We Have a Breakthrough!
The little chunk has her first tooth! The bottom left front tooth finally broke through the gums. Oh, the teething, drooling mess has begun....yea!! (Can't you just hear the excitement in that 'yea'?!?)

More Storage...Yes, Please!
We love our house, but storage is limited and I swear builders skimp on maximizing every inch available for shelving.....so, Aaron and I map it out ourselves and redo/add more!!
Our laundry room before only had one shelf that went across the top of the washer and dryer area.
We added several more, a shelf extending the entire perimeter of the area way up high, one with a hanging rod attached for drying and hanging clothes, and baskets to the left of the door to hold detergent and so forth. Yes, please! Thank you Daddy (he definitely did most of this solo)!

Food Trucks...YUM!
We headed downtown for lunch on Saturday to try out the Fort Worth CowTown Chow Down Food Park. They feature various food trucks depending on the day with music, a small stage and picnic tables all around. It was pretty hot, so we were fortunate enough to arrive at a time when it wasn't very crowded and be able to sit in the shade. Daddy and I tried a little from 3 different trucks, ending with a made-to-order cupcake for Brooklyn. A few different sandwiches loaded with unique combinations of meats and vegetables, sliders, and a list of different kinds of tacos! We overindulged for sure, but it was nice to try something new.

Fort Worth Museum
About a month ago, after doing some research on various memberships and going as a family, we decided it was worth a yearly membership to the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. Brooklyn had a blast last time we went (forgot my camera then), so the girls and Mommy went again today. This time, we saw Big Bird and Elmo's show in the planetarium in addition to seeing all the exhibits! B loved it and really enjoyed seeing the characters talk about the stars, sun and moon. What a blast!
I packed a lunch for us and we spent about 3 hours there....nice exhausting indoor activity! There are so many things for her to do and her curiosity right now is so much fun! Cayleigh girl was an angel, which made the trip for me a whole lot easier. I'm sure this will become a bi-weekly, maybe weekly trip, during these next few summer months.

WANTED!
Beware! Cayleigh girl can not be trusted! If you or anyone you know, sees this face, watch out!
This girl is armed and dangerous with some crazy rollover skills and will definitely sneak into her sissy's books and toys!

A Questioning Toddler
So, I have wondered how come Brooklyn hadn't picked up the infamous "Why?" questioning habit. She just doesn't really ask it and I remember other children doing it all the time during the ages of 2-3. Today, I realized how ignorant I have been for a while! Ha!
Brooklyn has a very sophisticated way of asking "Why?" She uses complete sentences to question you further! She just never uses the actual word!
Brooklyn: "What are you doing with the sheets, Mommy?"
Me: "Mommy washed the sheets, so I'm putting them back on the bed."
B: "What did you wash the sheets for, Mommy?"
Me: "Because they were dirty."
B: "What were they dirty from?"
Me: "They were dirty from Mommy sleeping on them."
B: "Oh. So, you are putting the sheets back on the bed?"
Me: "Yes, Brooklyn."
B: "Okay, Mommy."
Oh boy....how could I have been so blind?!? Now we need to work on her grammatical errors, I guess.

3 Sick Girls
Well, it didn't take long to become overwhelmed at home! I started feeling under the weather over this past weekend (of course, just as school is finally over) and now 2 little ones to follow. All 3 girls in the house are snotty nose sickly and crummy feeling. Yuck! We have spent majority of our time indoors this week and I am hopeful that tonight's sleep is better than last nights. Vicious cycle from no sleep to energy less all day. And Daddy had to leave last night to be out of town until Sunday evening.
Come on better health, please come quickly for the Hein girls!

Happy 29, Daddy!
My handsome husband turned 29 yesterday!
I love this man!!
Hearing Brooklyn tell him over and over again "Happy Birthday, Daddy" and listening to her sing it to him was the sweetest thing! He will be forever a superstar to his girls!
5 Years Strong
Aaron and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary on June 2nd! Going on over 11 years together as a couple....Wow! Just in these past 5 years, we have made it through wedding planning (and y'all all know that is an accomplishment in itself!), bought our first home and completely remodeled it, had our first child, changed jobs, lived with my parents during the building of our second 'new' home, had our second child, and lived distantly for the past 12 weeks.
Our willingness to tackle turns in our life path makes us unstoppable! 5 years of marriage doesn't seem very long when your having fun with your best friend. God truly made us for one another and we are thankful for that everyday.
Bring it on 50+ more years....this pathway is never too bumpy!

Promotion
Today marked my 'official' last day of school.....at least for a few years. I have worked in the same classroom with the same first grade team (minus one) for 6 years!! Oh my! I can still recall interviewing with them; so young and nervous. It is amazing how quickly time flies when things are busy. I went from Erin de Wolfe to Hein to mother of one to mother of two with my fabulous family at Moore Elementary. I have had the opportunity to work with some of the most outstanding teachers in my district. While the end of school is always bittersweet, this year it is also concluding a chapter in my life. Same book, just a new chapter is beginning for me and I am overjoyed. I say "same book" because my role as an educator just decreased in the number of customers and increased in the amount of impact. Being a full time mother will be my biggest challenge yet as a role model/teacher/caregiver. But I am ready with open arms for this privilege!! The opportunity for me to stay at home with my sweet girls and tend to all of our family's needs is a blessing from God. Aaron is beyond thrilled, as am I.
So, I have been promoted to CEO of the Aaron Hein Family Household!! Everything in my world is about to spin around in a perfect circle for me....I will have say and control over what my girls eat, do and see, I will be able to clean the house on a daily basis (for those of you who know me best, know this is no joke, I must clean), I will be able to have balanced meals and especially dinner prepared for my working husband, I can workout on a daily basis to keep my figure and sanity (hehe!), and I can do all of these fabulous things and others without the stress of getting them completed AFTER coming home from work.
My job is about to get a whole lot harder, just from the comfort of my beautiful home. Payments made in kisses, hugs and time well spent!! Thank you Aaron Jacob Hein for supporting me and our family!
