Shouting from the wild!
FINALLY...i got back to my blog n tried to write something on it. It was quite a different experience here in rural area. ok...even now in the library..there is a bee bugging me all the time! haha.
anyway, as i've mentioned before, i'm doin GP attachment here for 3 1/2 weeks. So after bout 3 days of attachment, i kinda get used to the style of GP which is totally DIFFERENT from the hospital system. no more diagnosis but most of the time just wait n see...OR referral. and a lil bit bout my GP, He's a kenyan..but grew up in UK n graduated there. he's quite a funny and easy goin guy. n he teaches me a lot. kinda stress at times but it's not too bad. n he CREATED his own consultation software. how cool is tat? although there r some error here n there but it's a complete programme tat he created by just reading n learning from the book. n i've finally get used to the programme n do my own consultation most of the time n order tests n prescribe medication wif the guide from the GP of cos. lolz..but it's quite fun tat i can do most of the things myself!
n the life here..we r staying in a house...which is STILL under renovation! but wad to do..it's cheap for onli 150 per week for 3 ppl. but the main problem now is tat there is NO SHOWER! so i have to come here earlier everyday..to do shower in the clinic. problem solved! n no internet at home..which is expected..so with nothing to do here. i watched a few series and drama..n slept before 12 almost everyday. wad a healthy sleepin pattern there.
During the weekend, we went to peel forest for tramping and also timaru for the rose festival. They are quite nice..n the walk is fun although quite hard to walk sometimes, but..kinda addicted to the tramping and probably will do more next time..mebe at Lake Tekapo...Mt cook. planning to go Queenstown this weekend as well. see how it goes.
My GP is starting at 10am...which is kinda late for a start. but good for me...at least i got some time to com n online! haha! ok...back to work!

1st day of TI year
Today is the 1st day of our final year as medical student which is also known as trainee intern...as we r in the training of being an intern which is house surgeon after we graduated. n the 1st thing we get as TI is our yellow colour ID card..which is different from the blue ones we had for the past 2 years. but due to the lousy system they got there...most of the ID card they we got haf some prob with the photo..either it's too dark..like mine which makes me look like i had sunburn on the face or too yellow as if they have severe jaundice. therefore, most of us haf to retake our photos..to have a better looking ID card :)beside doin that, we haf whole day of talk by the doctors from different department to tell us bit bout the process and procedures in the hospital tat we might need to do in this coming year..it's quite boring..but not too bad la..at least i manage to stay awake for the whole day!
will be starting my GP run tmr. kinda stress as the ppl in my group r all quite smart including the smartest guy ever in the class. haha...but luckily they all r nice ppl..so wont be too bad being with them. will haf 2 days of lectures and go to my rural GP in temuka...about 2 hrs drive from christchurch. all accommodation stuff sorted! which is great..i'm sure it will be fun there..mebe have chance to travel around as well :)

Maruia Springs
it's last day of the 2 weeks summer holiday we have. How short the holiday is especially after our crazee final exam just 2 weeks ago. Anyway, we still make full use of our holiday n have lots of fun when we haf totally nothing to worry about n just do things that we wan to do. After the trip to Gold coast, I spent most of the time just at home n live a life with absolutely no worries, no thinking. some ppl might think tat staying at home all the time is soooo boring, but to have tat once in a while is fantastic! it's great..watch some drama or movie whenever i wan to..play some games when i'm bored.
after bout a week of doin nth, 5 of us decided to go to maruia springs for a day trip. it took bout 2 1/2 hours to drive from christchurch to the destination. It's a japanese style hot spring which is in the middle of nowhere with no phone reception, no internet..so it will be a good place to be away from busy city n relax.
Andrew and Raenna with waterfall massage :) it's hot water and falling on the back. quite comfortable

It was a fun trip..although there r no very exciting things to do. but just sit back n relax n talk bout some stuff are great! after we enjoyed enuff of the pool, we drive back to christchurch and went for a vegetarian place for dinner and bubble tea...best in christchurch apparently. and also the same day..we went strawberry fair for good dessert! it was a great day!
dun think we will haf time like this in the future. goin to be TI (trainee intern) starting from tmr..which is the final year student here. will be spending much more time in the ward with the teams n do wad the doctors do in the hospital...hopefully everything will be fine!
n ya...all the best for whoever having exam soon...especially those in Australia who's having exam tmr...all the best chris and christine :D

