Fort Worth Cattle Dive

I took Morgan and Zach to the cattle drive in downtown Fort Worth. It was Zachary's first time to see it and he really liked it. Its short and very uneventful as they just march the longhorns and steers down the road back to their stables, but its still amazing to see just how cool these animals look up close. Their horns are just so unique. It draws a pretty big crowd most days too.

We played around and stopped to take pictures in cool spots and enjoyed BBQ for lunch with our favorite Nana.

Whoa!

She sure does spoil us with all her love!!

Spring Break 2019

We stayed pretty active during Spring Break this year. We had a great trip to the zoo and being able to see all the new attractions. One of which was being able to get up close (and feed, which we didn't do this time) with the giraffes, a new view of the hippos, and close encounters with birds. It was so much fun and the weather was still really cool but with sunshine, so that was really nice. Zach was obsessed with the rhinos and gorillas. We packed a lunch and spent nearly 4 hours enjoying the animals.

Our second outing was to see Dallas Blooms at the Arboretum with Nana and Papa. That was a bit colder, but still lots of fun. We walked so much and saw so much, it was really great! All the flowers were so beautiful and the sunshine was a much needed touch. Nana and Papa had never been to the kids garden, so we were able to explore and get lost throughout all the activities and things to see in there. Its where we spent most of our time!

Baby Bash

The newest cousin, Sebastian Hein, was showered with love along with Aunt Gabby and Uncle Jonathon. Nick an Cassie hosted a baby shower for them in the beginning of March and it was super cute! The food and decorations were amazing and it was so sweet being a part of it all. Brooklyn made "Bash" a special blanket all by herself. The girls just can't wait to meet their new cousin!

The Cowtown and a Calf

Our annual Cowtown Half Marathon had a few more participants this year! Papa, Brooklyn and Cayleigh ran in the Kids Calf 5K the day before Aaron and I ran. They did awesome! I am so proud of these girls and their determination. It was also awesome that my dad, Papa, ran with them too! This was his very first 5K and they all finished just under 38 minutes!

Way to go Papa, Brooklyn and Cayleigh!!
Aaron and I had another good run the following morning. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and we had one of our better times finishing, 2:05! It is such a privilege to do this run with my best friend each year. We have such a great time chatting, encouraging and pushing one another.

This view never gives this horrendously tough and long hill to the courthouse any justice. Ugh!
Another year completed in the books.

Fence Repairs at The Ranch

Several cows from the property right next to the ranch had broken through the fence and started getting comfortable on the Hein land, so some fence repairs were needed back in February. The 6 of us and Gamma and Gampa went out to get some work completed. I'm always amazed at just how beautiful and peaceful it is out there. Lots of work is always had, but so is lots of fun!

We cut down tons of mesquite tree limbs, repaired a large portion of the fence, went fishing, exploring, and soaked up time together.
