One month old

It's hard to believe Jed is already a month old. He is such a good baby and has grown so much. The girls are so much help. They both love to hold him and hate to hear him cry. I love to hear Kendall call him "her little buddy". Reagon is really good at rocking him to sleep... I think he loves the sound of her voice because he will drift off to sleep when she holds and rocks him. He is so spoiled already and I can't wait to spoil him more!!

Christmas at our house

The girls managed to get in bed before midnight on Christmas Eve. They baked snickerdoodle cookies for Santa and put out the glass of milk and wrote a letter to Santa. Santa came a little after midnight and left a huge pile of gifts.....a bike, an ipod, a digital camera, chou chou dolls, nintendo ds games, and much more. The girls were up a little after 7am and ready to get started opening gifts. Josh cooked a big breakfast and we spent almost a solid hour opening gifts. The main gift of the year came when Josh asked the girls to look on the front porch.....they started screaming with excitement when they found the pink fourwheeler. Josh bought this for them a few weeks ago and I think he was just as excited as they were. They have had so much fun on it, despite the cold weather. I'm sure they will spend alot of time on it, especially when the weather warms up.

All in all, we had a wonderful Christmas and I'm already looking forward to next year.

After Santa dropped off the gifts........

Five Generations

Christmas Eve

On Sunday afternoon we made the trip to Memaw Vicie's house. This was Jed's first visit to Possum Kingdom. The table was filled with lots of good food and we enjoyed our visit with everyone. After opening gifts we left for home earlier than planned. Josh wasn't feeling well at all and has been sick with a terrible sinus infection ever since. Although a short visit, we enjoyed the evening.

Jed's first trip to church

On Sunday morning, Jed made his first trip to church. He was dressed up in a cute little Christmas outfit from Eddie and Carol. He was a good little boy in church and everyone commented on how cute he was!

Harper Family Christmas Breakfast

Last year we started a new family tradition at Memaw Teresa & Papa Roger's house. We have Christmas breakfast together. I love this and hope we continue to do this every year. We had a wonderful breakfast this year...waffles, eggs, ham, muffins, a breakfast casserole, and more! The kids could hardly eat for thinking about opening gifts. After we finished eating and before we opened gifts, Teresa asked that we all reflect on the past year......a trying year at times but a joyful year as well. The gifts were passed out and the wrapping paper went flying! We all such a good time together. Aubri and Ava have grown up so much in the past year. I remember last year April held Ava most of the time but this year she was running all over the house. Aubri is so funny and talks like a little lawyer. I get so tickled at her when I listen in on her conversations with the girls. She is such a sweet little girl. Reagon and Kendall received sooo many nice gifts. It seemed like the presents just kept coming. I'm sure Papa Roger and Memaw Teresa have empty pockets after this years' Christmas shopping. Uncle Skunk (Caleb) bought Jed the cutest little baby guitar. I plan on taking it with me to the portrait studio when I have his birth announcement pictures made.

Baking for Santa

The girls had fun baking cookies and muffins for Santa.

Christmas at Nanny and Poppi's house

On the Friday before Christmas we celebrated at Nanny and Poppi's house. The food was great...I ate way too much of Papa's deer meat and biscuits and Tasha's butter cake. I think I can blame my 3 pound holiday weight gain on those three things! This year was so much fun with all new the little ones. Sophie, Taylor and Jed all celebrated their first Christmas together. Reagon was a big help with passing out gifts and carrying the babies around. Kendall was the ring leader of her little 'group'...Maya, Landon and Kamry. They all play so good together. Jonah kept me laughing all night. He has such a personality. Mom says he reminds her so much of Brent when he was his age. When the gifts came out, the chaos began. Lots of unwrapping and squealing and laughing. It was a great night and a wonderful start to the holiday madness.

Watching Cartoons

This morning while I was cooking breakfast the girls were watching cartoons while Jed was laying beside them on his blanket. I looked over and couldn't resist snapping this picture of all three watching cartoons! We are getting so excited for Christmas. Today is "baking day" at the Harper house. We cleaned all day yesterday so we could spend the entire day today doing "fun stuff". Tonight begins the Christmas parties.....we have Christmas dinner at Nanny and Poppi's house at 6pm. Can't wait to spend time with family and see all the kids playing together. Nanny and Poppi went from 4 grandkids last Christmas to 7 this year!!!!! Hope Poppi worked some overtime this year to pay for all the presents!! LOL

Meeting Santa

Last night we took the kids to see Santa at the Newhope Fire Dept. Reagon and Kendall both sat in his lap and told him what they wanted for Christmas. Santa was a little off his game......it's a long story and I'm not sure I should tell it here! LOL

Next year we will try to make it to the mall for a real Santa picture.

Two weeks old

I can't believe Jed is already two weeks old. I can say without a doubt that he is spoiled rotten already. He is rarely ever put down. Before having him, I had a list of projects that I could get done around the house on my 8wk maternity leave while he slept. Well, NOTHING on the list is done and I doubt it will get done. I hold him no matter if he is asleep or awake. When the girls and Josh get home in the evenings, they hold him until we go to bed at night. We are so happy to finally have him here and Josh and I both feel like our family is complete. What a great feeling!

As you can see in the picture, Jed loves his big sisters. Both Reagon and Kendall are such big helpers. Reagon is really good at holding him while I cook supper or help Kendall with homework and Kendall is our little gopher. She is constantly going after something for me....getting diapers, wipee, etc while I'm busy holding or nursing Jed. Neither one of the girls can stand to hear him cry. They both try to console him when I'm changing his diaper...which he hates!

We are really looking forward to Christmas this year. The Lord has blessed our family in so many ways and we are so thankful for all that we have and look forward to a great 2007.

Taylor Ann

Kevin, Alissa and Taylor Ann came by yesterday to visit and see Jed. I couldn't resist taking some pictures of Taylor in her cute little coat. Her face looked so chunky and her eyes were so big and bright blue! She is really growing up fast.
