Surprise Announcement

Obvious enough? :) We are so excited to be having a Boy! Today was my 14 week ultrasound. I wasn't expecting them to tell us the gender. I thought we would have to wait until November. So I was very excited and happy!
I was cautious though. I asked if it could possibly be the umbilical chord or something else. Both the tech and doctor said there was no question about it.
I'm so excited to shop for more clothes. :) I went to the consignment store today and picked up some awesome deals. The flip flops and shorts were $1.06 total. The other items were .64 each.
Justin was happy to see the basketball shorts. He said, "Good. He needs bball shorts just like dad." When he's not in work clothes, Justin wears bball shorts 98% of the time.
Due date: March 25 - although he measured big today, so that would put us at March 20 ... hopefully earlier :)
I haven't been feeling as well as I did with Ava, but it hasn't been absolutely horrible either.

Catching up - Camping

I've been a little behind in my blogging. So in an effort to catch up, I'll try
and post 2 or 3 posts in the next few days.

Before heading back to VA, we went camping with Justin's family over Labor Day weekend. Besides a few people getting the stomach flu (including Ava and myself) we had a good weekend. :)
Justin had a great time fishing with his brother Nate.

Ava loved the dirt as you can see. The mark on her forehead is from her "drinking" out of a cup with dirt in it. This is how she looked most days, regardless of how many times we tried to clean her up.

She also loved playing with her cousin Ethan.

Ethan had fun scooping up dirt and pouring it into Ava's cup. Unfortunately most of the time, more dirt ended up on Ava than in the cup. :)

"I Love Camping!"

Note: While creating this post, Ava was sitting on my lap playing with things in the desk drawer. At one point, I felt her rubbing something on my chin. I looked down to find her coloring on my face with pink marker! I guess that's what I get for not paying much attention to her, even though she is sitting on my lap.

Farewell Colorado

Our last two stops before we left Denver.

Dinosaur Ridge

This spot is 100 million years old! Do you see the dinosaur tracks? I'm pretty sure this was the pink dinosaur's footprints. :)

We also went to Mt. Evans. At 14,264 feet, it is one of the highest peaks in the Rockies, and it is the highest paved road in North America.

It was quite amazing to almost be at eye level with the clouds!

This is the crazy road to the top. On one side, the tallest mountain, on the other, the largest cliff!

We are on our way back to VA. Right now I am in Boulder City, NV visiting my family one last time before we head east. More posts to come!
