Jed's 11 month update

This past month Jed has learned so much! He seems to be learning something new everyday! He is now walking everywhere! We can't turn our backs on him for a second!!! His favorite toy is the remote control. He finds it and points to the tv. He knows it works with the tv but he can't quite figure it out. A couple of weeks ago, he cut his first tooth! He has also started dropping his bottom lip...we think this is so funny! He is tired of baby food now so he mainly eats what we are eating. For breakfast he usually has whole grain toast and a banana. He also loves pancakes without the butter and syrup. For lunch he likes mini sandwiches or grilled cheese with fruit dices. His favorite thing for supper is green beans and carrots! We are still learning what foods are safe with his peanut allergy but it is getting easier to deal with. He loves our weenie dog Oscar! When he is fussy, we can usually put a smile on his face by taking him outside to see Oscar. He also love our little goats. He will stretch his arm through the fence as far as he can to touch them. I think we are raising a little farming boy! He still says Dadda most of the time with Momma thrown in every once in a while.

We are busy planning his first birhtday party. I can't believe how fast this year has gone by.

Congratulations Lexi!!!

Lexi did such a great job in Jessieville's homecoming this year. She didn't act a bit nervous! Her dress was beautiful and her toothless smile is adorable! Jed enjoyed watching everything from the stands.

Happy Birthday Montana!

We recently celebrated Montana Cook's first birthday. For those of you who don't know Montana, she is the daughter of our very good friends Matt and Carrie Jo Cook. Montana was born at 23 weeks....17 weeks early! She had several problems and the doctors gave Matt and Carrie Jo a long list of medical issues. God touched this child in a mighty way and she is as healthy as any one year old I know! We had a great time celebrating her birthday. The kids loved roasting marshmallows and hot dogs and the hay ride. It was too cold for Montana and Jed to go on the hay ride but you can see them in the back seat watching everything that was going on. Please pray for Montana that the Lord will keep her healthy.

Pumpkins on the porch

The girls each decorated their own pumpkin this year. Reagon chose to decorate her pumpkin as a baseball player.....notice the big gum bubble!
Kendall decided she wanted to do a pirate pumpkin. I think they both turned out cute.
Kendall's 1st grade class went on a fieldtrip to the pumpkin patch last week and Kendall brought home a little pumpkin for Jed. I decided to dress him up in one of the girls' old pumpkin costumes and take a snapshot. The other shot is from this morning....he looked so cute in his little outfit I had to take another shot with him pulling the wagon. I would have tried to do a real photo shoot with him but it was way too cold to keep him outside.

Happiness in a box

Have you ever wanted to hug your UPS guy?

I couldn't wait to tear into my Yankee candle order. The new fall scents are wonderful! I am in love with the coconut cookie bar candle. I have burned it every day since it came in the mail.....that may be the reason I'm eating more and more! The scent just makes me want to eat cookies!

I bought the plug-in scent for my bathroom.....cherry lemonade.....and it smells so good.
The sweet honeysuckle plug-in was intended for Reagon's room but it smelled nothing like I imagined. Reagon said it smelled too much like an "old lady house" and I have to agree with her. She ended up with the vanilla caramel plug in and it smells good but I would rather have it in the kitchen. Next time I'm going to get the cherry lemonade for her room. The sweet honeysuckle is now in the laundry room....I won't be ordering this one again.

The tarts may be my favorite. They are so simple to use and perfect for my office. I ordered several different ones, although you can tell by looking at the colors that I like similar scents. I love the brown ones the best....autumn wreath, cookie bar, vanilla cupcake, cider donut, & fall festival.
I ordered a couple gift sets of the ladies I work with. They are always asking me when the next candle order is coming in! This is a good way to keep them happy at work!
I'm already making my Christmas wishist order! Christmas Cookie, Sparkling Cinnamon, Gingerbread, Red apple wreath.....this list may be long!!! LOL
I also attached a picture of my new Thanksgiving platter. It's almost too pretty to use. It came with a matching pie plate that I do intend to use for my Sunday pies this year.....recipe coming soon!
Hope everyone is having a great day and enjoying this cooler weather!

Kiss the Cook

My girls both love to cook so I'm always on the lookout for simple recipes for them. I love my Family Fun magazine subscription. That is where I find most of the recipes they try out. Reagon had way too much homework to help out this time so Kendall took on the project all by herself. I helped brown the HB meat and sausage but she did everything else. We topped the pizza wheels with grated parmesan cheese as soon as they came out of the oven and they were delicious!

Nashville, TN

As most of you already know, Josh has signed with a record company to produce a christian album. He was given the chance of a lifetime last week. He left for Nashville, TN with the president of the label to record 3 of his songs at the world famous TRACKING ROOM. They worked on 3 of his songs and will release BEYOND THE CLOUDS first. We are very excited and pray that God will use this music to spread His gospel to many people. Please pray for us as we embark on this new adventure. Pray that God will have His hand in every decision and that we as a family will follow His lead.

Playing with friends

I'm behind in getting this posted. A couple weeks ago the girls were invited to Megan's 11th birthday party. Jed had fun playing with Cayla...Sabrina's neice from California. They are less than two hours apart in age....both born on Nov 27th! As you can tell from the pictures, Jed is never put down when we are around Reagon's friends. They fight over who is going to hold him next.