Christian the Lion
thought tis video is quite meaning :) so sweet tat the Lion still remember the owner. friendship is suppose to be the same. no matter how long and how far u've been separated from your friends, the bonding shudnt change no matter wad. but human's world is not as simple as that. ppl change, environment changes, different lifestyles causing us not to be close with each other. Is there really such friendship that will last forever? maybe! never know...
Love knows no limits and true friendship last a lifetime
how true is tat?
some ppl..they like to put their thoughts into others' mind which means, they believe so strongly in their own thinking that he think tat's the rule of the world n everything shud work his way. but wad he never realise is that, his thinking like tat, making everyone distant themselves away from him cos...everyone have their own way of thinking and own thoughts, u can never force others to think the way u do and not understanding that just makes ppl see no point of argueing bout it and talkin bout it n turn away to save the trouble. so do think before u say or do sth as u do not own the world :D

another presentation tmr :(
sigh..just got to finish preparing my power point presentation tmr for another case to be presented to the convenor of the course tmr. well, not a very hard or complicated presentation. just tat have to present to the convenor kinda freak me up especially when i'm not good in public speaking anyway. n he just doenst seems to be the nicest person to present a case to. but after all..still got to do it. hope he'll be nice enuff to not ask me too many random questions and stuff.
n yea..seeing tat i just finished presentation prep, i still haf 2 presentations to do. how am i suppose to study for the final in 3 weeks time? or less than tat actually. sigh...!! i seriously think tat i cant handle it tat well now. suddenly thinkin of OnG stuff to do, osce to sit and 1 week after tat the final exam. there r just too many things goin on. can i really do it? i seriously got no idea. just too many things goin on at this time which not helping really.
argh! i seriously dunno wad to do! someone help? ........................speechless................NITE!

it's weekend? or is it?
it's friday! about time for me to sleep oledi actually. weekend started. but not for me :( will be having a revision class in the morning, study session in the afternoon and obs on call from 8pm to 8am. the whole weekend will be gone like tat. again..just toooooo many things to do.
have no idea how to study for my final really. kinda scary and too many things to study. oh..had one of my presentation this morning. wasnt too bad...n the whole gp started laughin after they se.....
dunno whether it's a good thing..but at least i got the attention from the ppl :) after that spent whole day in family planning clinic...saw lots of ppl on OCP, a guy who had vasectomy, a volunteer lady for us to do bimanual exam and cervical smear on. good for learning!
Jay's new song is really nice. very different from wad he usually does. after so many years, still manage to get some surprise from him which is good. much better than the previous album for me. good job :D

still not liking gynae
oh man...still dun think tat i'll like gynae. mebe just the wrong time of the year i have to do this run, or i'm just not interested in it at all. on top of tat...need to do 4 presentations summore. makin me not able to like it. goin to have my 1st presentation tmr. not tat i've never done anything like this before, and just 5 mins presentation. shudnt be too hard. but still kinda worry bout it after all. just cos...i'm not a person who can talk well :P oh well..just have to cope wif that i guess
not having a real busy day today actually. but somehow i got a headache from the day. probably cos of all the microbiology stuff tat one of the prof talked bout in the lecture make me crazee. not a very good day for me. this morning as well, had a session wif SANDS (stillbirth and neonatal death support group) ppl to tell us wad they do for the family who had stillbirth or neonatal death. one of the thing they do to support is send card to the family every year for the "anniversary" during the day when the baby passed away. i'm not sure is it the cultural difference or wad, i dun think chinese will wan that to happen. cos tat will just remind them of the "pain" they have been thro year after year and we tend to leave it behind and try not to remember too much bout it. but here, they still treat the baby as part of the family and talk about it constantly, have pic in the house n stuff. mebe just diff coping mechanism. but it's real sad to have neonatal death...when u dun even haf a chance to have a close look at the baby before they passed away. how sad. after 40 weeks of pregnancy. same for the miscarriages.
tmr is not goin to be any better for me...to have presentation at 9 and having to rush for the family planning clinic right after that..and stay there for whole day. anyway..will see how it goes :)

