Piano Crib Toy

Zoe's been practicing how to crawl. She's been getting around by scooting around on her back and rolling from side to side. Now she's attempting to crawl. She gets really excited when she can grab a toy in front of her after working hard to reach it.

This is one of Zoe's new toys. It plays music and it is also a piano. She likes to play with the little ducky that opens and closes and says "hello baby" and "peekaboo" to her.

What a cute face. See how chubby she's getting? She's really squisable now. That's one of the outfits she wore for her 6 months pictures.

Zoe really likes to kick her legs so this was just the perfect toy for her. She can play the piano by kicking it with her feet. She's gotten really good at it. I was trying to get a picture of her playing the piano but she loves the camera so she just had to turn and pose for me.

6 month check up

Today was Zoe's 6 month checkup with her pediatrician. She has grown so much. She weighed 16.7 lbs which is in the 60th percentile and was 27 inches tall which is in the 90th percentile. I just can't believe how tall she is. She was such a brave little girl getting her shots. She screamed and cried but calmed down quickly. She always gets really tired after her shots so she will probably have a good nap. Her Dr. thought she was so cute, sweet, and talkative. He said she was such a busy little girl because she was just wanting to get into everything. She was working hard trying to put the Dr.'s stethoscope in her mouth. She is still obsessed with her feet so she was trying to eat them while she was on my lap too. She didn't cry this time when her Dr. held her so I think she made a good impression on him. She just gave him a big smile. Her grin is so cute with her big cheeks and teethless mouth. Her grin looks like an old persons without dentures.

6 months old

Zoe is sitting up better today. Once she can sit up by herself she can decrease her dose of prevacid.

Zoe was creeping towards her baby doll.

Zoe likes to look at the little animals on her quilt.

Zoe likes to chew on the piece of fabric on this toy.

She still loves her feet!

First Tank Top

Zoe just loves this toy. She reminds me of Calvin when he is focused on the computer. Like father like daughter!

Zoe still likes to play with her soft books. They feel good on her gums and they make a crinkling noise.

Here she is again trying to maintain her balance. Doesn't she look so cute in her tank top?

Fun Time in the Pack n' Play

I've been putting Zoe in here with her toys and blankets for quiet time. She loves to just unwind and have downtime to herself. She just rolls around in here and plays with the toys and messes with the blanket.

When I checked on Zoe one day, I caught her with a bunny on her belly and she was petting it like she pets Hans. It was so sweet. When she saw me looking at her, she just gave me a huge smile. What a cutie!

Zoe and Ellen Emo

My younger sister, Ellen, came to visit. Ellen and Zoe love to play together.

Zoe Kae was sitting up really well today. She was trying to balance herself by stretching out her arms like a little surfer girl.

Look how focused she is.

Cute Lace Leggings

Zoe wore cute lace leggings that MiMi sent her. She got a lot of compliments on them when we were out. She doesn't look too ladylike with her belly hanging out like that does she? This is a premeal belly. You should see how big her belly can get after a full meal.

I love when Zoe puts her chin down onto her chest and grins.

Zoe's first paycheck

We went to the Retina Foundation for Zoe's eye exam. Zoe was such a little trooper and cooperated when they patched her eyes for the exam. She had to look at a computer screen with black and white lines that would get smaller and smaller. She was really good at focusing on the screen. She did so well paying attention to the computer test that they decided to test her some more. They held up huge flashcards with black/white/gray images on it. She was getting tired of doing this but she hung in there until the very end. The results showed that her vision is within normal range for her age. They did notice that her left eye is slightly weaker than the right eye even though it is in the normal range. They said it isn't anything that needs to be treated but to keep an eye on her eye. The Retina Foundation compiles data for some research on pediatric eye disorders such as ptosis and they want Zoe to participate in their study since she is so young and can handle testing so well. I think I'll let her participate since she didn't seem to mind it at all. She even earned $5 today for her hard work. They want Zoe to come back in 6 months to participate in their research. I hope she gets another paycheck the next time. I'll have to get a little piggy bank for Zoe to put her hard earned money in.

Breakfast Time

Zoe always has to take a break from eating because she always has a dirty diaper midway through her meal. She barely fits onto the changing table when she is all stretched out.

Zoe's first meal in her new highchair. She kept sliding down but she didn't seem to mind. I really need those seat cushions. The dogs are very interested in Zoe's food. Hans would probably love to lick the food off of Zoe's mouth. I'm afraid that when Calvin is in charge of feeding Zoe, Hansie will probably get a chance to wipe Zoe's mouth.

Zoe always sneezes during her meal. After getting sprayed with food several times, I've gotten pretty good at putting my hand or a bib in front of her mouth.

