Jed's 22 month update

This past month Jed has really started acting more and more like a toddler than a baby...makes me very sad! I told Josh a couple of nights ago that I would love to freeze him in time right now. He is such a funny little boy and he keeps our whole family laughing at all the silly new things he is learning.

Some cute new things:
He loves to try and get the girls "in trouble". He will say "Daddy!!! YayYay (Reagon) oooohhmm!!! No No!!! Josh will say "I'm going to spank you girls!" and Jed just laughs and laughs.

His new favorite show is Handy Manny and I swear, he would watch this 10 hours a day if we let him. As soon as his eyes open in the morning he will call for me "Mommy...tum here" and when I get in the room he will say "Watch Manny!" He watches the cartoon while eating breakfast every morning and every night before bedtime.

He loves to sing (imagine that) and will sing "He's a big God" over and over and over. I think he may be a songwriter like his daddy. The other day he was singing away something about YayYay and chewing gum! LOL

Here are some cute pics from the last four weeks

Playing dress up...this child loves cowboy boots! LOL

Still his favorite activity...feeding the dogs with Daddy
Enjoying the Pike County Parade

After his second haircut....I can only stand to cut his hair once a year! LOL
His favorite food...corn on the cob!

This sweet little boy has brought so much joy to our lives. He is absolutely the center of attention around here...especially with his sisters. They are so in love with him! I swear, his wife will be upset with the girls and me for spoiling him so much! LOL

OCD therapy

Remember what my house looked like a week or so ago. Well, take a look now. It's worse. Much worse. There are literally boxes and boxes EVERYWHERE! And not just boxes...there are clothes everywhere because I have emptied the dressers to be moved, there are toys, dishes (clean dishes), you name it and it's out of place. Now want to hear the crazy part......I'm learning to live with it. Ok, so I dont particularly *like* it but it is not as bad as I thought. I admit, I do have my occasional break down where you can find me running around the house screaming "I CAN'T LIVE LIKE THIS ANYMORE" but for the most part, I am rather proud of myself. I think this moving/packing experience has been some sort of therapy for me. You know, like when someone is scared of spiders and they are made to look at a spider, then touch a spider and eventually hold a spider to overcome their fear. Same here. I am looking at this mess and living in this mess and actually not sweating and freaking out over it!! I may be healed!! LOL

Who needs a dining room table...this box works just fine!

This looks like an episode from "clean house"

There is a kitchen in this pictures somewhere!
Look closely at this picture...on the left.....in the middle. The little red/green checked outfit hanging off the kitchen island....... That's how I'm dealing with this mess.....it's called Retail Therapy. Works like a charm!
Excuse me...I'm off to check on my size 8 toddler saddle oxfords. I hate to be outbid!!!

Mad as a hornet (or bumblebee)

I had several costumes to list on ebay this week and a couple of them were missing tags so I wasn't sure what size to list. I decided to try them on Jed so I could get a better guess at the size...knowing he is a 2T so if they fit I would go with that size, if they were too big I'd go with 3T...you get the picture. So, costume #1 was this cute bee outfit. You think he is crying because he is wearing this, right? WRONG! He is crying because I was trying to unzip it and take it off. I'm ashamed to say how long he wore this before I finally got it off of him...it was long enough that he was red faced and sweating! LOL

Don't you think it looks nice with his favorite pair of cowboy boots? LOL
Playing outside in the 80 degree heat....you can tell by the look on his face he is still mad at me for wanting to take it off of him! LOL

Prayers Needed...

Please pray for baby Drew. His parents are friends with my friend Chad Gardner and I just found his blog today. I am asking all readers of my blog to pray for him and please add him to your church/bible study/personal prayer list.

Move over Betty Crocker!

Her first blue ribbon in baking!! I'm not sure how many jr bakers were entered this year but there were several. We looked through tons of plates full of cookies and cakes and COULD NOT find her entry. Josh was convinced someone stole it (you know because 3 day old cake is very yummy!) and I was about to get really upset. We then noticed that all the ribbons were white (3rd place), red (2nd place) and green (sorry, your baking is awful but we are giving you a ribbon anyway place). Josh looked around and found the "winners shelf" and there sat this cute little pink plate with her apple cake and a blue ribbon. Yes, I almost cried. Really. I did tear up a bit. Next year, we are going for Grand Champion!!! LOL

It's Pike County Fair time again!

I love the county fair!