1 month to final exam :(
exam is coming so soon...just less than a month time to prepare for it. it feels almost the same as the sem 5 exam we had bout 2 years ago. just tat this time i've got lots more to study compare to the previous one. so much til i haf no idea wad to study now. and also, no more usual ppl who i used to study wif in the library almost everyday til late as well as midnite study + supper which went til 5 in the morning sometimes.
i'm currently doin OnG attachment. there r so many presentations to do and so many things to read. it's just really demanding i thought..especially when we have exam real soon. there is onli a week break btw the end of OnG run and final exam. hopefully everything will goes well and then i can have a nice although short holiday after tat.
talked about some ppl being insecure in life. they just have to try their best to get attention from other ppl including telling the world about other ppl to show to the world that they know everything in the world. they scared to be "loser", they wan to win, they wan the whole world think tat he's on the top. that's just too many things happen they haf been thro to make them feeling insecure or try very best to protect themselves. i just hope they can open up themselves more and we as the ppl around can do our part :)
back to study again! still waiting for jay chao's new album :D

Jason Mraz
Just found out bout this singer Jason Mraz today but according to andrew that he actually had a hit before during his A Level time. Anyway, this singer who compose his own songs wif his guitar is really good with very unique style of singing and elements in his songs make a very fresh presentation of the song. He does not need all the funky and expensive mixing of the song but able to produce 12 very different songs in his latest album by fusion of different elements.

The singer who wanted to be involve in musical theater at the beginning finally found his own way after picking up his guitar and compose songs from what he thinks and how he feels like. and produced this album which is release in May called We sing, We dance, We steal things

The song I'm Yours is a must to introduce to everyone else. So far about 15 million hits in youtube oledi..enjoy :)

what happened to my holiday?
2nd day of holiday now..but doesnt really feel like holiday sometimes as i still haf to take some time out to force myself to do some studies to feel bit better and less guilty. but still..it's a holiday. so will haf more entertainment than studying? haha.. watched some movies and got some new albums to listen to as well during this holiday.
1st movie i watched is wanted by angelina jolie. watched it wif andrew and john at home with the downloaded version John has got which is pirated from Russia or sth with some funny subtitle. but still..it's spoken in English..so not too bad. Wasnt a bad movie but not as great as i've expected it to be. The idea itself is good with some actions like curling the bullet and stuff but some of them just seems too fake for me like matrix in the real world? Angelina jolie continue to be her arrogant and sexy self =="

and then we went to watch tropic thunder on sunday nite as it has got a good rating and seems to be a great movie wif ben stiller, jack black and robert downey junior. but again, it's a disappointment for me. the whole story is just pure stupid wif them trying to be funnier than the others. but there are quite a few parts which are quite funny. and the unexpected thing is that tom cruise is in the movie too!! didnt know bout this til andrew told me when we were watching the movie. n he acted as an retarded old man!? in the movie....yea! spot for him if u r goin to watch it.

and then i also downloaded Red cliff n watched it yesterday. one of the story in three kingdoms they get the story line from acted by tony leung, takeshi kaneishiro, zhao wei, lin zhi ling, zhang zhen yue. was wondering how can they make a war movie nice and interesting and can be accepted by all the audience. n John woo did a very good job in that. He integrate some funny scene in which make the whole movie more lively and u dont get bored with 2 1/2 hrs long movie like u did for other chinese movie. All the actors did their character so well and uniquely. cant wait for the 2nd part to be out.

and finally, i also watched made of honour today. bit outdated for this. but overall it's quite an interesting movie. everyone said it's real funny but some of the scenes are quite pathetic for patrick dempsey lo when he tried to fight with the groom for the bride. but yea..a relaxing comedy to watch.

Tat's all for the movie so far. and i got daniel powter's new album Under the Radar. The canadian pianist and singer who get famous by singing Bad Day which was the song for american idol last time when someone got eliminated. n this album is really good as well. songs like Best of Me, Not Coming Back and Next Plane Home are real good :D

and lastly this album by two taiwanese who joine the singing competition called one million star in taiwan. The guy is the winner of that competition and the girl is the most popular contestant among all of them. They formed a rock group and produced this new album. I think it's a very fresh and new to have rock duet and stuff in this album. they haf lots of different music element in the album. and the gal have really good voice too. Love it.

Ok..it's time to get back to my asthma in children lecture notes. need to study for paeds..and prepare for presentation...and study for final. so many things to do!! oh no! jia you!

