Collier wedding

We want to thank Derrick and Brandy for asking the girls to be a part of their special day. Kendall was the flower girl and Reagon was a junior bridesmaid. The wedding was beautiful! It was held at Garven Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs. Derrick was on cloud 9 and did an amazing job singing at the wedding and Brandy was one of the prettiest brides ever. I can't wait to see the pictures from the wedding photographer. These are just a few shots from my digital camera.

Magic Springs

A few weeks ago the girls and I had a play day at Magic Springs/Crystal Falls. We picked up Alexa and then met up with my good friend from South La...Selena and her daughter Claire...and we had a great time together. We ate lunch at the Cracker Barrell and then spent the rest of the day running all over the park. The girls had so much fun with Claire and I loved spending the day with Selena. I had to laugh at Claire during lunch..she ordered shrimp and couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. I told her to never order seafood in Arkansas..it will never taste as good as what she is used to fresh from the gulf. I would love to be able to spend a day with them in La sometime...hopefully next year the girls and I will make the long drive to see them since they made the long drive this time. My mouth waters just thinking about the yummy cajun seafood!

Fun in the Sun

The difference in a $1 bottle and a $44 bottle of slip-n-slide oil!!

The girls are really enjoying their summer break from school. I have tried my best to keep them to somewhat of a schedule. They don't have a bedtime in the summer except on Saturday nights before church and they are allowed to sleep as late as they want. Kendall is usually up around 9:30am but Reagon crawls out of bed around 11:30 every day...she stays up very late reading every night. Almost every morning they want pancakes for breakfast....I keep thinking they will get tired of pancakes but they keep requesting it. Now, I have to buy syrup about as much as I buy ketchup! After they eat they usually go outside and play for a couple of hours. They have a list of chores that they usually have finished before 2:00pm every day. They have had so much fun on the trampoline, riding bikes, running through the sprinkler, playing on the swingset, and anything else they can get into. A couple weeks ago Josh decided to rig up a tarp at the end of their slide. He fixed the water hose where it would continuously run water down the slide and then onto the tarp. The girls would climb up the steps, slide down the slide and onto the tarp where they would zip across the yard on their backs. They had a blast. Josh got the idea to add baby oil to the slide and tarp and they shot down the slide like a cannon ball and flew off the tarp. They lost the baby oil so Josh decided to find an alternative. As you can tell from the pictures, he used my Biosilk in place of the baby oil. For those of you who know about biosilk, as you can imagine...I was about to go crazy! The bottle was more than 3/4 full and it was empty by the time they finished squirting it on the slide. A full bottle will usually last me about 9 months...this one made it about 2 months! It is funny now, but it wasn't funny at the time!! LOL We have been hitting Papa Rog and Nana Memaw's pool almost every evening. The girls ask a hundred times a day about going to the pool. One night it was almost 10:00pm before we made it over to their house! We have so many things we want to do before the girls go back to school.....we want to try and go back to Magic Springs several times, hit the water park at Arkadelphia, see Shrek the Third, and several other things. Reagon and Kendall both have a couple more basketball camps and two or three VBSs so we will have a busy but fun summer.

Kendall and Ashley

We sure enjoyed Kendall's kindergarten graduation ceremony. She looked so cute and did a wonderful job on stage with her class. The teachers gave out end of the year awards and Kendall won the writing award. Her journal is so fun to read. I may scan a few pages to post here so you all can read some of her writing. She sure has an imagination. Thanks to Nanny and Poppy for hosting the graduation party. They had a huge spread of food and drinks for everyone to enjoy before the ceremony.

6 month update

I am so far behind on updating this blog!!

I can hardly believe Jed is 6 months old already. He is growing so fast and the time is sure flying by! He is changing so much everyday and we are amazed at all the new things he is doing now. He is sitting up great and is beginning to "scoot" around on the floor. We lay him on a pallet in the middle of the living room floor and in just a matter of minutes he has managed to make his way off the pallet. We will probably have a crawler very soon. He is loving his walker right now. He can go all over the house in it. He will start off in the living room and end up down the hall. He isn't reaching for us yet, but he is very close to it. He will almost leap out of our arms if he wants to go to someone near. He loves to be on his stomach. We always try to lay him on his back, especially for naps and bedtime but in seconds, he rolls to his stomach. Josh and I are both stomach sleepers so I guess he gets that from us. We tried out his new baby bathtub last night and he had a ball. It's an inflatable bathtub that fits perfectly inside the big tub. He splashed and squeeled and didn't want to get out of the bath. We all had a big time watching him. He has already outgrown his baby bath seat and is quickly outgrowing his car seat. We laugh everytime we put him in it because his legs hang out over the edge several inches and it's like lifting weights to try and carry him in it. We are taking Jed for his 6 month shots next week. I estimate he weighs around 18lbs now. We have started baby food and he LOVES it! So far he has liked everything we've tried...green beans, green peas, squash, sweet potatoes, bananas, applesause, pears...just to name a few. He has been a little sick the past couple of weeks. He has had a runny nose, nasty cough and a heat rash. He also has very dry skin...he gets that from me. We are going to try some Eucerin cream on him but if that doesn't do the trick, we'll have to get a prescription. As you can tell from the pictures, he is getting very spoiled, especially by his sisters!! They have found a new way to keep him happy....the stroller! Anytime he starts to get fussy, we strap him in and they start pushing through the house and he is just as content as he can be. Sasha (one of our SWAT kids from our old youth group) is our babysitter again this summer. This is her third summer with us and we love her like family. She is so good with Jed. She comes over 3 days a week and is really wonderful with him.

She and I took Jed out for a little photo shoot a couple of weeks ago..... I love the picture of Jed with the beagle puppy...like father, like son!

Ear Monitor

If you have kids at home, you have got to get one of these!

I caught the end of the Today show a few mornings ago and they were reviewing new products for kids. This one was highly recommended so I went online and checked it out. I decided for only $13 I would give it a try and I'm so glad I did! It really works!!! We tried it on both girls and it showed -0- fluid and then I tried it on Jed and one ear was fine and the other ear showed a small amount of fluid. This is the same ear he has been pulling on. Josh took him to the dr and he is on antibiotics now and according to the monitor, the ear is clearing up. I wish I would have had this when the girls were toddlers. I could have saved a fortune in doctor visits..taking them every time they had a runny nose for fear they had an ear infection.

You can get it now with free shipping.
