Snack Time and Dinner Out

Zoe working hard to feed herself a snack.

Zoe is getting better at eating her snacks. She gets kind of confused at times and grabs it with her right hand but then sticks her left hand in her mouth. Sometimes the snack will fall out from between her fingers but then she will suck on her thumb. Sometimes she has the snack in the palm of her hand but can't get her fist to open up. It's so funny! We help her and push the snack out from her hand so she doesn't get frustrated.

Zoe got a little puff in her mouth and was mashing it with her gums. She looks really funny and cute when she starts chewing.

She likes to stand on her high chair. She'll step on the foot board and hold onto the tray table.

Zoe is laughing at Calvin in this picture. Calvin was making funny faces at her while he was trying to take her picture.
We met some friends out for pizza last night. Zoe took a really long 2nd nap so she didn't need to take a 3rd nap yesterday so it was perfect. Zoe had dinner at a restaurant for her very first time. I made sure to bring corn casserole (her favorite) so that she would enjoy her dinner. I even had the waiter bring me hot water so that her bottle was nice and warm. Zoe had a great meal and so did we. She was in a great mood and really showed off in front of the new people she met. They all thought she was such a good baby....which she is, but she was on her very very very best behavior. Calvin and I were really impressed with her and so was everyone else at the table.

Zoe was just fascinated with one of the girls at the table. She was staring at her the entire time. I told Joni that babies like to stare at good looking people so it was a compliment! Zoe was really studying their faces and watching them. I guess after checking them out they passed her test. She really liked looking at Joni and kept looking mainly at her and smiling. We got home a little past 7 and she had a power bath and was in bed asleep by 7:40pm. No meltdowns because she was so tired. We were so proud of her.

Look at me stand!

Zoe's legs are getting much stronger. She enjoys standing up and playing with her toy. She likes to flip open the cookie monster's head to see what's inside. She likes to hold onto Elmo while he dances from side to side.

Here she is trying to lean forward so she can put her mouth on Elmo.

She loves to pull up to a standing position. What a big girl!

So Cute!!

Zoe's been sleeping with a stuffed animal for a few days now. She loves to have something by her face when she is sleeping. I know they don't recommend stuffed animals in the crib until babies reach their first birthday but I thought she could handle it now. She's very mobile in her crib and can transfer things from hand to hand easily so I don't see it being a suffocation hazard. She loves having the stuffed animal in her crib! I figured it would be nice for her to get used to it in her crib since I will have to remove her bumper when she starts pulling up in the crib. Zoe's pediatrician said to remove the bumper at 9 months so that she can't use the bumper to pull herself over and out of the crib. Zoe loves to sleep with her head close to the bumper so at least now that she has her stuffed animal with her, she can cuddle up against it instead of the bumper.

I have been watching her sleep with the stuffed animal on the monitor and it was just sooooo cute! I just had to take a picture to share it with everyone. She did open her eyes briefly and looked around when she heard the flash but it didn't wake her up.

What a cutie! She likes this toy better than the other one I gave her. The other one was too small and she couldn't really cuddle with it. This one is just the right size and shape for her.

Zoe in Longhorn denim dress

Zoe loves for Hans or Lucy to lick her hands. She always stretches out her hands so that one of them can clean them off for her. She prefers the dogs over a wet wipe. You should see the face she makes when I get close to her with a wet wipe!!

Look at how dirty she got! She had a blast with that teething biscuit. She looks like a mess! That's another outfit Calvin bought for Zoe. It's kind of big on top.

She really needs a bath!

Look at those chubby legs.

Zoe has a little dark spot on her dress. In Zoe Kae fashion, she had to put her dress in her mouth right before I took pictures.

Zoe still loves to sit in her highchair. She sits here and uses her legs to push off the foot base and bounces on the chair. She sometimes hits her head on the back but it doesn't seem to bother her. I think that is pretty strange considering she once used to scream like someone was cutting off her fingers (Calvin's phrase) when we would dry her off from a bath! The cushions finally came in. Calvin is on his way to pick them up as I'm posting. I tried to get it this afternoon but I couldn't find a parking space so I came back empty handed after circling around the shopping center forever.

Zoe was in another great mood. She was smiling at the dogs.

MiMi and Granddad Leroy's visit

MiMi got Zoe Kae this outfit. It is from Tommy Hilfigger which is Granddad Leroy's favorite designer.

Zoe has a teething biscuit in her hand. It gets really messy so it's something she gets to work on after her dinner before her bath. Lately, she's been eating so much food at dinner time that she hasn't had an appetite to chew on the teething biscuit.

Once it gets really gooey and slippery from her saliva, she tends to drop it. Lucy and Hans are nearby to swoop it up when it drops on the floor. Lucy has gotten herself two biscuits that way. Hans is not that quick but old Crazy Lu will bite off your finger if you get in between her and food.

