3 months old

Jed, it is so hard to believe you are already 3 months old!! I want to document a few things you are doing now so I don't forget all the cute things you do!

You are such a happy baby early in the morning time. Your Daddy and I both love to wake you up each morning. You will stretch your arms wide over your head and then rub your eyes for a couple minutes. Then you are all smiles! I lay out your clothes each night before bedtime and your Daddy gets you dressed each morning while I get your sisters ready for school.

Your favorite things----your pooh passy and your razorback mobile.

You are starting to like your swing & bouncer.

You love bathtime. When I give you a bubblebath, you just look so relaxed. Sometimes when you are fussy, I give you a bath and you calm down so fast. Kendall is the bathtime helper. She helps rub the baby wash on you and when we finish the bath, I hold you up and she wraps you in your hooded towel.
You take a full 4oz bottle every 3-4 hours. You love pear juice but we only give you about 2 ounces a day. If you take any more than that, it give you a tummy ache. You have started sucking on your hand and thumb. I don't think you have quite figured out what they are yet, but you love to put your hands in your mouth. You are also starting to kick more. We lay you on a pallet in the floor and you will kick and squirm and try to roll over. You can roll half way on your side already...I think you will be rolling over any day now.
You are a very good little boy in church. Sometimes on Sunday morning you go to your little class with Ms Betty.....other times you go in the classroom with your Daddy and me.
We all have several nicknames for you....

I call you Jeddy Boo

Your Daddy calls you Jack-a-roo

Reagon calls you "bubba"

Kendall calls you "little buddy" or Pine Knot (she got that from Poppi)

We love you so much and enjoy you more and more each day!

Too cute!!

I love Jed's big eyes in this picture. He has about 40 hats in his closet and I try to put one on him every time we go out. I was looking through them last night and he has some of the cutest little summer hats! I can't wait until the weather warms up where we can go outside to play. I'm sure he will have fun in Papa Rog and Nana Memaw's pool this summer.

Two little mommies

Jed is getting spoiled more and more by his two older sisters. They constantly want to hold him or feed him. I laugh everytime I look at this picture of Kendall! She runs around the house like this 90% of the time in the evenings. When Caleb comes over, she will fly down the hall to get her pajamas on.

Ready for church

I love this picture! Beverly Fox made this little hat for Jed and I think it looks so cute on him! As you can tell, Jed did not want to have his picture made.

The Last Valentine

Jim was in trouble. He forgot Valentines Day.
His wife was really angry.
She told him, "Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift
in the driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in 6 seconds
AND IT BETTER BE THERE!" The next morning Jim got up early and left for work.
When his wife woke up, she looked out the window and sure enough there was a box gift- wrapped in the middle of the driveway. Confused, the wife put on her robe and ran out to the driveway,
brought the box back in the house.
She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale.
Jim has been missing since yesterday.

I thought this was so funny!!!

We had a great Valentine's day. The kids got tons of stuff, as usual.

Josh and I had decided to only spend about $5 on each other since we buy for the kids. Well, I bought Josh a $8 hat on sale for $2....it was a nice looking plain hat so the girls took markers and made it a "Chicken House hat". They wrote all over it and put designs on it. I thought it turned out so cute. Then I bought a $2 frame that read "I LOVE DADDY" and put a picture of Josh holding Jed right after delivery. Added to it a $1 card with a "love letter" =) and I thought I did pretty good considering the budget. Well, I have learned my lesson. Never make a deal with a preacher! LOL I came home yesterday to the biggest bouquet of roses, a card, a picture for my kitchen and a dancing wolf that sings "Hey little miss riding hood, you sure are looking good....."(it is hilarious and the girls love it!!). That's a really good deal for only $5!!!

2 months old

I'm a little behind on getting Jed's 2 month notes posted......
I can't believe he is already over two months old!
It seems like just a week or so ago we were in the hospital waiting for his arrival.
Weight: 12lb 2oz
Length: 23 inches at last check but I think he has grown a couple more!
Other than a round of sickness with the nasty RSV bug, Jed is a healthy little boy. He loves to be held and is starting to really like his swing. He loves pear juice and will drink about 4 ounces a day. I can't believe how much he loves his winnie the pooh passies..especially since both girls never took one. Of course, he sleeps with us in our bed. We have tried the baby bed several times but he always ends up with us. We use the baby bed for naps during the day (sometimes). When he feels ok, he normally only wakes up one time around 2 or 3am for a bottle. Hoping to get back to that schedule soon! It's so fun to watch the girls interact with Jed. They love to make him smile. Reagon is the biggest helper. She absolutely hates to hear him cry and will rock him almost the entire time I'm cooking or doing something around the house. I told her that we need to let him lay on a quilt in the floor to strenghten his neck muscles but she can't stand to hear a single whimper out of him. She will pick him up every time and say "Sissy is here". He loves her so much already! Kendall is the entertainer. If Jed is in the swing, she will dance and sing to him to make him smile. I can't wait to hear him laugh at her. He is such a good car rider...90% of the time he falls asleep as soon as we get started down the driveway. He is changing so fast every day. As you can tell from the pictures, he looks so much like his Daddy.....which is a good thing since his Daddy is so handsome!

