is it THE END OF THE WORLD!?!

Oh dear.

I'm really not taking THAT much stock in the Mayan calendar, I promise! Besides, it's not Friday yet, in my neck of the woods. ;)

I'm just sitting here, minding my business reading and I kept hearing {actually, I keep hearing it still!!} this loud plane by my house. Ummm ok. I went outside and it's not like a police helicopter with a spotlight. It's a plane with white lights and lights that flash red, green and blue. Military plane??? Alien spacecraft??? What is this???

Maybe I just need to go to bed.

OR eat some pancakes with cookie butter! latest obsession!

just dropping in!

Happy 12/12/12!!!!
How corny! I know. I agree! ;)

I feel like I've been missing out on all that's going on in the blogosphere since I'm on the computer less! As for me, life over here hasn't felt very calm although it is a lot more restful for me. This week is only half over and it seems like a blur!

Sunday morning, Bro. Sosa preached a bilingual message for us! He did a great job too. Sunday night - Elder James Pixler preached great, as usual! Monday morning, I met up with some classmates at school and we studied alllll day, besides a lunch break. Wowza. Yeah, I've never done anything like that before but I think it paid off because I know that I did fine on my final that night at 5:30! After thinking all day on Monday, I resolved to have a "dumb as rocks day" on Tuesday and not think too hard about anything. I failed, lol. But my thoughts weren't academic so maybe I succeeded!

Today, I ran some errands and brought my doggie to the lake that evening. We did almost 5 miles, which is a great feat for him.... and okay, for me too but he really isn't used to walking far distances. He'll typically give up and lie down on the ground out of sheer exhaustion but he only did that a couple of times. Ha!

I love sunsets and large bodies of water and cool weather!!!
Toby relaxing during a break
I was fascinated with these huge, slightly creepy birds

So here I am now on Wednesday night, sipping tea and blogging :)

I know I'm being Captain Obvious but.... mercy! This year is almost over!  Holidays will be here before you know it. I'm also thinking about a dinner party that I'll be doing soon. Should be interesting! Also, Winter Heritage is around the corner.

So much is happening!

What's on your to-do list before the year is over?

doors

seriously this always makes me snicker but I LOVE IT!
Sooooooo.....

Life is the mundane, the bitter, the sweet. And then there's the bittersweet.
I experienced some of the latter on Friday because there was a major layoff in my department and I was affected by it. a.k.a. - currently unemployed! Yes, soooo crazy! However, I've learned that while working in the financial field, you kinda have to learn how to roll with the punches, whatever they may be. That said, I'd like to stay far away from the financial field for awhile! :)

A lot of people were sent home early that day. It was an unsettling atmosphere to be in but, you guys. You guys! The peace of God is So Crazy Real. I really cannot put into words all the reassurance that I felt and continue to feel. Ohhh my word. It's like, I just Know God is going to do something sooooo great. Call me delirious or impractical. It's okay. I've been called those before. And I have no idea what's coming next. But I just Know God will come through for me in an amazing way! I'm.... dare I say.... excited!

We had some goooood church on Sunday night. Prayer before service went longer than usual because a new convert was praying intensely for the holy ghost. At one point, I was just thinking about how much he needs the holy ghost to make it through life {and of course, to make it to a favorable afterlife}!

What in the world would I do without the holy ghost in my life?? I'm sure some of my former coworkers thought alcohol was their antidote last Friday night. My antidote was my church's Friday night service and hearing my pastor preach about the sufficiency of God's grace in our lives, all before I told him what happened to me earlier that day.

I'm no Super Apostolic. I am nothing on my own.
But I serve an awesome, amazing God who can do great things if we put our trust in Him and give Him the reins of our lives. Whatever that next door is, He will open it at the right time!