Holiday!!
It's sunday today. 31st August...Malaysia independent day. although malaysia's politic is goin no where at the moment, which i dun really understand and care much. but it's still a reasonably good day to be remembered and celebrate for all the malaysian :)
finally..after a few weeks of crazy and pack schedule of exam, everything is sort of over for now. Pharmaco exam, biochem and micro exam as well as the Maori osce are over. Passed pharmaco and Maori osce. Praise the Lord! without Him, i wouldnt be able to pass the exam especially the Maori osce as i didnt know what to expect at all during the exam and He gave me wisdom and made me calm during the exam so that i could just do things that i've learnt and managed to pass it :)
holiday time now...started actually on thursday after 2 days of integrative week revision lectures which went from 930 in the morning to 630 at night. but at least we got days off after that. which is good. and after all the stress n stuff, it's time for me to get sick again. so yea..caught a cold when it's becoming spring here. how weird is tat? oh well..2nd day with block nose now. Hopefully it get better soon ;p
week of holiday start from now. but cant enjoy too much. cos haf to prepare for end of year exam. grr...all the best to myself n all the 5th year students including those in oz :D
when ppl got busy, we tend not to keep in touch wif ppl who are quite far away from us. some ppl said frenship is to help each other when one of them in trouble. so when everyone is at diff places n diff path, u make new friends and loses old ones as u just simply do not need each other anymore. well...i dun agree with that. but yea..losing contact is a common thing. but i'm sure we will still keep in touch after the crazy year eh? cheerz!

Hopefully it get better soon ;p
week of holiday start from now. but cant enjoy too much. cos haf to prepare for end of year exam. grr...all the best to myself n all the 5th year students including those in oz :D
when ppl got busy, we tend not to keep in touch wif ppl who are quite far away from us. some ppl said frenship is to help each other when one of them in trouble. so when everyone is at diff places n diff path, u make new friends and loses old ones as u just simply do not need each other anymore. well...i dun agree with that. but yea..losing contact is a common thing. but i'm sure we will still keep in touch after the crazy year eh? cheerz!

back for a short while
haven written much here for quite some time. just got real busy the last couple of weeks with exam n stuff. and also guess there r nothing much happening here..so nth to write as well.
just couple of updates...had musculo run over n barely passed the assessment which is great..at least i dun haf to do all those case reports anymore although i quite like orthopaedic myself but still dun think i'll be a surgeon although my sister said tat it will be wasted to not being a surgeon for a relatively tall person. well...we shall see. started with paeds 2 weeks ago n had lots n lots of lecture about paeds which can get really boring especially they r held in a small stuffy room. but the pratical part is interesting..went to plunket and kindergarden to play with the kids n get to interact with kids a lot. oh ya.n oso the play specialist who basically play with the kids in the hospital to distract them from the scary hospital environment which is pretty cool. but get real tired after playing wif them..they seems to have so much energy that they will never finish using them.
had pharmacology, biochem and micro test for the past 2 weeks which were crazee cos there r so much things to read!!!! but still manage to get thro it. all of us passed pharmaco test. phew..MOSCE is comin next week..wad's tat? Maori osce..erm..it's not something tat we get excited of cos..but haf to pass it to get term..grr!! so..not smart idea. lolz..
paeds r getting more interesting now with the practical stuff...quite enjoy it so far. will be having a week of revision week and 1 week of holiday before continue wif paeds stuff. will be great to have a break.
sometimes things happen around u, u get annoyed with ppl around and the anger just drive ur life, u do things based on the judgement by ur anger and it just get worse and worse. sometimes u try to be nice but things just dun seems to happen as the way u like it to be. really sien..but life goes on. guess haf to learn to be nicer? to not to get angry so easily n get along wif ppl more easily la.
lastly..happy birthday to all august babies :) nitez

Orthopaedic = Quality of Life
when ppl mention about orthopaedic surgeons..they think bout human mechanic, nasty ppl who do all the grilling, poking , screwing n stuff. when ppl will think of quality of life when they mention bout the orthopaedic surgeon? but just haf some thought about that. When u r dealing wif bones and stuff, most of the disease they are dealing with are chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis n others..and most of the conditions are not life threatening as well unlike other specialties such as cardiologist which deal with life threatening conditons and once they did sth wrong..the patient might die!! so if the conditions/diseases r not life threatening...why do u need to operate on the patient? for money? for fun? it's come to Quality of Life after all. when it comes to knee joint replacement, or hip replacement becos of bad joints and bad bones which are caused by different disease, it's not the surgeon's say whether to operate on them or not..but the patient. whether they wanna take the risk to have the surgery done and get rid of the diseased joints for better life. so...orthopaedic surgeons are still human after all :P
yea...i'm talkin bout bones now. will be talkin bout this for the next 5 weeks cos i'm doin musculoskeletal attachement which means orthopaedic and rheumatology. today is the 1st day of the attachment. din do much..so will talk more bout this next time :)
got my psychiatry result today..finished this run like ages ago n got my result. well...get a PASS for the run! sort of know it long time ago cos it's hard to fail after u pass the OSCE. n seeing the feedback..i can see a real nasty consultant. one of the consultant i attached to said that she din remember seeing me after 1st couple of days which make it sound like i never turn up for anything. but in fact, it's just bcos we haf lots of lectures during those 2 weeks n when i turn up..she wasnt there. soooo nasttttyyy!! luckily i still got a pass...phew~! now just hope tat i pass my neuro run as well!
ok..i'm actually haf to do my maori case today...or actually since 3 weeks ago. but still haven got it started. just 2 more weeks to get it done...grr..will start tmr? haha...just sien to do this. i would rather spend more time reading muscular stuff than doin that assignment la. but still...who ask me to come to otago a? got a morning off tmr..yea! can sleep in
i'm goin to gold coast wif the rest on 8th Nov - 13 Nov..any1 in oz by tat time? hee...
tat's all...bye!

