RECAP: SF and On Course

:)
feast your eyes on the ONLY photographic proof i have that i went to On Course last week. *hangs head in shame*

i mean, i could show you pics of Alcatraz jail cells but technically, those weren't at the conference.

SO, TUES morn Michelle and I set off for San Francisco! we checked into our delightful little hotel and later set off on our rainy journey to pier 33 for our Alcatraz tour appointment, hehe. we had some slight mishaps riding the MUNI but we made it on time!

Alcatraz was very very good! i  read that it was an audio tour w/ earphones and i was thinking, "laaaame". but it had really great reviews. so we went and i was surprised at how interesting it was! very impressive and moving. it was funny being in a crowd of people ALL wearing headphones and bumping into each other. hilarious! you have to go at least once for the whole tour and people bumping experience. :)

then we had lunch at Boudin. a bowl of chowdah' sure does hit the spot on a chilly, rainy day. i missed tossing oyster crackers in it though! yeah, they don't offer those. all a ploy to get you to buy some sourdough bread, which i am not a fan of! one of the few carbs i do not consume. afterwards we set off wandering around Union Square.

gosh, i loooooove SF so much, it hurts! it was dreary out but still beautiful. the victorian houses, steep hills, the bay. love it. so yeah, we eventually found our way to H&M and eventually found ourselves at the cash register with too much in our hands. yeah... but I told Mich that we're cool because we can say we've shopped at H&M on 5th ave in NY and union square in SF.

HA! so a homeless man with a FedEx box approached us.
Question 1 - Do you have any spare change? (no.)
Question 2 - *while holding up FedEx box* You want a MacBook?

bahahaha! he was very generous!

we rode the MUNI "home" and we learned how to pronounce street names such as Haight (hate) and Gough (guh). educational experience, it t'was. oh and we got kinda annoyed at two loud nerdy guys! fun times. then we ate pizza with spicy exploding sausages. explosions of flavor, that is!

WED - we slept in which was glorious then went to pick up our rental. then we checked out and went to ocean beach just because we Have to visit a beach if we're nearby one. seriously ocean deprived over here.
then we ate yummy tacos and took off to Merced.

goood church, of course. in fact, all of the services were good so it would be super repetitive for me to say it every time!! Elders Howard, Klann, McMullen and Garza preached wonderfully.

wed nt, I got to meet Hanna and Anali and Nancy/Meow (heehee!) at In-N-Out. Great times!! thurs, we ate with Emily and Kim and the Klann crew and had Starbucks with Hanna and Anali. thurs nt, Mich and i picked up some happy meals and i learned of her apparent love for apples slices. fri was Panda Express with Hanna, Anali and Brianna! then we showed up late to the lock in and i pretty much gabbed with Shavonne the whole time! and Anali and i tried to hug and stand underneath our respective umbrellas at the same time but that wasn't working well. OHH! and i didn't get to really eat out with her but my twin Jen Connell and i yelled "TWIN!" at each other several times throughout the conference. it was great fun.

I am KICKING myself for not taking any pics with HA (get it? Hanna and Anali? you two have a new nickname) considering how much time we spent together.

but yeah, conference was awesome and i am getting old.... more tired as the years go by! ohmyword. we started off every morning with breakfast at 7am {which is technically 9am in Dallas so it wasn't too bad} and then i downed 2 cups of coffee back to back while reading the newspaper. seriously?! yeah, that's not typical behavior for me. like stepping into some alternate universe.

SAT we set off home. i drove the scenic route... well, at first it wasn't scenic, haha! i drove through Los Banos {which we called "the bathrooms" during a previous trip} then drove up through the bay area. *le sigh!*

i'd like to take this moment to thank my dear friend for tolerating my driving {even if she was Snarky Gina GPS occasionally!!}. God bless you and praise Him that the car was returned back dent free.

{man, this entry is long}

ok, so returned car and rode the BART to SFO.
naturally, SFO is probably the coolest airport i've flown through. naturally.

the end! i hope to see my friends again soooon.
dear Jesus, maybe Jen could have an additional week of vacation given to her? ok, bye.

multiple monday morning musings

Um, hello there!!
yeah, this is how i am/will be feeling oh, for the next 3 weeks. Very busy fun times ahead!

anyone else headed to On Course next week??? anyone???

PRAISE REPORTS!
so last Sunday night, we had one get the holy ghost! he was relentless! church was dismissed and he was still praying. i received a text when i was almost home saying that he finally got it. yayyyyy!

and then Last Night, wowza. God is so good and God bless the ministry of Elder Johnny Carroll. he preached a wonderful message for our night service and we had five get the holy ghost! talk about some serious prayer and travailing around the altar! 3 were children of my church and 2 were visitors. i laid me down to sleep around midnight this morning but it was soooooo worth it!

Friday night was kinda bittersweet. a backslider came and prayed really well at the altar but he didn't come back on Sunday. People - Don't Walk Away From God! it's SO Hard to come back. :(

oh, another praise report {of a lesser degree} - i made my coffee just right today!
yes, this is exciting news.
not too sweet or bland, not too strong or weak. obviously, i only accomplish this every once in a while!

okay, i believe i am done musing for now! leave me a comment :)
going to On Course? made a great coffee? had souls at your altar? won a million dollars? tell me about it.
