Cole's 2 Year Photoshoot

I have decided that for birthdays, I am going to take pictures of just the "birthday kid." First up is Cole. He turned 2 on July 23. I can't believe how much he has grown!

Playing Photographer

It still amazes me when people ask me to take their family pictures...but I love doing it! Here are a few from some recent shoots:

First up...The Benson Family. I teach with Karen...and think she is amazing...so when she asked if I would take some new family pictures for her sweet family...I was honored! And wouldn't you know...that her whole family...is just as amazing as she is. Aren't they precious!

Next...The George Family...It was time for some 7 month pictures! Isn't he cute!

And I got to practice my candid photography at the Reigle's second adoption ceremony. I am so happy that this sweet family is finally complete! They are one of those families you just know were hand-picked just for each other. It was such a special day!

I certainly do not profess to be anywhere near a professional...but I do love my little hobby! I learn so much with every shoot I do...and I feel like I'm growing. I am so thankful for all the opportunities these families have given me to practice!

Fourth of July

We celebrated the 4th of July this year at home with family. It was low key...and perfect! Dad grilled hamburgers and everyone else brought everything else. All I had to do was clean house and get a few odds and ends. We ate...visited...and the kiddos played in the sprinklers. After everyone left...we watched the fireworks at the lake from the girls' bedroom window! Now that's low key...HA!

June Happenings

Well...June has come and gone. Summer always goes by SO fast! My summer this year started out with this family:
Amanda is one of my good friends at school. I was beyond honored when she asked me to be a part of the adoption of their youngest angel...as their photographer! The judge who officiated the adoption even let me stand behind her bench to take some of the pictures...so cool! And I was again honored when she asked me to accompany them in July for the adoption of the oldest two kiddos! It has been a long road putting this family together...and I am so very thankful that everything will be official for them in just a couple of weeks! They are evidence of God's grace...such an amazing thing to witness!

Up next was Vacation Bible School at our church...Big Apple Adventure! This year I taught the kindergarten class...and we had tons of fun...they were an amazing group of kiddos! The girls had a blast, as usual...I have such a deep love for our church. It has made a huge impact on the way we are raising our children...God is so good...and I am so thankful every day that he led us to The Oaks...such a blessing!
This is Riley with one of her best buds from church:

And we were so happy that Carly could join us this summer! She is one of Kerry's best friends from school and her mom is one of my good friends. They were super excited to spend the week together...and can I just say...that listening to the "call Justin Bieber" is hilarious! They are so stinkin' cute!

Finally...vacation time! Aaron and I were a little selfish this year. We took a trip...alone...to Vegas! Neither of us had ever been...so it was quite the eye-opener! We saw The Lion King, gambled...very little...saw the fountain show...amazing...ate...yummy...saw the sights...so cool...and shopped at Ross! HA! Cuz' that's how we roll! Aaron handed me some cash to gamble with and when I would only stick a five in the slot machine...he said, "You're not going to gamble with that, are you." To which I replied, "Heck no! There's a Ross down the street!" HA!

We got back home on Tuesday and left for San Antonio on Wednesday with my family! My mom and dad, Joanne and her crew, and the Scott's, hit the road. My brother and his wife are expecting a baby, very soon, so we assumed they would be happier at home this summer, and my oldest sister, who is the mom to my amazing niece, and her crew were unable to go because my niece had cheer camp. Other than them not being with us, it was the perfect vacation! We stayed at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort...and it was amazing!

The kiddos got to ride ponies...which Cole was unsure about...but he loved the dog that ran around with the horses!

We used one of the mornings to try and get some family pictures. The grounds were beautiful...and I think we got some pretty good shots!

First my mom and dad. There just are no words for how I feel about these two. They are why my life is completely amazing. I love them more than I know how to express. I am beyond blessed to be their daughter.

Then...me and Aaron...another reason my life is completely amazing! Pretty much everything he does, he does to make his family happy. He is an amazing husband.

Next up...the Lugeanbeal's! Again...why my life is amazing! I am so very blessed...again...to call my sister my best friend! And seriously...are they not the cutest!

There was even a good shot of the Scott's! Trust me when I say...this rarely happens. I am the most unphotogenic person I know...so I get super fired up when I don't look completely crazy in a picture...HA! And ALL 3 KIDS are looking at the camera...bonus!

And my favorite...no explanation necessary...

The resort had all kinds of activities for the kids to do all day and evening. One of the evenings there was an animal show...so cool...

The girls spent one of the days at a camp...and got their hair braided by the pool...

There was a huge fire pit by the pool...so we got to make smores every night...

And the pool was SO cool! There was a lazy river that went around the pools...that was completely shaded by beautiful trees...and one of the pools had a little beach...

We have had an amazing summer so far! I am one happy daughter...sister...wife...and momma!