Granddad Leroy put his Dallas Cowboys cap on Zoe. She looks so funny in this picture. She's got a bib that says 'spoil me' but she does not look so spoiled in this picture. Calvin and I were laughing at this picture because she looks so dirty and not in her usual fashionable clothes. Calvin thought she looked like she was so poor. Poor Zoe!! I guess that means daddy wants Zoe to go shopping for some nicer clothes! Hahaha!! She's all dirty from eating a teething biscuit and from her little snacks she's working on. Zoe Kae has gotten really good at self feeding the little puffs. She kind of resisted self feeding when MiMi started to feed them to her but I got her back to self feeding. Mommy's are tougher than Grandma's!! I cannot seem to get her to hold the bottle. All I can do is get her to put her hands on the bottle for a few seconds and that is about it for Zoe. She knows I will hold the bottle for her since I want her to drink her formula. Snacks are a different story. I guess she knows that there will be no snacks unless she figures out how to eat them on her own. What a smart baby!!

This is the picture of MiMi and Granddad Leroy Zoe Kae will have in her little baby family photo album.

First Mother's Day

Calvin bought Zoe this pink Longhorn dress for her to wear on Mother's Day. It's not what I would have dressed her up in but if Calvin picks out something for Zoe, she will wear it. She looks cute in anything anyway. She has Daddy doll or Daddy McDreamy doll in her mouth. It's called Daddy doll because it is a Dr. doll in scrubs and one of Calvin's patients called him Dr. McDreamy! He was requested to do anesthesia for this particular patient who was a young girl. That made Calvin feel like a stud I'm sure!

Zoe worked on her ribbon shoe laces and got it in her mouth.

The laces weren't good enough for her. She had to have a taste of her shoe. I think she likes it!

Just hanging out in the crib before we head out for lunch.

Mirror, mirror on the crib, who's the cutest baby of them all? Zoe Kae of course!

Get me out of here. If only I were strong enough to pull myself up and out of this crib.

Uh oh!! Zoe's stuck. She tried to roll over onto her tummy but ran out of room! Haha! I took the picture and I got her out of the crib. That was enough pictures!

We went to Kona Grill to have lunch. We sat outside and the weather was really nice. It was really sunny so we kept Zoe in her stroller so she would be out of the sun. Zoe likes to sit like this and put her feet up.

Calvin even got Zoe a matching pink Longhorn bib.

Don't you think those thighs have gotten bigger? I don't think you can tell in this picture but her right thigh is skinnier than her left thigh. It's because she likes to stomp her right foot all the time so it gets a good workout. I'm going to have to work out her left thigh so she doesn't have a heavy left leg. Haha!! It might hinder her from walking properly!!

What a smirk!

This is Zoe Kae's bathing suit. We were testing it out to make sure it fits. I just have to get a little pool for her to splash in. She loves to splash in her little tub so I'm sure she will have a blast in her baby pool.

Zoe, Zoe and more Zoe

What's up Doc? Zoe likes her little carrot toy.

It's so funny how babies like tags on stuff. If only I came up with 'taggies' toys. I could be a millionaire right now.

Mmmmm....carrot is tasty.

Ohhhhh, that feels good on my gums!

I love you Leap!

Zoe loves Leap and Lilly the frog. Leap sings the ABC's which is really long and Lilly sings the numbers 1-10. Zoe usually plays with Leap at home because he is really longwinded. We usually take Lilly out with us since she doesn't take so long to finish her song. When I bought the Leap Frog at Target, the checker warned me against it saying that her daughter had Lilly the Leap Frog and that it is really really annoying. So far, the singing frogs haven't gotten on my nerves or on Calvin's nerves yet.

Her shirt says 'mommy's sweetie'.

Sitting in front of our front door step. She's wearing orange so I had to put her by our Longhorn rock.

Zoe seems to like these sunglasses better than the other ones I bought for her.

"Sorry, no autographs right now. I'm busy taking pictures." She's a cool baby in her new sunglasses!

I bought a bunch of new hair clips for her the other day. She has so much hair that her little baby clips just don't hold all of her hair in.

Cute pose for the camera. She's so cute!! I know you want to squish those arms and thighs!

Zoe was was getting kind of upset because I took the ribbon out of her hands. She was tugging on the ribbon on the bassinet and kept looking down.

Here she's sticking out her tongue at me to say she did not appreciate me taking her fun bow away from her.

This was the bow on the bassinet that she was having so much fun with. Hans seems really interested in it too. Actually, I think he is interested in Zoe's cute little toes.

Zoe has fun rolling around on our bed. Look at her tummy! She just had lunch so it is nice and full!

I thought this little outfit was so cute. Can you believe I got it at Costco? Calvin picked it out. He's good at picking out cute outfits for Zoe and likes to see her dressed up all cute with a bow in her hair. Calvin will let me know if I'm not looking too good either. He likes for his ladies to be dressed nicely. I guess that just means more shopping for us girls!! :-)

What a cutie pie!
She was in a great mood this day. She just gave me big smiles all day long!

So happy!! Her shirt says 'daddy's princess'.

Zoe takes her bath sitting up in her little tub. She likes to splash the water with her arms and goes wild for her ducky. I need to get her another tub because she is outgrowing this one. Bath time is such a mess because she gets water all over the place.
