Where in the World will they GO!?
My parents' mission call should be coming today. I just can not wait to see where they will by serving for 18 months! I think they will be one of the cutest Senior Missionaries...with my Mom's bubbly, positive personality and the ability to keep going and going and going...we like to call her the energizer bunny! And with my Dad's kindness and desire t0 SERVE! My Dad has never really talked about his little acts of service he does through out each & everyday...but I hear about them from others! Needless to say, I'm so excited for my parents to finally be able to serve a mission together and I know they'll have a great time, no matter where they GO!(Bryton, my Dad, Cash)
About a month ago my whole family went up by Christopher Creek and stayed in my Aunt's cabin. We all had so much fun just hanging out, going on walks, doing crafts and just being together! I'm not sure if my WHOLE family, kids included, have ever gone out of town together. But since my parents will be leaving soon, we made it happen for them!
I just love my dad's face in this picture. He looks so happy. He loves paint balling w/ my brothers and nephews! And I love the green remnants on his face from a paintball!
(Michelle, Marley, Taggert......Ryan & Taggert)
Taggert was in heaven on the quad!
(Brian, Mairsy, Grady.... Ashton, Jayden, Brogan)
(Mykalin, Jayden, Sage, Madison)
My Mom provided the craft for the girls...making hair clips.
(Lyndee & Bronson)
I just love kids at this age w/ their personalities developing and their cute lil voices kill me!
(Pierce & Westin)
The Babies!

Grandma Roxie West Owens
My sweet Grandma Roxie was 88, a month shy of 89, when she peacefully past away. Her sweetheart has been gone for 15 yrs now!! She always talked about her Orr and how she knew he was with her, watching over her. Grandma Roxie was still teaching 15 piano students up until 2 months ago! She loved all her piano students and has probably taught about 80% of Show Low ;) Grandma Roxie often introduced herself to my friends as 'Foxy Roxie!'. She loved her drives down to Mesa and would make them all by herself up until a few months ago. She was always so proud of the line of cars she'd get behind her, coming down the canyon. She was very independent! Even in her last days, she talked about her worry of losing social security and said, 'That's alright! You know what I'm going to do...I'll make pies!! And everyone will buy my pies!'
Grandma Roxie left behind 6 children, 42 grandchildren, 124 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren!
She was a GREAT example to us all!

Time Out for women....10.10.09
So I decided I was going to Time Out this yr, I had never been. And I had my mom, and 2 of my sister n-laws join me! It was a lot of fun. Very uplifting and lots of laughing!
Friday night-
Brad & Debi Wilcox spoke, such a fun couple, and their whole thing was on 'If you can laugh at it, you can live with it!' and just how humor helps keep a perspective & builds relationships! There has been a number of times ever since where Karie and I have said to each other 'well, if you can laugh at it, you can live with it!' Haha, but it really is a good reminder to try and deal w/ things that seem annoying or hard with a little bit of humor!
Then there was John Bytheway. I really liked him! One of the things he talked about was making a conscience effort of being delightful with others and especially towards your husband. And sure enough, when I woke up Saturday morning, Chris was all chipper as usual and I'm just like a zombie, I thought to myself 'you know, I really should try to be delightful right now because Chris is being all chipper and I'm not going to see him all day because I'll be at Time Out!!' so I put a smile on my face, w/ my eyelids barely open and tried to be delightful! And you know what!? He noticed!!
Saturday-
Emily Watts was great. She talked about even though we create some of our problems, that we 'need to trust in Heavenly Father that He will untie our knots!'. We just need to come to him! And she talked about Mothers can do all they can with their children but Heavenly Father is who can really make a difference! So we need to teach our children to rely & trust in Heavenly Father!
Emily Freeman was sweet and talked about Making the Most of Today! and Giving your All. BE THERE! Sometimes, there are ones we care about who are struggling and we don't always know what to say...Just Be There! Being there may be all they need.
Wendy Ulrich was an amazing women who has had hard trials! But she was sure delightful!! She was just hilarious and had everyone laughing what seemed like non-stop! She said, 'If a thing is worth doing, it's worth doing badly then not at all!' She talked a lot about weaknesses. And how Satan wants to take our weaknesses & take us to hell. But Heavenly Father wants to take our weaknesses & take us to heaven! Weaknesses are not sin!! Ether 12:27~ And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them. Our weaknesses can not be eliminated in this life...it lies in the mortal body! We need humility, which equals meek and teachable!
It was a great weekend and I'm glad I got to share it with some of my family. The speakers went over a lot of things we already know, but sometimes its good to have a reminder and to hear it from a different perspective!! And they were all SO DELIGHTFUL!! :) Even Kenneth Cope...although he could have been a little less delightful! A little too cheesy for me and my liking...it was hard to watch!!!
p.s. Chris and I now point out to one another when one is being just so delightful & pleasant to be around...haha