trip back to christchurch
the day before i need to fly back to christchurch to continue wif my stressful life over here from a comfortable n relaxing life from kuching..i decided to do some shopping! to bring as much stuff as possible from kuching to stock up for the use over here for the next couple of months.
the day started early morning by sending the cars for service. both waja and altis. the Waja tat i used to be driving everyday when i was studying in KL was in really bad condition by now. both of the handles on the front doors came off. thanks to gordon for one of them :) haha..n lots other prob. after service and changing everything, it costs for more than 1k for tat car.

after tat, went for groceries shopping wif my dad n tat's when my shopping day started. bought laksa paste, instant coffee, milo, bak kut teh packages, instant noodles n lots of other food stuff which can last for another half a year for me i think. then went tun jugah to get more pants n shirts n other clothings. bought 3 pants and 4 formal shirts all together. oh...not forgetting 1kg of muruku and a few "publicated" games :) spent quite a bit of money there.. :P
all bout packing after tat. din realise tat i actually bought quite some stuff until i started packing. n there r just too many things for me to bring. spent almost the whole nite packing and also the next morning.
Saturday was a rush day too. continue wif my packing in the morning and bring everything to the airport to see how heavy the check in luggage will be...1st luggage..16kg! oh no...tat's soooo heavy. then the box wif all the food stuff 9kg. another small bag wif foods 4kg..which with the total of about 30 kg! damn...need to repack...but after tat decided to just put everything in n see wad the person at the counter say bout the luggage. n he actually mentioned nothing!!! n i manage to send my final 28kg of stuff here to christchurch. woohoo...!!
and also tat afternoon itself, went for sushi king wif my dad, my sis and brother in law. 1st sushi king since i went back. haven really had fast food when i went back to kuching, no KFC, pizza hut, mcDonald n stuff...guess there r just too many food in kuching ba...sushi king was good! very good...
then i start my more than 10 hours journey flight to christchurch from kuching - singapore - christchurch. the flight was alright apart from an annoying old guy beside which doesnt let andrew to change seat wif him although he was travelling alone. n oso he on the reading light but starring at me when he wanted to sleep..thinkin tat i keep the light on. LOLz...n he was just keep starring at me again n again. so i cant stand it anymore n asked: do u wan the light off? and reach over to his remote n press the light button to switch it off. ish... n oso 2 hours before landing, the movie system - krisworld for my whole row actually not working. bcos of tat..cant finished watching step up 2..which was good. onli get to watched enchanted which i watched halfway from the flight 3 weeks ago and big daddy.
here i am in christchurch. starting musculoskeletal tmr...grr!! *finger crossed*

Time in Kuching!
cant believe that i'm oledi back here in kuching for 3 weeks. and just 2 more days i will be leaving and go back to christchurch to continue wif my busy and stressful life there. back at home is really great, when i dun haf to worry bout wad to cook the next day, what to study and how i did in my exam for the last attachment. but haf to be back to the reality very soon.
In these 3 weeks, i've been quite busy actually apart from eating, shopping and sleepin. the 1st week and so was used to prepare my eldest sister's wedding. spent a few nites making a slideshow video to be played during the wedding dinner. other than tat, also did some minor helping up stuff like preparing the door gifts, buying the guest book, get ready the music and stuff. it was a great wedding after all the hard work. now i understand why guys dont get as excited as girls when talk bout wedding. firstly, guys have to pay for most of the expanses for the wedding from the make up, present, ang pao, dinner and so on. besides, the groom will haf to get bullied by the bride's frens when he wanna get the bride...haf to do all the funny stuff just to get the bride. and oso...it's just tiring. not just the day itself, but the planning and preparation from months ago. aiyo...not easy le. hahaha! anyway, Congrats to my sis and my bro in law! wishing u guys a great future ahead!!
my whole family went all the way to sarikei - another town in sarawak for the wedding which is the home town of my mum and brother in law. it was about 5 hours drive from kuching town. we went there on friday morning, had rehearsal in the afternoon then the wedding on the next day. church service in the morning and dinner at night. after that came back to kch on sunday.

