Sweet Baby Sophie

Snug as a bug little Sophie Lauryn is getting ready to make her entrance into this big world. Misti went to the doctor on Monday and she is dilated to a 2! I talked to her yesterday and she is still having mild contractions. We are all so very excited. Today is Dad's birthday so I'm hoping he gets a great birthday present!!! I am never far from a phone and I sleep with the cordless phone at my head with my clothes layed out and ready! We are all so very excited we can hardly stand it! The doctor told her that if she didn't have her before next Monday they would probably put her in and induce early next week. I have already warned my boss that I am subject to flee the office at any time or not come in at all! The girls are so hyper. They are constantly asking me if it's time to go to the hospital. Reagon told Mrs Whitehead that she might have to leave school early and told her that it didn't matter if it was in the middle of testing...she was going anyway! Both girls have a bag packed in the trunk of my car with their nintendos, coloring books, clothes and Reagon's camera. Sophie....we are ready when you are!!! We can't wait to hold you and kiss your sweet little face. We love you already!!!!!

New dresses

The girls were so exited to wear their new dresses from Nanny and Poppi. I tried to get them to wait until the weather was a little warmer but they couldn't stand it. They had to wear them now. They both looked so cute for church on Sunday morning.

Weekend Wedding

On Saturday, Sabrina and I took a little road trip to a wedding in Texas. My good friend Misti Wagley was getting married and I didn't want to miss it. Sabrina and I both met up at the Kirby ballfield at 8am to help with the work day clean up. We were in charge of the trash pick up and raking/burning leaves. By the time we left to get ready for the wedding, we smelled like a chiminy! I had to wash my hair 3 times to get the smoke smell out. Sabrina picked me up at 11am and we were on our way to Texas. The wedding was so pretty and the weather was nice and sunny for an outdoor wedding. Misti looked beautiful! This was a true Texas wedding. The wedding took place at Misti's new inlaw's ranch. The men wore a tux/jean combo and black cowboy hats, the cake was decorated with a horseshoe on top, cowboy hats and bandanas were mixed in with the flowers....it was really pretty. I am so happy for Misti and Buster. They make such a good couple! It was also great to see my friend Cindy at the wedding. We don't get to see each other much anymore but when we do, we pick up right where we left off. We could talk for hours! Sabrina and I made it home at 7:30 Sat night and we were both exhausted but had a great time.

Let the Yard Sales Begin!

My favorite season is spring...a close runner up is fall. I love to see the grass getting greener, the sun shining brighter, the flowers and trees blooming.....and most of all THE YARD SALES! This year, I'll have to hit the sales in the mornings before work or on the weekends since I'm in a cardio club on my lunch hour. As cold as it is this morning, I was surprised to see a yard sale at Creekside. I always slow down and see if I recognize the vehicle or the person holding the yard sale. Yes!!! It was lady from Salem and she has two daughters and they always have on the most adorable dresses. I stopped and she recognized me and told me the girls dresses were still in a box in her Tahoe and I could look at them before she put them out. I ended up with 18 VERY CUTE dresses (I could have bought 30!!! They were all nice), two church coats, on pair of shoes, and two skirts for me.....grand total? $22!!!! Most of the dresses have smocking and matching bows. I will have to beg and plead to get Kendall to wear them but hopefully she will. Even if she only wears them once, I can pass them down to Lexi, Harli, Aubri, Maya, Kamry, Ava, Sophie, Taylor....there is no shortage of girls to pass them to! Another fun thing about yard sales this year...I get to shop for a BOY! I always find so many cute boy outfits but I have never had anyone to buy for. Now, I can start racking up little nike outfits and gap shirts for Landon! If anyone is looking for a Saturday yard sale partner...give me a call! I'm ready!

