life lesson
Monday we had to deal with the issue of death . . . I was torn on telling Colin or not . . . then how to tell him. Remember the fish he received as a result of being good on our vacation last summer? Well, it died. It was acting weird the last few days so I knew something was wrong. When he got off the bus I told him fish was having a difficult day. He ran to check on him and realized he was dead. He wanted to bury him so we dug a hole in the back yard and that was that. I noticed he was teary eyed as we walked back inside . . . he was sad. Of course he asked if he was in heaven and I agreed . . . he seemed to forget after a little while which was nice but he then asked when he could get another fish . . . hmmmm, never if it is up to me! I was sad he had to deal with the fish dying but honestly it was one less thing on my daily to do list. I hope Fisher (what an original name) is at peace.
