Oh... There's the Computer!!

I guess I had forgotten about the computer for a few weeks.... I have just been enjoying the time with the kids and Chris. We had a wonderful Christmas and we are so blessed to have been together this year to enjoy it!
I think I'll recap some of our fun times for you...
We went over to our friend's home on Christmas Eve. It was wonderful. We ate delicious Mexican food and I made a Chocolate Eclair cake for dessert. We exchanged white elephant gifts (which the kids LOVED!) and had so much fun playing and talking together. It was great to be with friends on Christmas Eve... since we couldn't be with any of our family this year!!! Maybe next year!

Jillian and her friend... laughing it up!

The Hannah Montana barbie was a hot item!

Jilli again... :)

Waiting to open the gifts... torture!!

"Girls and Boys"- According to Jilli

I was driving to the YMCA this morning with Jillian. We had just dropped Chris off at work and she was telling me that "we should be two boys because then we could go to work. Boys go to work and girls stay home." I said, "what do girls do at home?" She said, "Girls stay at home. Little girls watch TV and big girls.....mmmmm.... clean the house!" So, according to Jilli, I am right on track for being a big Girl! She cracks me up!

I did an awesome Spinning class today and WOW did it feel good to SWEAT!! I am so glad Chris bought me the membership! It's great because they have a couple of locations and all of them have a daycare program so I can leave Jilli there for 2 hours and get busy moving my body! Yay! I love to work out!

Sleeping Beauty and The Scout

Jillian climbed into bed beside her dad this afternoon and fell asleep under her snowman blankie. Chris worked all through the night last night getting the soldiers off for their Christmas travels. He got home around lunch time today, barely standing. He ate, showered and fell into his bed. Lucky him, he got to sleep next to a princess!

Here is Jilli at the Scout Christmas party eating a brownie. She dusted off a plate of jello and rice before downing two cookies and this brownie! MMMMM!

Here is Jeremiah the scout. He is also enjoying a brownie - his favorite! He then joined in on the rousing game of Twister they were playing.

This boy has some skills!! One armed green hand placement... pretty sweet! Hee hee!
Below are the pictures of Chris and the girls making the cute Marshmallow snowmen craft! (He really is a crafter at heart!) Jillian just wanted the marshmallows and chocolate kiss! Jessica worked hard on hers and it's sitting on the counter waiting for her to eat it! Perhaps in the morning... an early sugar rush!

O Christmas Time!

Well, I'm not doing very good at keeping up with blogging lately! I have been trying to get everything ready for the holidays and that means that I have to neglect other things... like blogging! At Walmart the other day, Chris spotted these soft shirts for Jessi and Jilli, so we bought them. The picture doesn't do them justice... I wish you could feel how amazingly soft they are! They looked so cute in their little matching shirts! Awwwwww!! Tender!
We went to a really fun Ward Christmas Party on Saturday night. It had a Zarahemla/Bethlehem theme and we were encouraged to dress up. I had fun dressing the kids up in what I imagine they wore back then. They looked adorable (you can see how cute below). They served pita bread, beans and rice, chicken, cheese and chocolate pudding...mmmmmm! Chris kept going back for the black beans and rice. It was all delicious. Jessica sang with a group of young women and they sounded so angelic together. It was a really awesome party and I loved that there wasn't a Santa Claus!! It's so hard to remind your children that there is deeper meaning to this fun holiday season. I loved that they made it easy that night.
We went to the Bastian's home on Sunday evening for dinner and a round of "Settlers". Yep, I took a picture to prove that even Chris joined us!!! We played just the basic game and he caught on quickly. He had a lot of fun even though he may tell you different! It was a really close game but I actually won! (My first win ever!!) We had a lot of fun and can't wait to play again soon!
Well, It's time to go get the small ones going on their homework. I can't wait till Christmas Break!! We're all done with school and the excessive homework, projects, notes.... etc. Blah! This school is truly ridiculous in so many ways. No worries!
Enjoy the pics!

Caught By a Holiday Bug!

I have to apologize for slacking off this week in my daily posting! I had a busy week to start out and then on Tuesday, around suppertime, I got hit by a lovely holiday Bug. I was completely wasted. I had to go crawl into bed and I didn't want to get out for a few days. Nasty! I was supposed to teach a stamp class on Tuesday night and I had to moan out to Chris to please call everyone and cancel. It was horrid. I don't know when I'll reschedule because it's hitting crunch time!

Chris was also hit this week and put on "Quarters" for 48 hours because of possible Strep/ bronchitis. He's feeling a little better today after being on antibiotics. Jillian got sick this week with a crappy cold. She is just miserable. I took her in to the doc on Wednesday and we both got swabbed for Strep but were negative. (Yay) She has a horrid cough and I just wish it would go away faster! Man! I guess it's good we're getting it all out of our systems before Christmas!

Thursday night was Enrichment night and it was a VERY fun Christmas PJ Party! We ate pizza and snacks, chatted away, and were treated to a nice Christmas story and serenade to end the night. Afterwards, we went to visit a Sister who's been in the hospital for quite some time. It was a crazy, rainy trip and we had a lot of laughs and loads of fun. I wasn't to hip on the idea of staying out late after feeling not so great for two days... but I was glad I went!