Bathtime Fun

Sophie, Taylor and Jed

Now we just need to get a pictures of all three in the tub together!

Jed's visit to the eye doctor

Jed had an eye appt at Arkansas Children's Hospital last week. Everything turned out great...thanks for all the prayers. We will go back in 4 months so he can be rechecked. He was such a good boy at the doctor. He barely cried when they gave him the drops to dilate his eyes. I've been through this numerous times with Kendall and Josh has also been with us several times but it still isn't easy. We were so afraid little Jed would scream forever since the drops sting. He cried for about 10 seconds and then he was just fine. He slept the entire car ride both to Little Rock and back. Josh and I enjoyed our day together. We rarely get out of Pike County anymore, it seems. I love the picture of Josh holding Jed...I think Jed looks so big in this one!
Again, thanks for the prayers.

Little Razorback

I love this picture of Jed and Kendall....he doesn't look to happy!

Since Jed has been sick over the last couple of weeks, Josh and I have been taking off work to keep him along with help from several family members....Memaw Mary Nell, Memaw Vicie, Nana Memaw (Teresa), Papa Rog, my sister Alissa and my mom. As you can imagine, Jed is even more spoiled now!!

When Josh keeps him, I will lay out Jed's baby clothes along with his baby bath and lotion so Josh doesn't have to search for something to put on him. I usually lay out a onesie and matching pants......something casual and comfortable since he will be home all day. I came home one day this week and Josh dressed him up in this little razorback outfit. I laughed because he pulled the tags off of two seperate outfits and put the top from one outfit on him and the pants from another outfit!!

I called Josh on my way home from work and when he answered the phone it sounded like he was at a circus! He said he had a baby on one hip, a spatula in his hand and two girls running wild through the house! I wish I had a picture of that!!!

Feeling Yucky!

We don't recommend any visitors to our house unless you are wearing a mask and carrying a can of lysol! =) I was wrong in thinking since we all had our flu shots this year we wouldn't get sick! It seems since the first of January, someone in our house has been sick. Josh was very sick over the Christmas holiday and around New Years. He started feeling better just in time for Kendall to get sick. She has about one more day left of antibiotics and hopefully she will get rid of that nasty smokers cough she has. Reagon has felt bad the last few days and missed two days of school. She came with me to work on Wednesday and slept on the rug under my desk. She woke up after about an hour long nap and was burning up with a fever. After a visit to the dr and more antibiotics, we thought she was on the mend. Unfortunately, she had a bad allergic reaction to the Zpack and woke up looking like a chipmunk with a bad sunburn. She is now on another type of antibiotics and hopefully will be feeling better soon. On top of being sick, she received a major blow to her right eye and worried us to death. The dr said that it looks ok but she has a black eye and walks around holding a washcloth to it since it constantly waters up. We were hoping little Jed would somehow not get sick, but that's not the case. We took him to the doctor yesterday and Dr Heinemann said he just has a nasty cold bug. Thankfully, he does not have RSV. There is really nothing they can do for him since he is so little. We can give him a small dose of pediacare but it doesn't seem to help his croupy cough and runny nose. He really doesn't act sick, he still smiles and plays with us but at night he has a terrible time resting. I've been sleeping in the recliner holding him so I can have him elevated and keep his nose clean. Josh spent the entire night last night checking on Reagon making sure her swelling wasn't getting worse. He would actually set his alarm clock for every hour on the hour and go turn her light on to check her face and breathing. Needless to say, we all need some rest! I'm working till noon today....Josh is at home with all three kids...and hopefully when I get off work and get home we can all crash for the night. I plan on making a big bowl of chicken-n-dumplins and renting a movie for all of us to watch. The girls can drag their sleeping bags into the living room and we will just camp out there tonight in our pjs. Josh has been keeping a fire going in the fireplace so we have a cozy place to rest. I'm sure we will be filling up on hot chocolate and marshmallows, too! I told Reagon and Kendall that it's hard being sick when you are out of school for a snow day! I remember Misti and Alissa and I spending hours outside playing in the snow...sledding down the hill & trying to build a snowman. I wish the girls could go outside and enjoy the snow but I guess they will have to enjoy it from the living room window. I wonder if we have enough for homemade ice cream????
