bobs
- Polaroid Cut Outs
- Sticky Quick Quotes
- Sugar Sprinkles Stencil

I hope you are feeling inspired now to go forth and play with your Flutterby supplies. I hope the postie is kind to you too and your order arrives super quick! Make sure you share all of your gorgeous creations in the Facebook Inspiration HQ group so we can leave some love!

Thanks for stopping by.

The Scrapbook Store DT | Once Upon A Dream

Hi peeps!

Today I have another share for THE SCRAPBOOK STORE featuring the Bo Bunny Penelope collection.

'Once Upon A Dream'

I was really drawn to the blues in this collection. Probably because my favourite colour is blue (well aqua actually but that's a blue). So I wanted to create a fairly monochromatic layout featuring all of the soft blues. I was dying to try out my new Darkroom Door Fine Leaves Stamp Set too so I used those stamps as well as the Fine Flowers on the background. I stamped with embossing ink and heat set with a fine white detail embossing powder. I love the delicate look this gives.

I painted the 2 Crafty chipboard title with three coats of white gesso.

I added a lovely fussy cut flower cluster as well as paper flowers and a super cute Prima resin squirrel that I have had in my stash for a very long time waiting for the right project.

Here's what I used:
- Fine Flowers
DUSTY ATTIC Mini Roses
embroidery thread
sequins

Thanks for stopping by.

Kraft Plus DT - BIG!

Hello!!

Have you seen the BIG challenge at Kraft Plus Challenges this month?

Here's a peek at the challenge in case you missed it.

Kraft + something BIG on your layout.

I had fully intended to use a BIG photo on my layout for a change but I just happened to be out and about at my favourite shop ( Typo!) and came across some BIG rose gold photo corners in the bargain section. Cool!!

Here's what I created.

'Smile' Layout

In contrast to the large size of the photo corner I used a tiny photo.

I hope you get a chance to play along with the challenge this month.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers
B :-)