Today I spent the entire day cleaning house and working on all my projects that I've been behind on. I think I finally have the shopping part done! Now to just get it all finished and into boxes to mail to all our dear ones back home! I'm hopeful that that will happen by Monday. I also put a crock pot full of White Bean Chicken Chile (Chris' favorite!) on to cook all day for the Choir Party we went to. (I'll have to include the recipe at a later date!) It was a fun dinner followed by singing practice for our performance on Sunday. I love the songs we're singing and it was a fun time! I hope the Pyne home survived us all!!

Jessica has a Science Project due on Monday and we've got to finish that up this weekend... grrrr. That will be my fun project tomorrow. Chris has to work. How lucky he is... tee hee. I hate school projects. (And I never push them over the top... just the basics for us! We do what's expected and NO MORE!! HA HA!) We also have the Ward Christmas Party tomorrow night! Should be loads of fun! Yay! I hope to have pictures to post tomorrow! Check back!

A Christmas Parade!

Today I was awakened at 4 am by the ringing of my telephone. I didn't think to get up and answer it... I was still in that dark place where awareness and reality haven't quite met. Chris got up and grabbed the phone and I heard, "Hello Sgt Harrison, this is Sgt B___". Great. Yeah. Chris had to get into his PT uniform and head in to work at 4:30 am on a Saturday morning. Lovely. I went back to sleep. At 8:30am I was awakened again by the ringing of a phone - my cell phone telling me it was time to get up! We had a primary activity to be to at 10 am! Lovely. I can't tell you how much I wanted to just ignore the alarm and skip the activity... but I didn't.
We went out to our church and had a fun time playing Pin the Bell on the Reindeer, Musical chairs to Christmas music and listened to some cute Christmas stories while eating Krispy Kreme donuts... mmmmmm. Afterwards, we were told that there was a Christmas parade starting at noon! We hurried to find our spot on the parade route and were very glad we did! It was a great parade with LOTS of candy tossing! We saw friends from the ward and had a very good time. I think we'll have to make it a tradition.
Chris had stayed home through all of this to catch up on his sleep so we went back home to grab him before heading out to run our errands for the day. We found a blow-up snowman at Walmart for $25 bucks and we just had to get him!! He's huge and fat and the cutest thing I've seen. Chris set him up on the front lawn and now we have an outdoor decoration! Yay!
We spent the rest of our evening playing the Wii and actually met up with my brothers for some  wicked MarioKart tournaments! I actually won first place in one race! Yay me! It's been a really fun day and I'm glad we were able to fill it up with so many fun events! Ahhhh the holidays! Busy but enjoyable!

Decorating the Tree

We put up our Christmas tree for Family Home Evening last night. It was a lot of fun this year because Jillian was so excited to be able to help! They did a really good job of getting all the ornaments on the tree evenly! I only had to "adjust" a few! Sadly, Chris didn't join us because he was doing a CQ shift for the evening... he was really sad about it... NOT! He loves Christmas but he just doesn't want to have much to do with the setup! I was lucky to get him to pull the Christmas boxes out of the shed for me! Anyways, we had a lot of fun together making our tree look lovely and putting up all other decorations. Jilli loved the Little People nativity again this year. It's been a hit since it came out of the box! I'll get some pictures of her with it on here another day. Enjoy these photos from our festive evening...

Saturday... Goodbyes!

We had to head back home on Saturday afternoon. We spent the morning at the Soh's, watching movies and eating Nicole's delicious homemade peanut brittle! It was really hard to leave... AGAIN!! But we're so glad we went! We had a blast. We met the Holmes on the way out of town at Salsarita's for a late lunch. It was yummy and good to see them one last time! Who knows when we shall meet again! They are headed to the West coast at the beginning of the year. It was good to get our kiddos together one last time. Jilli will miss Lucy so much! They are such good buddies! Good thing we have blogging to keep us connected! :)
We drove home and got things put away on Saturday night before going to bed in our own beds. I am so thankful that we were able to have such a good weekend! Such a blessing!

Friday Festivities!!

Princeton picked up Jilli and carried her for a bit... she was being coy!

Here is Scrooge and Jacob Marley's ghost!!

Jessi

Friday was fun! We woke up and dropped Chris, Jilli and Miah at the Holmes' for video game time and then Terina, Jessica and I went to the Soh's for Card making time!! I got all my Christmas cards finished!! Yay! Now all I have to do is write a little newsletter and mail them off! I am so excited! They turned out really cute and I had a blast doing them with my friends!! Time just flew by and before we knew it, it was time to go downtown for the Dicken's Christmas Festival! We had so much fun downtown and it was even a warmer evening so it made it very enjoyable! They handed us all candles, which we lit later, and we walked the streets checking out the booths and the actors portraying different Dicken's characters. Then they had the whole Christmas lighting ceremony where the whole street lit up with Christmas lights followed by a fun fireworks display! It was awesome!! Jilli thought the fireworks were a little loud... but she survived. Afterwards, we went to the new Panda Express they built (just because we moved away!!!) and then sent both Jessi and Miah to the Soh's home for their first sleepover! Yay! Chris, Jilli and I went back to our hotel. Jilli and Chris slept and I snuck out for some late night shopping with Terina...the shopping queen! Such fun!!
