Hats off to Mothers!

I just have to take minute and tell all you mothers out there just how great I think you are! Almost five weeks into this whole motherhood thing and you would think I would be getting the hang of it. Everyday I am just amazed at the hard work it takes to be a mom, and this is not counting the extra stuff like reading to the little guy, play time, cuddling and rocking him to sleep. I am just talking about the feedings and diaper changing, and the attempt to keep Lukas semi clean and not smelling like puke!! I am not sure how people have more than one kid, but to those of you that have attempted the mother thing more than once, I am bewildered, amazed and I admire you even more. Who knew that being a mother included constant worry about if you are feeding him enough, if you put the diaper on tight enough or too tight, if he is throwing up a normal amount or too much, wondering what this cry means and what the other cry means, that a shower would become a luxury not part of your daily routine, that a clean shirt on you or your child does not stay that way longer than a few minutes, that sleep comes more as two hour naps, wondering if you really understood what you signed up for when you got pregnant... but at the end of the day I would rather have this job than any I have had so far! Although 8 hours of sleep all at one time sounds divine!

First Photo Shoot

Sometimes I think Lukas wishes his dad was home with him during the day because I tortue him all day long with the camera...

Little Cowboy

I couldn't resist trying this outfit on Lukas to see if it fit yet, and then of course I had to take pictures. What a cute little cowboy.

Here are some picts of his first week at home.

Lukas Trey

Introducing Lukas Trey
Born: January 26, 2008
Time: 8:50 am
Weight: 7 lbs 3 oz.
Length: 19.5

Well after 36 hours of labor... yes 36! Our little guy is here. The whole labor and delivery part was so much worse than I ever imagined! That pushing thing was so enjoyable, after two hours of pushing I was not sure I could keep going. But somehow we survived the whole ordeal.
