NINE months

we had our 9 month check up on monday & she is perfect in every spot! but we already knew that!! miss fran was weighing in at 19 lbs 15 ozs & is 28 inches tall.  75th percentile in height and weight and 95th percentile with her big ol' head. she definitely has already figured out that "fear" of the doctors office. the moment you lay her down on that scale or table the tears start running!! here are some stats about our princess:
  • finally.....a first tooth poking through! it is the top left that was just noticed this weekend. she will be perfect looking for Halloween!
  • loves to wave & say "bye bye"
  • will gobble up some steamed veggies; she grabs a fistful and shoves them in her mouth
  • i think she cries every time she gets into her car seat. not kidding. why can't i have a child that likes their car seat?
  • loves to clap if you start singing a song
  • can we say 3rd ear infection??? 3 in less than 3 months. momma's thinking tubes.....we would like our sleep back
  • unloading the dishwasher is still her most favorite activity.....it can provide 20 minutes of entertainment
  • Hen is by far still her favorite & best friend!

busy month of october

busy busy busy! but when are we not! that is just the way it is with these two little ones. soccer has started & i think he ask every day "how many more days till soccer?".  Henry is part of the Speeding Bullets team along with our buddy Charlie.  The games are quite hilarious but a good way to get all that energy out.  Hen was pumped since he scored a goal in his first game!!

charlie celebrating after he scored his first goal

good game, good game, good game

the cutest CHICK on the sidelines....notice how she won't even touch one toy...she must stand up in the stroller....you know- the safe way to ride in it

we also made a trip to Palm Beach! well.....mommy headed down first for work for an entire week & brave daddy flew down on a friday with 2 kids all by himself. i was so proud and so very impressed! i don't think you could pay me to do that! here they are with the Davidsons- Campbell, Scarlett & Oliver.  Brett used to play pro golf with their dad Graham & we all haven't been together since we have had kids so we thought a trip was a must! Henry loved every minute being with these guys. They had all the fun toys & a pool in the backyard. He was exhausted at the end of each day which equals lots of fun! (explanation on hair bows- they put one in fran's hair so everyone thought they needed one too :) )

here is what i was working on that entire week- and this is just the guest house!  it is a project we have been working on for 3 years & luckily the install went perfect. i was very happy that all of the many hours of hard work have paid off. so many people think the world of interior design is so glamorous & easy but that is far from it! but I will say the best part of my job is being able to see the end result & seeing the delight from the homeowner.  i couldn't have asked for nicer & more respectful clients. they truly have been a pleasure to work with & this has by far been our most beautiful project. stay tuned to all the magazines because i am sure it will be published!

Mountain Getaway...

Thank goodness for the ipad and a season of Olivia...came in handy in freezing cold weather!

Eric and Ford on the tire swing- look at Ford's grip!

Lucy lovin the tire swing.

We had a little mountain getaway the first weekend in October. Headed to Linville at lunch on Friday afternoon to meet our good friends, the Mauntels, for a weekend of fall weather. Little did we know we would be greeted by snow on Saturday morning.

It was still a FABULOUS three days enjoying friendship, making memories and laughing with our children. The Mauntels kids- Ford (4 yrs.) and Emma (2 yrs) are precious and Lucy had a great time with them. Walt kicked it like most 9 weeek olds and did his fair share of napping. He is such an easy baby. We have known the Mauntels for several years and are so thankful that we could spend a weekend with them- they are fantastic.

We are loving this time with TWO kids and are so thankful...especially when we do our nightly "bed check". One of us will go and make sure everyone is sleeping soundly and then give report before we shut our own eyes. So blessed!

One Month....and a beach trip!

We took a trip with CeCe to Ocean Isle in August- right before school started. It was AWESOME. Perfect house, perfect weather and a great little respite before the crazy life resumed with school for Lucy and work for mom.

Kindergarten!

Lucy started Kindergarten in the fall. She loves school...as evidenced by the "pretend" school lessons that we see at home each afternoon. Her personality is so fun and she is really doing well in the transition to big school and a very long day (9:15 to 4:15).

Her teachers are Ms. Law and Ms. Bailey and we are really settling in to a nice routine in the morning and afternoon. A few bumps at first but she is adjusting well and has the cutest teachers around!

Walter Phillips

Ok- I need to make a major disclaimer here. Not so much for the eyes that read this now, but for the sweet son I have that may read this later in life.

I knew two would be an adjustment and it has been- Walt, you are a precious and perfect addition to our family. And because I am posting the news of your birth ten weeks after it really happened is in fact, NO absolutely, zero reflection of how important, wonderful and life changing your birth was. And is. And we are crazy about you and your sweet disposition, coos and even your cries (which you at this point rarely and only when appropriate) share with us.

Walter Phillips Woodard came into our world at around 8:15 am on July 22, 2011. He was 20 inches long and 7 lbs and 11 ounces of perfect little boy. When Stephen got up to announce what we had- I know that I glimpsed pure joy on my sweet husband's face. And it was awesome.

Lucy is a very proud big sister and has been a tremendous help. Charlotte may need a new landfill as a result of her passion for diaper changing. She is completely smitten and I know they will have a beautiful relationship as siblings. Family celebrated the day with us- and Uncle Gavin made a special trip in from California for the arrival.

So Walt- down the road- forgive the delay (and realize we didn't blog at all when Lucy was born) -but be assured that the delay was a result of 90% BUSYness getting settled and 10% exhaustion.

We love you,

Mom and Dad