Spring Break

Both girls are out for spring break this week. Actually, Reagon is out and so I let Kendall skip preschool this week. Yesterday they stayed with Nanny. Both girls told me yesterday morning that I did not have to worry about cooking them anything for breakfast....Nanny would fix Reagon her requested toast and eggs (somehow, I can't make them quite like Nanny) and Kendall would get flitters. When I picked them up yesterday afternoon, they told me they had a great day. They visited Nana and got to play "monster" with Poppy. I dropped them off with one bag of clothes and for some reason, they had a handful of extra stuff sent home with them. Reagon was carrying a new American Idol barbie and a new dress and Kendall had on a cinderella outfit and was carrying a new dress. Grandparents are so much fun. I rememeber how much Misti and Alissa and I LOVED to go to Nana and Papa's house. Papa would always cook for us and Nana would baby our every want and need. When we stayed the night, she would always tuck us in and we were covered in mountains of quilts! No way would we get cold...we could barely move. In the mornings, we could smell bacon and flitters cooking in the kitchen. Uhuh and Frances were the same way. We were spoiled to no end. Every Thursday morning (payday as Uhuh called it) we got a bag of goodies. Still to this day, every Thursday morning I see Frances and she has a bag of goodies for the girls....today it was some cookies, several pieces of gum, stickers, a notepad and a dollar each. We also loved to see Grandma Haggard driving up at our old house. She always had a bag full of clothes for us girls from a yard sale and it was like Christmas. We would dump the bag in the middle of the living room floor and the fashion show would begin! I always loved to go see Nanny Fant. We would go straight to her stove and lift up the dish cloth. She always saved us some of her biscuits. I look back now and know she made extra biscuits just for us. She knew we would be coming by after grocery shopping. I laugh when I thnk about how many times we tried to scare her. Giggling the whole time we would "sneak" up behind her chair and jump/scream at her. She always acted like it scared her to death! We did the same thing to Grandpa Reid...we would sneak up while he was "sleeping" and when we got right up to his recliner, he would yell and pop his false teeth at us! It was sooo much fun and Grandma Reid got such a big kick out of it. I'm sure my kids and Misti/Alissa's kids will have similar memories.

And we wonder why America is in such bad shape

On Wednesday, March 1st, 2006 in Annapolis, Maryland at a hearing on the proposed Constitutional Amendment to prohibit gay marriage, Jamie Raskin, professor of law at American University, was requested to testify.
At the end of his testimony, Republican Senator Nancy Jacobs said: "Mr. Raskin, my bible says marriage is only between a man and a woman.
What do you have to say about that?"
Raskin replied: "Senator, when you took your oath of office, you placed your hand on the Bible and swore to uphold the Constitution. You did not place your hand on the Constitution and swear to uphold the Bible."
The room erupted into applause.

The room eruped into applause??? Where were the christians? I will be sending another email today to our US Gov to voice my opinion. I do not want to stand by and let our voices go unheard. It is time for the Christians of America to unite and stand up for what is right.

Let me state that I do not in any way advocate hating homosexuals (or anyone, for that matter). Only that we must not accept practices opposed to God's will, just because society has deemed it acceptable. I pray that through the power of the Holy Spirit, God will change the hearts of homosexuals to turn from their way, and turn to God instead.

Pink Panther

Never...Ever...leave a four year old unattended!!! I was cooking dinner and the girls were playing the playstation. They are only allowed 30 minutes each a day on the playstation so usually they play while I cook dinner. Kendall had just finished her turn and normally she sits with Reagon to watch her play. Not this time! She snuck into Reagon's room and found her makeup. I love the look on her face when I caught her. I spied her through the door and ran to get my camera before she noticed me. She told me she was trying to be the Pink Panther! I stripped her down and soaked her in a bubble bath and scrubbed and scrubbed. When Josh came home he thought she had a sunburn!!!=) She was still tinted pink this morning. And Nanny...no she didn't get in trouble! I was laughing too hard to spank her. But she did have to scrub the carpet!

Baby girls on the way!

Sat night we picked up Reagon at Alissa & Kevin's house in Hot Springs. She stayed the night with them on Saturday night and had a blast. I know they went bowling and out to eat and no telling what else! She sure gets spoiled by her aunts & uncles! Speaking of spoiling, I can't wait for baby Sophie and baby Taylor to get here. I could barely keep my hands off of Alissa and Misti's growing tummys! They both look so good! Taylor's nursery is so sweet. She has the sweetest bedding in a beautiful burgandy with snails and toadstools and flowers. After her baby shower I'm going to take some pictures to post but I found a picture of the bedding so everyone can see how sweet it is. After visiting with Alissa and Kevin and picking up Reagon we drove over to Misti and Jerry's house. They had just made it home from a baby shower in Umpire and let me just say, little Sophie is going to be one well dressed little girl. I had so much fun going through all the little dresses in the closet and Kendall & Reagon couldn't get over all the cute little shoes! I didn't have my camera with me but I stole some pictures off of Misti's blog. This is the unfinished version of Sophie's nursery. It is finished now so the next time I go visit, I'm taking my camera to post some finished pictures. You won't believe how cute it is! Now, if the next few weeks will just fly by! I can't hardly stand to wait!

