Santa Claus

Lucas was very excited to sit on Santa's lap. Santa started joking about someone being naughty this year. The other kids in line said, "Not me." Then Luke started confessing to Santa that he had been naughty. Everyone just laughed. Santa asked, "Well, don't you help your mom with your baby brother." Luke said, "No." It was funny. Luke favorite part was the candy cane.
Gabe stared pretty hard, but he wasn't scared of Santa.
Lucas was excited for Gabe to join the party.
This is what happens when I'm trying to get that perfect picture. Gabe just wants to climb onto the stage and Lucas is way into his candy.
Perfect picture! My two buddies!
Merry Christmas!

Brotherly Love

Gabe and Lucas have really bonded as brothers. Now that Gabe is one year old they interact more. Gabe likes to hit Lucas on the head and Lucas laughs hysterically. That picture of Lucas holding Gabe's hand is so cute, but the picture below is reality. Luke loves to tease Gabe and Gabe screams to get Luke in trouble. Gabe is also learning all kinds of fun tricks from Luke like throwing toys and screaming. It makes each day exciting. They really do love each other. Luke loves to give Gabe hugs and kisses. I'm so glad they have each other to be best pals. Gabe: I don't want to take a picture. Let go! Luke: I think it's so funny to hear Gabe scream.

Happy Times!

Gabe's best smiles are when he's doing something he's not suppose to. The scarey thing is when I caught him he was teetering on the edge of the toilet about to give himself a swirly.

Kids say and do the funniest things

Gabe officially started walking this weekend. He still prefers to crawl, but he can do it! So cute! His mission these days are to get as many bananas and crackers as he can.

Lucas is so funny! He picked out Barbie cereal at the store. As he is eating his cereal he says, "She's so pretty. I want to kiss her." I had him re-do it for the camara. Picture 2: We were experimenting for a preschool craft idea making snowmen with shaving cream/glue. I got out the foam sticker shapes for the hat, shoes, and arms. Lucas decided the snowman needs stickers for the cheeks, chest, tummy, and other parts. Then he place the shapes so that they were sticking out like spikes. I had to bite my tongue. In my mind he was destroying the product. Then I felt very proud that he was so creative. He also made a "H" and "L" with stickers. Smart kid.

Funny #2- Last night I got a little sick, so this morning I was taking it easy watching "Return to Me". Lucas woke up and came and snuggled with me. At one part in the movie he said,"Kiss her. Kiss her." I thought, wow, Luke might end up being a chick-flick guy. Then a little later when the main character was crying, he started pretending to cry, and then laughed really hard. He was teasing me. He is totally boy!

Happy Fall

Gabe knows about candy and loves it. He is such a smiley, happy boy. He loves playing with the "little people" toys. He is also taking 8 steps inbetween Ben and I.

Luke just finished swimming lessons at the YMCA. He's in level 2. He has no fear. He can float, swim, and jump in. He is a pro at dunking his head under water and blowing bubbles.

Halloween

Everyone dresses up in our family. Ben was a gangster, Heather was Penny from "Hairspray", Luke was a transformer, and Gabe was a frog and a lion. Since Halloween last year Luke has been very into dressing up. He had a spiderman, superman, and batman outfit. At the beginning of the month he said he wanted to be batman, but while we were shopping he decided he wanted to be something scary. So he picked a lion outfit at old navy. We had four different costume parties to go to this month. He actually wore something different to each one. First a lion, then batman, then superman, then a transformer. Both the boys love CANDY! He had fun trunker treating.

I did it!

I finally did it! I started a blog for our family. With all the pictures I love to share I really should have started this sooner. I just didn't know if I could keep up with a blog when I hardly check my email every few days, and only check our extended family website once a week. I also doubted my creativity in a project like this. Well I'm excited to start. Our family is doing great. The last two weekends were filled with extended family. The weekend before Halloween the Hochhalter family gathered to send Ben's brother Dan off to boot camp. It was fun to be together and a little emotional. This last weekend, my brother Rich and family and sister Becky and husband Doug came into town. We had an early Thanksgiving feast. Then the girls went shopping while the guys watched sports. We love Family!
