So, we have 16 more days until we fly into Orlando for our little Disney excursion. Both of the kids are so excited that I made them a Disney countdown chart. I have to give credit to The Crafting Chicks because that's where I saw the idea. Of course, I had to use all my own fonts/colors/patterns (mainly polka dots!) so I didn't use their template. I spent so much time on this chart that we are going to have to go to Disney World every year! ha!
Here is the chart:
Here is the chart with the countdown circles added. As you can see, we have 16 more days and each day that we wake up, the kids fight to add the circle to the chart. It's better that they are excited than not so my Photoshop/printing skills don't go to waste! Not to mention the 45 minutes that I waited for this guy to laminate everything at Office Max. :(

Still, just to see happy Riley makes my heart melt! ♥

Happy 29th Birthday to ME!!
I have had a great birthday so far and it's only 9:15 am. First of all, Facebook friends are INSANE!! I absolutely love my birthday wishes and my phone dinging every second to alert me of them. Second, I am going to get my hair did (colored) since I AM only 29 and I may have a couple of grey/white hairs showing through. Not sexy!
But the best part of today so far was waking up and seeing a pink sack on my nightstand. The tissue paper was crinkled just right and slightly peeking out of the sack. My sweet Kylie had fixed it for me and that kind of thing just makes you so proud as a mother. She got me You, Again and I can't wait to watch it with her this weekend. We laughed so hard together at that movie.
I just had to share her card because it is so darn cute! She picked it out herself and not only is it true, she crossed out the words "daughter" and put "mother" instead. Sometimes I think that she may be just a little more mature than I am. Anyways, the card is SO true!! ha!
I absolutely ADORE her!!

we love him already
Today we are traveling back to Texas for the rest of spring break and to meet a very special little guy. My nephew, Carson, was born March 22 and I am beyond ready to meet him! We have seen pictures and we love him already! Just look how sweet.....
We are so ready to go meet him. We had to make up two snow days this week and since my kids were at school, so was I. I subbed Kylie's class those two days and then we rested and did laundry yesterday.
Kylie painted. I just love that girl's mind!
And Riles played on his new IPad. We are really loving this thing. There are a lot of apps out there for special needs kids and also learning apps for all kids. I'm really excited about the Angry Birds app but I hardly get to use this little baby. Between Alan and the kids, I get to see it around midnight these days. ha!
I'm most excited because hopefully on the plane for Disney or in the restaurants that don't serve "chips n cheese", we may get some relief. Here's to hoping!

troy aikman @ my elementary school
This little hottie was at my elementary school to present them with some kind of fitness award. I loved going to elementary school here and still have lifelong friends from Burks Elementary. Most of them are my Facebook friends now so we can reminisce about the past whenever we want!
I still remember the smell of the cafeteria (kinda soy related) as well as the time when my friend, Billy Vita got his fingers stuck under the door to the portable building that they stuffed three 3rd grade classes in that year. I also remember the time that Billy Pope was trying to let Mrs. Atherton know that someone was throwing up by calling out, "Mrs. African, Mrs. African, Robby's throwing up again!" My friend, Amy and I still laugh about that story to this day! I guess most of all I remember a tornado in the area and my grandmother coming to pick me up and take me to her storm shelter under the ground. I hope someday Kylie remembers funny little stories about her elementary school experience and looks back and smiles, too. :)
sweet disney shirt
Oh. my. goodness! I just won something!! I entered a contest at Magical Memories Blog and I actually won!! I was looking for cute, embroidered Disney shirts for both kids a while back (I actually found some that I can't wait to get in the mail) and then I saw this contest with Girly Girls Emporium so I entered. Who knew that I would actually WIN? So, in addition to the other Disney shirts that I got, I am getting this FREE one for Kylie. It will be short-sleeved and have her name on it instead of Sophia.

Kylie is so excited about going to Disney World in just one short month and I am over the moon that she would still be open to wearing a Minnie shirt with her name on it. ha! I actually have always pictured her at DW in something like this:
However, I do realize that she is not three years old anymore and the pillow dresses and ruffled bell bottoms are not in her fashion world. I still remember the days where I could stick a HUGE bow in her hair and dress her with ruffles and smocking, but those good 'ole days are over. Nowadays I am just happy that she learned how to match and which clothes are "play" clothes and which ones are "going out in" clothes. BIG step!
I ended up buying her and Riley matching shirts from Monkey See Boutique. Michelle was so sweet and even emailed me back the same night to tell me that they could do a shirt for Riley as well. Both will have white shirts with red and black mickey/minnie on them and their first initial. I decided against camo and got plain black with red trim for Riles and Kylie's will have black and red zebra on it. Now I am just crossing my fingers that they will sit by each other in them and take a decent picture. If not, there's always Photoshop!!

Let's Eat Pizza!
Last night Alan and I were talking about what we were going to eat for dinner and Riley came up to me and said, "Let's eat pizza!" What? Are you kidding me? This is one of the first sentences (unprompted) that he has said that actually applies to what we were talking about. So you know what? We ate pizza!
Then he drew this little gem for us and we have no idea where he learned it. Internet? School? He told us exactly what it was. 1/8, 1,/4, 1/2 of the pizza.
He has also decorated our house with pictures of the alphabet, shapes, numbers to 100, and icons of computer games that he plays. Alan and I were lucky enough to have this picture taped to our bedroom wall. He comes up to me and asks for "four tapes" and I get 4 little strips of tape and put them on his fingers. I started counting in Spanish and now he can count to 5 in Spanish. It's SO cute! We are having so much fun with him lately!

spring is just around the corner
It's March!! Yea! That means that spring is right around the corner. That also means that Disney World is right around the corner, too. The kids are so excited! It's a given that Kylie is excited but for Riles to be excited is a rare thing. He comes to me and asks to see Disney World on my computer. I show him the parks and other places that we will see and you can just see the wheels in his brain turning as he's trying to process it all. He also dug out some plastic Disney characters and he knows who all the characters are from Mickey Mouse down to Daisy Duck. I just can't wait to see the excitement in their faces when we get there. Well, we will get there really late at night but then the next day- it will all be worth it!
We are going during Epcot's International Flower & Garden Festival and I can't wait to see all the beautiful flowers and flower statues that they have created.
So since spring is coming, I thought that I would lighten up my blog just a little bit with some hot colors. Pantone's color choice for 2011 is this pinkish color named Honeysuckle. Hmmm.... I would think that Honeysuckle would be a yellowish color, but anyways. I really love pink so I don't have a problem with it at all! Pink is supposed to be encouraging and uplifting. Here's hoping that it will encourage me to post a whole lot more so I don't have to take up scrapbooking. ha! Last year's color choice was turquoise and I am still in love with that color. Also, Glidden's color of the year is a citrus yellow color that exudes warmth and sunshine. I'm diggin' it.
Here are some things that I am obsessed with lately. Honeysuckle, citrus, and American typewriter font. Love it! Can't get enough of it. I have designed a couple of logos with this font and I just had to include it in my blog. Happy spring!
