17 week update....Baby Harper will soon have a name

Two weeks from today we will find out if baby Harper will be a little bundle wrapped in pink or blue. We are so excited. The girls can't wait. We went shopping yesterday before Reagon's dentist appt and ventured back to the baby dept in Walmart. Reagon kept throwing pink things in the shopping cart and Kendall would throw in the blue! We picked out the bedding...Reagon found the cutest little pink butterfly set for a girl and Kendall picked out an adorable jungle theme for a boy. We can't wait to actually go back and buy the appropriate one. We don't yet know the gender, but we do know the names. We have decided on Paisey Asher (Paisey) for a little girl and Jedidiah Roger (Jed) for a boy. Runner up names...Charlie for a girl and Andrew Pike for a boy. The girls already use "their" names in conversations. Kendall wanted to borrow some of her baby brother Jed's clothes for her baby doll Emily and Reagon wants little Paisey's baby bed in her room. I don't know if I can stand to wait two more weeks!!!!!

Jed/ Paisey....your Mommy and Daddy love your name! Both are biblical names...Jedidiah is a Hebrew name meaning "Beloved of God". It is also the name by which King Solomon (David's son)was known....one of the wisest kings in the bible. Asher was a son of Jacob. In Revelations, Asher is among the Tribes who are promised the Seal of God for 12,000 of their members. The name Asher means "happy."

4-H Day at Lake Greeson

Last Thursday Reagon attended the 4-H Lake Greeson Day at Laurel Creek. She had a good time learning about water safety, fish, soil, water, and of course...Smokey the Bear! Kendall was so upset, because she really wanted to see him! Reagon's next 4-H activity day is Fun Day at the municipal bldg on Tuesday morning.

4 month pregnancy update

Everything was right on target at my 16week dr appt on Tuesday. I've only gained 1 1/2 pounds but the doctor said my stomach is measuring "big" so we may have a 10lb+ baby like Uncle Caleb! I'm scheduled for a level 2 ultrasound in two weeks at Little Rock and will probably get an amnio the same day. Dr Henson told me the Level 2 and Amnio is strictly up to us, so I decided on the ultrasound but I'm still not too sure about the amnio. They will be checking for Coloboma, like Kendall. It's not a big deal at all and it will have no effect on the pregnancy. The only reason I would like to know is so the pediatric doctors will be ready for it at delivery. We are excited about the ultrasound since we will know 100% sure that day if we are getting a Harper girl or boy.

First Day of Church Camp

Sunday after church service, the girls and I took Josh out to eat for Father's Day. After we ate lunch, we registered Reagon at church camp. The registration was supposed to begin at 3pm and we got there at 2pm and the place was already packed. We got the LAST double bunk in the girls dorm. Thankfully, she and her friend Megan are able to bunk together and have a bottom bunk. I told her the top bunks would be so hot & they could have their fans on them if they were on the bottom. That sounded good to Reagon because she loves sleeping with a fan, just like I do! I counted 50 girls and I know more girls were coming in after we got there. We left about 4:30pm and then came back at 6:30pm for church service. She & Megan had already made a couple friends their age and they were having fun. After the service, they had snack time and then they had to be in the dorms with the lights out at 10pm so we left around 9:30. Kendall did NOT want to leave. She thought she was just as big as the other girls! She cried and cried most of the way home until she finally fell asleep! She wasn't the only one crying =) (it wasn't Reagon or Josh!!ha)I worried myself sick all the way home and half the night last night that she would get a migraine or get scared and want to come home. Josh said she probably didn't think twice about us after we left and he is probably right. We are going up tonight after Josh gets off work and we will stay the night tonight and be there all day tomorrow till late tomorrow night. We will have to leave for a little while tomorrow morning for my dr appt but we should be back to camp around noon. Kendall is so excited that she is actually going to get to stay tonight! She has her sleeping bag and Emily doll all ready to go!

Church Camp

Reagon is going for the first time ever to church camp next week. Like everything else, I have researched this to death. 100 ways to help your child prepare for camp....summer camp packing checklist....cool things to do at camp....tips for a happy camper....etc!! I've tried to remember all the necessities plus other things like...her address book from home so her new friends can add their phone numbers and such, putting her outfits together including the hair accessories in gallon size ziplock bags for easy access to and from the showers, swim shoes for the showers, a white pillow case and marker so her friends can sign and she can have for a keepsake, a cheap disposable camera so she can take her own pictures, etc.

I know she will have a great time. Josh, Kendall, & I will be at camp every night for the church service so that should help. Josh and I have both told her numerous stories about how much fun we had at church camp. I told her that Nanny made most of my outfits for camp and she thought that was sooo funny. We were in Walmart on Monday and I told her I was going to look at material to make her some outfits. She & Kendall both got a big kick out of that! Hopefully next week I will have some great camp pictures to post and will have stories about all the new friends she has made.

All Star Tournament

Reagon played in a softball tournament in Sheridan on Saturday. She had a great time, despite the 100 degree weather. Thanks to Nanny and Poppi for driving us to Sheridan and enduring the heat. Now that softball is over, she will be preparing for 4th grade pee-wee basketball!

Babysitting Fun

On Friday night we got to keep baby Taylor for a couple hours! The girls had fun passing her back and forth. Kendall found her baby doll playpen and Taylor fit perfectly inside. Alissa may not let her stay with us again!