Sunday night we arrived in kch and had a farewell dinner wif my bro and the family...my sister in law and niece. they were leaving to glasgow as my brother is goin to study over there for 3 years. not goin to see them til then...my niece is onli 8 months old and she got to travel to UK...sigh! kids nowaday...haha! and also on sunday nite itself, i did some planning as a group of my frens coming to kuching for 3 days visit.
Monday afternoon, 7 of them - Hau chun, Hon lian, Gordon, Sze siew, Christina, Kexin, Chin pei arrived in kch. with the help of leonard, we went to pick them up from airport n started their trip in kch. it was really great to see they all again. the meeting wif them n time spent wif them reminded myself how much i miss my frens here in M'sia. i really enjoyed their visit and companies myself. the friends in Msia r just different from the ppl i meet in Christchurch. i dunno how to elaborate more on that. but mebe different culture and background, environment thingy, we just sort of having different types of thinking and therefore, we cant be tat close compare to ppl i meet in msia. busy life over there in christchurch sort of forcing myself to leave tat feeling behind and keep tat inside myself as i understand tat by having that feeling will not change the fact that we are goin to be at different places having different lives.
anyway...really appreciate ur visit guys...and hope to see u guys real soon. hope u all enjoy the trip...although it was quite tiring :) take carez!!

update *_*
this is the 5th week of my neurosensory run. which is a rather busy run with all the teaching and stuff and this is also the 1st run that i have tutorial from 5-6pm some days when we will have the teaching after the sun goes down as it's winter now :P lots of things to study as well..
ENT ( ear, nose and throat) and ophthalmo exam on this coming friday. so got to really study for it as ENT can be really hard according to previous groups. but but...i'm goin back home on SUNDAY!! which is 4 more days from now. at least there is sth to look forward to. will be back in kch til 28th of june....yay! had my neuro osce yest..hopefully i didnt do toooo badly.
post run plan so far...KTV (1st time in NZ) this friday afternoon starting at 5pm for mebe 3 or 4 hours. initially planned to go Lake Tekapo on saturday for a day trip but dun think can make it as the main activities there which are ice skating and hot spring will be close just on tat day. too bad...so, no other plan yet so far.

Neurosensory
just a bit of update over here. had my psyc osce last friday before i finish the run and move forward to the attachment tat i'm goin to start tmr - Neurosensory. The osce was alright. the patient aka the actor presented to GP to get the blood test done becos he thinks tat there is lots of gas in his body!? but anyway, he was suppose to have schizophrenia aka psychosis..so it make sense in his point of view. and know my result right after the interview...and i PASSED!! yay!
after the test, have a great and stressless weekend. nothing much to do, basically just catch up wif some sleep and rest. went out couple of times for meals tho! but it's good...to sort of enjoy the life when not bothered by studies or anything else. played a bit of final fantasy 12 on ps2 as well. wasnt too bad...wif great graphic and some new features compare to ffX...which we can actually fight on the scene but not to have a fighting mode before we fight. so tat's kinda cool...but bit messy to control i realise...mebe i'm still not good in it. need more time to practice. bit more complicated as well to build up the character and stuff.
will be starting neurosensory run tmr which includes neurology, ENT and ophthalmology. heard it's not a very busy run but from wad i get from the timetable, there's lots and lots of tutorial to attend to. hope it's not boring but actually something interesting la. pray for the best in new run for everyone!
oh...recently find out bout this jazz trumpeter and composer which have albums on his own on jazz music n he play awesome trumpet!! have been looking for a trumpet album..n finally found it. downloading his latest album italia..hope it will be nice :D
phew...relaxing weekend is over. have to get myself ready for the new challenge in new run! cant wait for june after this run is over :)