Fun filled weekend

As always, our weekend was filled with activities. We spent the night at Memaw Vicie's on Saturday night. As you can see from all the pictures, we had a good time as usual. Jas was so proud of the fish he caught..I just love the picture of him holding up the net full of fish. Auntie fried the fish and I think this is probably the first time Kendall has had fried fish and she loved it. I know she ate four pieces and then went back for more! Believe it or not, the three darling girls in the picture got in more trouble....this time it involved the toilet and several articles of clothing. Memaw Mary Nell said she was going to get a hook latch to go on the door! I love the picture of Danton surrounded by girls. It's like that the whole time Danton or Hudson are there and the best part is the way they treat the girls. They always play with them & show them attention. The girls just eat it up. Most boys their age wouldn't want little girls around bothering them. As you can see from all the pictures, we had a fun weekend.

Back to the grind

Well, it's Monday again already and unfortunately I have to work today. We had a super busy weekend. On Saturday morning we had our taxes done. I love these pictures. Kendall was mad at me because I wouldn't let her take her shirt off in the tax office so she was getting some lovin' from Josh. Oh and by the way, many of my post may seem boring to those who read but this is a way for me to journal daily activities with our family that I don't want to forget.

Happy St Pattys Day

The picture posted is from yesterday. The girls DID have green on today. Kendall couldn't wait to pinch me this morning. We are gearing up for another busy weekend. Reagon will be staying with Issy and Kevin on Sat night. She can't wait to help take care of Landon and Kamry. Kendall will be with us...she doesn't miss an opportunity to go to Memaw Vicie's to play with Lexi. We are meeting Issy and Kevin and Misti and Jerry on Sunday night. I want to see the new appt and all the baby shower goodies! We have Reagon's softball schedule now...Darla will be her coach and her practices will be on Tuesday and Thursday at 5:30. I'm hoping Kendall will have the same practice times but I think she will have Monday and Fridays and games on Saturday. We should know her schedule this afternoon. I see lots of hot dogs and sandw/chips for supper the coming weeks! Hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoys the sunshine today!

And then there were three.....

We decided it was time to downsize the farm....going from 15 dogs to 3 dogs overnight. It is getting harder and harder to take care of everything since we are gone most weekends...we are only home in the evenings and that will change soon due to softball & teeball. The cows have been sold, the goats will be sold soon, the cats are gone, the horses (except Cinnamon) are next. It is a little sad for us. The girls hated to see Clara Bell (cow) go and we really don't want to get rid of little Bill (goat) but we know that we need to. Josh would like to give Jasmine to another family but I can't stand to do it. She may be a big dog and a pain in the rump but she is my dog and I can't stand to let her go. Of course, Oscar (weenie dog) is a part of the family so he will always be with us. So now the Harper Farm consists of one great dane, one beagle..Naomi, and one spoiled rotten weenie dog. Not much of a farm but sooo much easier to take care of. Now, let the yard work begin! Poor Josh, he just cringes to hear me say that!!!!=)

Happy Birthday Caleb!

Last night we all met at Chili Peppers in Arkadelphia for Caleb's 19th birthday party. It was a great night spent with family, lots of little girls laughing and playing, good food and conversation. After we ate, Josh and the girls and I went back to Caleb's trailer to visit. When I look at Caleb, I think Reagon will be his age in just 10 short years. I wish I could slow down time. Thanks to Memaw Teresa and Papaw Roger for dinner!

More birthday pictures

We had so much fun playing American Idol with the girls. Josh had his recorder set up with the microphone and we let all the girls pick out a song to sing. Josh recorded them and then burned the songs on a cd for the girls to take home with them. One of the craft projects was decorating their own cd holder and label. We have everything on the cd from Victory in Jesus to Holla Back Girl...from Sweet by and by to Hillary Duff! The girls also decorated their own guitars.

Birthday Party games and crafts

I wanted to post a few pictures of the girls playing games at the birthday party and working on crafts. NOTE: You can always 'click' on the pictures to view them full size.
