We're Ready

Dear Eliza,

Please come! We are ready... your room is clean, blankets and burp cloths have been washed, outfits and diapers in a variety of sizes have been purchased, emergency phone lists have been put together, bills have been paid, arrangements for Ethan have been made, Van Pool substitute drivers have been lined up, Mom spent the day cleaning both the Equinox and Beetle (hoping to induce labor), Dad killed himself in the heat seeding the lawn for winter grass, laundry is done, and the house is clean.

Love,
Dad, Mom, and Ethan

Delivery

Well, we didn't deliver a baby today like we had hoped. But we got another delivery that we have been waiting for. Our 'pink chair' was moved to Ethan's room for story time and we thought that it would be awesome to have a place to rock or nurse our babies, so we invested in a rocking chair - recliner. We originally wanted a La-Z-Boy and then saw the price, so we decided to shop around. We went to a local furniture store, Kerby's, that we have had success with before. They didn't have anything on the floor, but had a chair in a catalogue that was similar to the style of the La-Z-Boy... and about $250 cheaper. It arrived today and looks and feels great! Now we just need a baby to go along with it.

37 Weeks

So here it is... what Addy looks like pregnant. (Some have requested to see a picture) She feels big, but continually gets the 'you're so small!' comment. She is having heartburn, having a hard time bending down to help Ethan, and her feet have started to swell. She had a Dr's appointment today and everything looks good... blood pressure normal, normal weight gain, etc. Eliza seems to have dropped. We would love to welcome our little bundle of joy sooner than later and are hoping she makes an appearance next Wednesday, September 23rd. Sound funny? One can hope.

Projects

We have an extensive list of projects that we would like to get finished before Eliza arrives. Addy knocked two of them off the list...

Ethan wants his (and Eliza's) bathroom painted yellow, so Addy decided to make a shower curtain that would be fun for kids and match. She quickly discovered that it is hard to find fabric with yellow accents that isn't pink. This is what she came up with... we think it works. It's not a great picture, but it looks good in person.
You know when you come home with loads of groceries, a screaming toddler, and it is 110 degrees outside? The last this you want to do is strategically prop the door open with paint cans. Addy wanted to solve this problem before adding another kid into the chaos. This is how she did it...
it's a magnetic door stop. So easy! Even Ethan knows how to use it and it has made life so much easier. The simple things in life.

Dress-up

Halloween is on its way and we couldn't be more excited. Addy is thrilled when Ethan spots all the fun Halloween things at the store - he can't get enough! We've decided on our theme this for this year, bought fabric and patterns, and ordered some costume accessories. Ethan has been enjoying dressing-up and becoming different characters in anticipation for the big day.
