Wishful Thinking

Last night Liam ran outside to greet Tanner as he came home from work. He happened to see the first star of the night and thought he could wish on that star and maybe his wish would come true. He didn't tell me what he wished (probably wanting to play it safe), but he was very hopeful.

...

This morning Liam woke up a little somber. Tanner and I found out he had wished for a "shark tooth." Tanner asked Liam how he expected his wish to come true and here's what he said:

"Maybe a star, after it gets real late and dark, will swoop down into the ocean and grab a tooth from a shark... and then bring it down and put it on my dresser."

We felt a bit bad to see a disappointment like that happen to him. I'll have to make him a special after school snack or something today.

Powder Update

Last Wednesday and Thursday winter came and then left suddenly leaving 18 inches of snow behind. The city police encouraged everyone to stay inside unless they had 4 wheel drive or chains on their tires (we don't have the plowing power that I've seen in Utah, unfortunately).

A plow wasn't able to shovel our cul-de-sac until yesterday, so home sweet home it was.
This idea was not mine, but because I grounded myself at home I found time to draw it up and put it together within a couple hours. Not bad right?
I realized we live by this great sledding hill at a park just up the street. We had a youth group activity there, but I wasn't allowed to go because of my growing belly. Too bad. They missed a sweet opportunity to see me flying down on my belly-Frosty the Snowman style.

The Bun's in the Oven

(Julian sat like this watching and waiting while some cookies baked. Just too exciting.)

We had our ultra sound today and it looks like I'll be sewing tons over the next four months...

And it won't be with blue fabric :)
We brought the boys along to share the experience. Afterwards, Tanner asked the boys what we should name her. Julian thought for a second then replied with "Grandpa"-a sweet suggestion from a little boy that admires that name so much :)

First Night 2012

Score: 42 (very smart chess guy) to zero (everyone else), and he still had many hours to put everyone else to shame. The nerd smell was through the roof.

Thank you to the zoom feature on the camera. We knew we would need you sometime.