As always, the girls (and I) love to enter something in the county fair each year. This year we entered several photography shots and Kendall's apple cake. Tonight after cheerleading practice we are going to tour the exhibits, let the kids ride all the rides (armband night) and eat funnel cakes and carmel apples! Here are some shots of Kendall making her cake..she did EVERYTHING herself including pealing the apples (scared me to death a couple times) and measuring the ingredients.

Pssttt.....

Just a quick note...noticed on my calendar today that the countdown has begun...it is officially 100 days till Christmas!!! YEAH!!!!

Kendall's first school scrape

Not sure exactly what happened since we received conflicting reports from Kendall, but it appears that she may have in fact participated in her first school fuss. With a boy. lol We think he pushed her down, she pushed him down, and then he really pushed her down. In any case, she was rather proud of her scrape! This child is so much fun to raise!

I need someone to think up clever titles for me!

If your wondering why the blog has been a little slow lately, take a look at my living room. For someone who craves order, this is just about to send me over the edge! LOL Actually, it's not that bad. We are waiting on a closing date for the sale of our farm, so in the meantime I am trying to box things up while still maintaining some sort of normalcy around here.

On a bright note: FALL is in the air!!! My absolute favorite time of year! I can't wait to pack up my shorts and flipflops for jeans and sweaters and boots (after I shed these stubborn last 10 pounds so I can fit in my jeans!), hay rides, pumpkin decorating, fall colors, cool nights, windows open in my house, no ac, football games, deer season, Thanksgiving.......and of course not too far in the future...CHRISTMAS!!!! I have tried really hard to refrain myself from the Christmas postings but I may have to do one soon! I am a Christmas nut and I admit it. Thankfully, neither of my sisters laughed at me last week when I called to discuss Christmas plans for this year. Ok, back to Fall...as I have posted every year on my blog, I love to decorate for the fall. I love the deep orange and brown colors and all the wonderful decorations you find this time of year. I could literally spend hours in Michaels or Hobby Lobby...ok, I *have* done that but only Tanya and I know exactly how many hours and we aren't saying! LOL One reason I would like to get this farm sold and the show on the road is so we can get moved in time for me to bring out all my fall stuff! I know I'm 'country' but I just love setting up hay bales in my yard with pumpkins and mums and scarecrows. I love putting together a beautiful fall wreath for my front door and a basketful of colorful gourds on my table. Would any of you laugh if we sell this farm and I fully decorate a pop-up camper? LOL JK! I think today on my lunch hour I will enjoy some quiet time wrapped up in a quilt on my front porch swing with my new Yankee Fall catalog. I might even trade my diet Mt Dew for some hot chocolate!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Baby deer not for sale

You never know what you will find at a yard sale!

I stopped at a yard sale last weekend and while I was busy looking through everything (they had tons of stuff but spent only 25 cents on a movie for Jed) the kids stayed very entertained. The old man that lived there got a kick out of watching Jed play with this deer. He would cut off a piece of apple with his pocket knife and give it to the kids to feed this baby deer. Kendall must have asked him 100 times if this deer was for sale! LOL

The Bucket List

When we finally made it home yesterday after church, Josh and I basically collapsed from exhaustion. We changed into our pjs, crawled under the quilts in our king size bed and surfed the pay-per-view channels looking for a movie. We decided on "The Bucket List". The girls were busy playing in their rooms and Jed played toys in our floor while we watched the movie. I can't recommend this movie enough. If you only watch one movie a year (seriously, does anyone only watch one movie a year?) then make it this one! You will not be disappointed.

This movie inspired me to write my own bucket list...you know, I am quite young so my bucket list was HUGE..I literally wrote over 200 things! Here are just a few from my list......

plant a huge garden
finish my bachelor degree
go to Hawaii with my husband
take a family vacation to Disney World
finish 3 scrapbooks each for my children
take my kids to canoe the river
go on a missionary trip
retire from Harper Pkg in 25 years
learn how to play the piano again
watch my children graduate from college
build our dream log home
hear Josh's songs on Klove
watch The Josh Harper band open for Third Day
watch Third day open for The Josh Harper Band
go to a Joyce Meyer and Beth Moore conference
witness the baptism of my three children
learn to speak fluent spanish
watch my husband dance with our daughters at their wedding
see my son grow to be an amazing man of God just like his father

What's on your bucket list?

Blog Break

Taking a small blog break..............................
