...New Year

Wow! This Christmas holiday season came and gone in a flash! Starting on the 19th of December, my little brother Jeff was supposed to come home from him mission. Of course the weather has to interfere! He got stuck in DC in that huge storm that came through. His flights out kept getting canceled cause of the storm. Finally he was on standby with 45 others and for some reason he was able to get on that flight out! It was a miracle. The plane that he flew in on from Vienna to DC still had his luggage! He finally made it SLC 3:00 on Sunday the 20th afternoon. It was a good reunion. He looks the same and sounds the same!

Then Christmas came. I decorated our tree this year with candy! The kids loved it! These were their ornaments this year.

We were with Lincoln's family this year and we had every day planned out just perfectly. We met up with some friends for some Tai food which gave me food poisoning but it was so much fun getting back with them again. We really do miss them. We went out to Taylor and Annette's to celebrate Taylor's birthday. Which started off our weekend of Festivities!
Then the next day we had a Christmas Eve feast.  Christmas was a blast of course. Kolten was awake at 7 and Hatti was up at 8:30. We had a light breakfast and then showed the kids to the staging area drenched in toys and clothes.
We opened our gifts and had a lovely brunch. I made Aebleskivers. Dang good! We had a family activity and games planned for the rest of the day.
The day after Christmas we decided to go skiing/snowboarding. Now I haven't been since 8th grade. It has been 13 years since I last got on the slopes! I picked it up but I am definately nothing to brag about. In fact, I am that person that people riding on the chair lift say "wow, look at that girl, she is way worse than that 4 year old that we saw!" ha ha! That's ok. I had a good time!
Sunday Jeff reported his mission. We loaded up the car at 6:30 in the morning and headed to Soda for church. Jeff gave such a good talk. We are so proud of him. My mom had a huge dinner for everybody. It was good to see family that I haven't seen for awhile. Kolten still wants to see Ammon. We loaded up the car again and headed home one more time!
Just when we thought all our partying was over, Kolten and Ryan had a birthday on the 28th, Monday.

I wanted to make the day special for Kolten. But I didn't do that good of a job when I started it off by taking him to the ear, nose, and throat specialist. Either he has tonsilitis that has never been taken care of or he needs his tonsils out. The doctor put him on Amoxicilan for 4 weeks. 2 tsps a day. If that don't work then he has to get them out. Poor kid. So after that doctor appointment he got Hatti back from Granny and I took all 3 kids to lunch at Arctic Circle. I talked Lincoln into getting off work early to go to the movie with us. Good thing he did. Can you imagine me and 3 kids in a movie theatre! I don't think so! But I was willing to try. We went to Chipmunks. The kids liked it. Then we met up with Lincoln's family and went to Applebee's. Came home and had cookies and cake with ice cream for Ryan and Kolten's birthday. It was a blast.

Tuesday and Wednesday we got back into our routine just a little bit. Then another holiday hit. New Years. We planned another ski trip. This time at Beaver. Ryan, Taylor, Annette, Lincoln's dad Jared, and Lincoln and I. My mom and dad were so sweet for taking my kids. We headed up to Beaver to hit the first part of the half day. We went down the first run and thought that it was going to be an awesome day. It was snowing fluffy flakes and the runs were great. We get up to the second run and Lincoln hits a jump and crashed. It didn't look good. Ryan went down and got the medics. He rode down the hill in the toboggan! The doctor there told him that he just tore some muscles in his neck and that we would be sore for about 4-6 weeks. Well that sucks. We weren't about to go back up the hill and I didn't want him to sit and wait for me. So we made arrangments for the others that we were with and I got our money back and we headed back to Soda to my parents house. I had Lincoln lay down on my bed and gave him some pills for the pain. About 2 hours passed and he thought he should go to the doctor. We didn't really want to go to the ER cause of the price! It was new years day. Nobody was open. So we once again loaded everybody up in the car and headed back to Rexburg. I dumped the kids off with my mother in law and took Lincoln to community care who was open! The doctor was not very gentle when taking off his shirt off examine him. He had 3 on by the way! By now the pain has persisted. They took him into the x-ray room and had him lay on the bed. Lone behold he broke his collar bone in 3 spots. I don't know how he wasn't dying. They told him the news and he started getting faint again. He sits in the chair and does just that. FAINTS! I didn't know what to do. I called for the doctor and they came and grabbed his feet and threw them in the air. Then his arm was all propped up on the side arm of the chair. I don't know how he wasn't screaming. But i guess no pain when you pass out! He finally came to and they had to wheel him back into the room on a hospital bed. It took him a minute to get back some color. They put a brace on him that pulls back his shoulders that will help align the bones back to normal. We load him back up in the car and head for home. It was a nightmare of a drive. He could feel every bump in the road. The railroad tracks made him almost faint again. Not good. I stopped the car in the middle of the road and ran around the side to prop up his feet. I rolled down the window and stuck them out, Got home and had his dad help him in. The first day out was a complete nightmare. I haven't slept in 2 nights between him and the 3 kids! I took all 3 kids to church with me today all by myself. They actually did pretty good. He is feeling a lot better today. He has been up walking around quite a bit. So he will be out of commission for 6-8 weeks. Maybe longer if it doesn't heal properly. We are praying fore sooner!
I hope you all had a good holiday season! I promised my Aunt I would try to do better at blogging! So if you made it all the way to the bottom after reading all this you are a true friend!