last day of holiday!
oh no...time really flies when u have nothing to do. today is the last day of my 1 week holiday. have to go back to the busy student life again tmr. waking up before the sun rise is just annoying especially when i usually sleep so early in the morning around 2 or 3am. anyway...life goes on! have to slowly get used to the life. i will be starting at 830 every morning from tmr. meaning i have to wake up at 7 to get ready. guess it's not tat bad after all.
now i'm looking forward to the holiday in june as i'll be goin back home!! my flight is on 9th june from christchurch - singapore - kuching and back from kuching on 28th june. at least there is sth to look forward to and not too far away. just another 7 weeks. and sban ppl comin over for a visit. there r 7 of them coming..so will be thinking where to bring them to. mostly just food ya :D such as...
Klang bak kut teh...especially for hau chun!! haha...this photo is taken in kch so i'm sure u'll feel like home when u come over :))
just another random thought: sometimes no matter how close u get to know someone, if they didnt wan to tell u sth, it is just impossible for u to guess wad r they thinking. we r just human and we can read other's mind...u'll never know wad they wan and whether u did sth wrong to them or not. so sometimes it's just good to speak everything out, at least ppl know wad u r thinking, but not keepin everything to urself and making urself feel miserable. and at the same time, we dun live to make other ppl happy, we just cant think for others all the time when we make a decision lo. just know tat we r doin the right thing...tat's all!

Haematology!!
today's my 2nd day of a week attachment in Haematology department which is mainly based at the health lab where they haf their outpatient clinic and also bone marrow transplant unit as the ward for the department. felt welcoming in the department as everyone acknowledge our existence there in the department. it was an interesting experience for me so far, as i get to see sth tat i've never seen before and learn sth other than the normal rotation we have. Haematology = study of blood.
for yest, i followed a registrar who was in charged of bone marrow biopsy. so i get to observe and assist in a few bone marrow biopsy taken from the patients both aspiration and trephine where a piece of bone taken out from the pelvic bone and also aspiration from the sternum. the patients didnt seem to be in too much pain as i expected...guess the LA was really working for them and i get to feel the bone using the needle and "drill" the bone with the equipment.
and this morning i spent the whole morning in the lab seeing how the blood tests being done and also do some of them by myself. they got a funky machine just last year which help to do most of the haematology tests by itself which is totally automated and efficient. it also make a blood film by itself. how cool is tat?
tmr will be hard for me as i have to be there in the ward at 645am which means i have to wake up at 530am n get ready to walk to hospital. so early...even before the champion league matches started. but i get the afternoon off after tat. so guess it's not too bad.
I'm enjoying haematology!! got a lil surprise yest!! :D thx!

addicted to this song recently. can ask froggy if u do not believe. i've been playing this song every single day n every single time i on my laptop. this is the only song in my playlist for these few days...meaning the song keep on repeating all the time. haha!
watched the movie brothers by Andy Lau recently. well, nothing new about the plot and the cast, normal police against gangster story...but right after the movie finished..just felt different from other movie especially it ends with saying: brothers may seems to be going against each other, but they are still brothers inside their heart.
"兄弟一场从来不分你我喔

friends do not need a promise to be true heartedly towards each other. That's what a friendship is :)

April Fool!
til today I still dun understand why ppl have april fool on the 1st day of April when April is such a great month! anyway...why do we need a day to tell lie to everyone arround us n they are not allowed to get mad bcos of tat? tat's just mean....
anyway, been attached to psychiatry hospital for 3 weeks now. but most of the time i've been away from the hospital for tutorial and teaching. din get to spend much time in the hospital with the team itself. for these 2 days, i've had full days with the team but sad to say tat it wasnt productive for me either. my team onli haf 6 patients whereas the other teams all have 20++ patients. and since i'm in the team with psychosis patient, i din get the chance to actually talk and take history from them. was suppose to do a case this afternoon but the patient refused cos he is tired...according to him while lying under the sun. well...everything in tat hospital is just unpredictable. not liking the psych run so far but actually is more interested in psychology compare to psychiatry. dun like how they just wan the patient to take medication but din spend much time talkin to the patient. but yea...guess tat's one of the way to get them better as well.
after this week will be having a week of "elective". we were asked to write down 5 choices of the department or specialist tat we wan to follow for the week and they will assign us with the doctors according to tat. my choices are:
1. haematology
2. emergency medicine
3. ENT
4. Plastic surgery
5. Opthalmology
not sure which 1 i'll get yet. but guess they all will be quite interesting...hopefully!!
after tat we will be having a week of holiday. planning to join the church camp as well as a trip down to lake tekapo. 3 hours drive south from Christchurch. heard it is a really nice place. cant wait for travelling again...then back to psych again..will be attached to emergency psychiatry for 2 weeks before my osce n end of the run.
Events/places I must visit for at least once:
1. Military tattoo in Edinburgh
2. Rainforest music festival in Kuching
3. University of Otago main campus -_-"
4. 3rd world countries
5. Rescue team!!