Zoe is not too fond of rice cereal anymore. Too bland for her. Calvin said she needs some salt in it. I think he was serious!!!

Too Cute

Zoe loves this teething toy MiMi sent her.

She goes wild for it and sometimes gets frustrated.

It's called Sophie Le Giraffe and its head and body squeak. Hans thinks it is his toy and he has been eyeing this teething toy. I have to make sure it is out of his reach.

Ahhhh...that feels good on my gums!

Zoe's never seen this longhorn stuffed animal up close before. She was really interested in it.

Zoe was trying to get to the tag on the bunny's butt.

These are all pictures from one day. She kept spitting up all over me and all over her so there were a lot of wardrobe changes that day. I figured I should take some pictures since she is trying on different clothes.

I took to long taking pictures and didn't have her bottle and food ready in time. Zoe likes to eat within half an hour after she wakes up. I was taking too long taking pictures and so she let me have it when her food didn't come on time. She was screaming and crying would not stop. I had to give her a pacifier, sing a song, and bounce around the house all at the same time in order to calm her down so she would take her bottle. I won't be taking too long to get her food ready the next time.

Her denim skirt is still too big for her. She looks kind of silly in it.

Zoe sitting in Calvin's rocking chair. Calvin's grandmother hand painted those balloons on to the arms of the chair. There's also a picture on the seat. She looks like such a big girl.

We were testing out her new highchair. I finally assembled the chair myself.

Zoe seems to really like her highchair even though I don't have the cushions for the seat yet. Apparently the cushions are backordered until the end of May. I can't believe I am going to be waiting 2 months for these cushions. I just had to have the red ones because they match our kitchen!

Those white sandals she is wearing are Calvin's sandals. Can you believe Calvin's mom still has his baby shoes? They are in pretty good condition too considering they are over 30 years old!

Zoe is putting her hand up to say "Hey". She's been saying the 'h' sound lately. She sounds like this.... "eh, eh, heh, hey". So far she's made all the vowel sounds, the 'g' sound and the 'h' sound. I wonder what will be next.

Zoe just ate some prunes. She likes them better than peaches. I don't have to worry about her being constipated anymore!!

Zoe noticed the giraffe on her bouncer chair and

also the tiger. She will twist her whole body to look at them and tries to touch them too.

Hans still loves Zoe and is constantly licking her. Zoe pets Hans every day.
Hans is checking out Zoe's sneakers.
Zoe still thinks her play gym is really fun!

Play Time

I had to start patching her eye to get her used to the eye patch. She is getting her vision tested next week so I have to patch her eye up to an hour a day. She was ok with it other than rubbing it constantly. After about half an hour she started to fuss but not too bad at all. She looks like a little pirate!

Look how tall she looks. I think she weighs around 16# but I'm not sure how tall she is.

She is still fascinated with her toes. Sometimes she can get them in her mouth.

She's noticed the little rolling toy attached to her jumper and she can make the thing roll.

She still likes to grab hold of the ropes and also look at the fabric on the sides of the jumper.

Looking cute with daddy. Zoe loves when daddy plays with her. Nobody can make her laugh like daddy does. Calvin makes me laugh when he does silly things with Zoe so how can Zoe resist when daddy acts goofy! Look how chubby her cheeks look here.

Zoe loves to reach out her hand and pet Hans. I've gotten Hans used to getting his ears pulled. He's also gotten used to having Zoe ride on his back. Hansie will do anything for treats.

Zoe likes to hit the ball on her playmat. I sat her up in her bumbo so she could swing at it.

She has bed head. She just woke up from sleeping 12 hours. She's been sleeping more than 12 hours lately. She's doing 12 1/2 to 13 hours straight. The girl loves to sleep just like her mommy and daddy. I think she hit another milestone of some sort now that she is approaching 6 months. She did 2 really long naps yesterday. I hope she keeps doing this because it gives us lots of playtime in the afternoon before bed.

Zoe loves to grab hold of the ball. She can't hold onto it for long though.

Perfect timing. Zoe is up from her nap. She is doing what she did yesterday. Her morning nap was 1 hour and 45 minutes. She's been playing with her toes and looking in her crib mirror for the past 15 minutes. I love to watch her on the baby monitor to see what she does to entertain herself in her crib. She loves to play by herself when she wakes up. I think she is kind of vain.... she loves to look at herself in the mirror (hahaha). I wonder if she knows yet that it is her reflection and not another baby. Well, I better go get her. As soon as she eats her lunch we are all going out to Katy Trail. Calvin and I will have to take turns walking Zoe in her stroller so we can take turns running. I have to get a jogging stroller soon so we can all run together.