Leona Lewis - Footprints in the sand
You walked with me
Footprints in the sand
And helped me understand
Where I'm going
You walked with me
When I was all alone
With so much unknown
Along the way
Than I heard you say
(Chorus)
I promise you
I'm always there
When your heart is filled with sorrow
and despair
I'll carry you
When you need a friend
You'll find my footprints in the sand
I see my life
Flash across the sky
So many times have I
Been so afraid
And just when I
I thought I'd lost my way
You gave me strength to carry on
Thats when I heard you say
(Chorus)
When I'm weary
Lord, I know you've been there
And I can feel you when you say
Powerful song with great lyrics...touching music video as well.incredible voice by the X Factor winner Leona Lewis ;p

Critical Care...depressing!!

my 1 week attachment on critical care is over!! i guess this will be the easiest attachment ever in clinical school here. it's onli a week of tutorials and stuff on anaesthesia, emergency medicine and intensive care. the great thing bout the run is tat there is no assignments to do...and no end of run assessment!!! how awesome can it be? too bad tat it's onli for a week. will be much better if we haf 2 weeks on tat ;p
however, the intensive care is somehow depressing, ppl stayed there without knowing when will they recover or even a chance of recovering.
wad's the prognosis of the patient? "we'll see how he/she does"
wad can we do bout it? "there's nothing much we can do but just to give supportive care"
well, tat's wad intensive care unit does..to give support to the critically ill patients and finger crossed and hope tat they will recover somehow..
attachment with anaesthesist in the theatre is quite fun. but most of the time sitting there n get bored while waiting for the surgeries to be over. surprisingly tat all anaesthesists whom i followed did not play sudoku while waiting. haha...i was tempted to play bejeweled in my pda while waiting. it was a nice experience after all!
anyway...the easy run is over and doin psych run next. will be attached to emergency psychiatry for 2 weeks. tat sounds interesting to me. will see how it goes. there r so many holidays to look forward to: easter weekend, a week holiday in april, ANZAC day...so i guess the run will be quite fun with so many holidays in btw :D
oh...and i'm goin back to kch from 9th june til 28th june!!! n hau chun they all coming over to kch for a visit around tat time :)

Forgiveful vs. truthful
in any form of relationship, u'll see the weakness of the others. tat's for sure as no1 in this world is perfect. but when someone get so annoyed by certain people bcos of things that he's done, he can still be close with that person without feeling anything wrong. does tat means tat he has forgiven the guy as he has such a big heart? or he's just not being truthful. i believe tat it's not tat easy for a human to forgive someone so easily as nothing had happened before.on other hand, is he fake by pretending that nothing has happened? well, i cant be judgmental here. as for me, it's not something that simple!
i'm starting to lose my patience and cool...grr...!!!

Alcoholics Anonymous!
i'm currently doin addiction medicine which is a block course tat last for 2 weeks. i tot it is goin to be a boring attachment just like public health tat i had last 2 weeks. but it's actually quite interesting i must say. despite the boring lectures and tutorial on alcohol and drugs we get to go out from the tutorial room for more interesting stuff such as needle exchange place, drugs addict rehabilitation home, and self help group meetin which is the anonymous meeting.
there are lots of different anonymous meeting around which is quite common over here...but i'm not sure whether they do it in malaysia. anyway, i attended an alcoholics anonymous the other day. and there are about 64 meetings at different places in christchurch itself every week. which is crazee lots and it shows how alcohol is a prob here in new zealand. lol! of cos there r other anonymous such as narcotic, overeating, gambling and so on. i'm actually interested in goin for the overeating anonymous eating. it will be really interesting and mebe some of us do haf the addiction as well. haha!
anyway, alcoholics anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. which is really cool i think cos others really dun understand how they become so addictive to certain things and what is goin thro their mind and wanting to get more alcohol. it's really interesting for us to listen to their story as well and to understand the condition from their point of view. like how they have no idea that they are addictive, and wanting more but tryin every way to hide from other ppl. and ADDICTION RUNS IN FAMILY...be aware of tat :)
